Just got back from her concert here in Ohio about an hour ago, (after a two hour drive back.) It was incredible, she's a pure artist and her back up band was really good. The drummer you could tell was a classically trained jazz drummer. It's kind of surreal watching this because i just saw her 3 hours ago. Her voice has hardly changed at all. I recommend that if you have the chance to see her, you should!
Thanks so much to UMG & VEVO for leaving us next to nothing of her work to enjoy on YT. The idiots might actually promote & sell more of her albums if people actually had access to it.
Nothing We Could Do I sat on the floor and listened to Vietnam I was missing a few friends some where out there They were fighting for me and you There were voices everywhere from Haiphong to Timbuktu I listened in on the shortwave to Hanoi Hannah Listened to the BBC I laughed and prayed for victory When it was all over no one said but we knew My friends weren’t comming back and there was nothing we could do M.S. Morrison
Rickie - great song, great video. lets get some more of your original music like this on youtube, please! not al these bootlegs! a great part of your recordings are in the production!! thanks for all the great music over the years!!
Flying cowboys is one of those albums that just keeps growing on me, i never tire of listening to it, its good at home or in the car, straight or................, my copy is worn to digital bits
Great video! The 80s was Rickie's best period - this was before booze, drugs, and the worst drug of the all - food led to some very bad albums and peculiar thoughts on religion and politics.
@itsstillfriday hey....I've been trying to find that SNL performance too....it was Ricky Lee with Patti Austin and Reby McIntire doing backgroud vocals....they tore it UP ^^^
@gootenslog I remember that show. I only saw it once- live on SNL when it aired. I was already a fan of RLJ but it made an impression on me. If you can upload that performance it would be appreciated.
check out feist new song - how come you never go there...sounds alot like ricky.

This song just popped into my head today. I really miss quality music. Compared to Rickie, today's music is trash.

Once upon a time this was mainstream female pop vocalists...nowadays we have Lady Gaga and other infantile trash.

The moment I saw Rickie on Saturday Night Live in 1979, I fell in love with her.
I've lost count how many times I saw her live. The last time I finally asked her for an autograph. It's tattooed on my left shoulder.
