  • check out feist new song - how come you never go there...sounds alot like ricky.

  • Incredible, unique artist...Nobody like her!

  • Just got back from her concert here in Ohio about an hour ago, (after a two hour drive back.) It was incredible, she's a pure artist and her back up band was really good. The drummer you could tell was a classically trained jazz drummer. It's kind of surreal watching this because i just saw her 3 hours ago. Her voice has hardly changed at all. I recommend that if you have the chance to see her, you should!

  • Wow, haven't heard this in ages! :-)

  • Thanks so much to UMG & VEVO for leaving us next to nothing of her work to enjoy on YT. The idiots might actually promote & sell more of her albums if people actually had access to it.

  • Please join Rickies facebook for the latest R.L.J news.

  • @lazlomortomer Yeah !

  • This song just popped into my head today. I really miss quality music. Compared to Rickie, today's music is trash.

  • @sweiland75 agreeed

  • If this woman looks like an angel, that's because she's a walking gift from God.

  • Pretty good arrangement !

Rickie Lee Jones - synthesizer, guitar, vocals

    John Robinson - drums

    Buzz Feiten - guitar

    Dean Parks - guitar

    Greg Phillinganes - keyboards

    Neil Stubenhaus - bass

    Bob Sheppard - sax

    Bob Zimmitti - percussion

    Don't stop confiding ...

  • She's perfect in all of her flaws. She's a natural. And I adore her.

  • Great voice

  • Thought it was called SatelliteS - with an S at the end. Is it just me... or?

  • Ah, something good can come from Chicago! Love this catchy tune. She's delightfully unique.

  • @dyamarick Isn't Etta James from Chicago? And Nine Inch Nails?

  • @Hister333 At last one of my favorites.

  • @dyamarick Wha?

  • @Hister333 Etta James sang "At Last", one of my favorites.

  • @dyamarick Oh, right. I love it all. Kind of like Janis Joplin without the growl.

  • she is my aunt

  • Hey ibdanno2 thanks for the info. Heard Sattelites when she was on SNL thought it was an awesome song. Thanks again

  • does anyone know if this song is also the album name or is this song is on a different album

  • @shepherd373

IIRC it's on Flying Cowboys... one of her best!

  • @shepherd373 The album is Flying Cowboys.

  • WE WERE BORN FOREVER

  • thank you Rickie

  • wonder what ever happened to her? i've always loved this song.

  • Once upon a time this was mainstream female pop vocalists...nowadays we have Lady Gaga and other infantile trash.

  • lovely song. Beneath all the self conscious posing is a true poet I think.

  • Nothing We Could Do I sat on the floor and listened to Vietnam I was missing a few friends some where out there They were fighting for me and you There were voices everywhere from Haiphong to Timbuktu I listened in on the shortwave to Hanoi Hannah Listened to the BBC I laughed and prayed for victory When it was all over no one said but we knew My friends weren’t comming back and there was nothing we could do M.S. Morrison
  • Feels so natural...

  • loved her since i first heard her many many moons ago.... nothing but sincere appreciation for her beauty ...

  • The moment I saw Rickie on Saturday Night Live in 1979, I fell in love with her.

I've lost count how many times I saw her live. The last time I finally asked her for an autograph. It's tattooed on my left shoulder.

  • YES .... beautiful

  • One of the finest artists ever. Annoyed she's not known to th egeneral public outside of Chuck E's in Love.

  • Rickie - great song, great video. lets get some more of your original music like this on youtube, please! not al these bootlegs! a great part of your recordings are in the production!! thanks for all the great music over the years!!

  • Flying cowboys is one of those albums that just keeps growing on me, i never tire of listening to it, its good at home or in the car, straight or................, my copy is worn to digital bits

  • Great video! The 80s was Rickie's best period - this was before booze, drugs, and the worst drug of the all - food led to some very bad albums and peculiar thoughts on religion and politics.

  • Finally.....hopefully the copyright nazis will leave this video alone.

  • Sweet Rickie!

  • Yep!! Just love her music realy cool & sweet

  • Extraordinária Rickie Lee. As always.

  • I LOVE YOU RICKIE!!!!!!!!!!

  • First heard it when I was 13 or 14yrs old.. Im 37 now... Ive just always LOVED this track...!!

I want to get ahold of the SNL performance of this tune!! ThANKSS for posting this!! :-)

  • @itsstillfriday hey....I've been trying to find that SNL performance too....it was Ricky Lee with Patti Austin and Reby McIntire doing backgroud vocals....they tore it UP ^^^

  • @itsstillfriday

I've got this song on an old videotape of SNL from 1989....if I can digitlize it, I'll try to put it on. It was great apperance.

  • @gootenslog I remember that show. I only saw it once- live on SNL when it aired. I was already a fan of RLJ but it made an impression on me. If you can upload that performance it would be appreciated.

  • @ShipwreckTownBand. Well put!

  • rickie lee- soul sister walking in heavens's light

  • @ShipwreckTownBand and she shed that light for a great part on my life.

  • Beautiful!
