  • i so luv papaya salad with fried chicken fired fish fried pork chops or even BBQ ..have papaya shredded now in frig. this has just gave me the extra push to get it made...o yea with sticky rice

  • Khop khun khrap. Can you make the Som Tum with fruit? when i was in Ayutthaya, my friend made Som Tum with fruit. It was aroi mak!! Thank you for posting this video.

  • Many people can't stands the pra ra smells, but once the food are done, I promise there won't be any smell and it tastes the best.

  • looks good, but where is the tamarind and shrimp paste? i usually add in the crab paste including the real crabs also.

    i've never have payaya salads with dill, but it taste pretty good with spear mints and/or thai basil...yummy....

  • Som Tum is my favorite Thai dish tried it in the "Pattaya's Beer Garden" it was sooooooo hot that even I had a bit of a work out on my South American tastebuds...Delicious!

    All waiters were looking if the "Farang" was going to finish the dish...I DID...LOL

    I just made som tum! I added prawns and mint leaves (which compliments the ingredients well).

    I know fried pork skin is the style in Yasothon, right? :) In Ubon Ratchathani, we mix it with Mo Yo(Preserved minced pork), parsley, bean sprouts, noodle,or some kind of shell. Som tam sellers are very creative! :)

    Can you find Pla ra in the bottle in your country? I have learnt how to make pla ra from my mom but it would take 1 year to be ready to eat! and yes! Som Tam pla ra+ sticky rice+ BBQ chicken+ Larb Moo+ Noodle ... :)
