The style of music making is cheap and boring since after the millenium.. Its just a waste of time I'd rather stick to 50s-90s where I never stop finding amazing music it never ends
Jesus Christ it was considered out of this world in the 1970s however in this day and age it's considered total bull shit there music has no meaning and a mentally retarded child could have made it
@007yeates You can't discredit a decades old invention just because it's terrible in the context of the modern day. Modern music might not exist were it not for Kraftwerk. Your comment is like dismissing the inventors of the first computers just because their machines weren't as powerful as the ones we have now.
Yeah, but we don't use their inventions, we use modern ones. Why would we listen to obsolete music? Its just pointless nostalgia and holding back the development of music.
@SaladofStones How is listening to old music holding back development? Old music inspires new artists, you know. And music doesn't become 'obsolete'. It's an artform.
@SaladofStones Art does not become 'obsolete', it moves through periods and eras b/c human and pop culture changes. Sure, some music is dated, but some music is timeless. If all music was 'obsolete', we wouldn't have songs from artists like Beethoven or Mozart all over television--and those songs are AT LEAST 100-200 years old. Kraftwerk is famous b/c they PIONEERED electronic music. Without them, there would be no Vocaloids or whatever you listen to.
I'm sorry, I don't listen to vocaloid, I find that the compositions of Zun are far superior to anything the west has done in its entire history, try again. Vocaloid is simply the west attempting to, once again, force its values upon the world, in this event using the guise of Japanese moe-culture.
I don't support the works of men like Beethoven or Mozart, who often plagiarized many other sources.
@SaladofStones And older stuff always inspires newer stuff (be it a piece of art or history, or discovery, experiences, trial and error, etc.). Nothing people come up with is ever truly 100% original, there's always influences--and sometimes retro stuff comes back! so like I said, don't be so ignorant.
@SaladofStones I refuse to argue with you, b/c you are obviously a troll -- a wannabe- intellectual troll who doesn't appreciate good music b/c they are so close-minded and willfully ignorant -- and seriously, where did plagiarism come from? If you really knew anything about psycology or art/music, you might've know what I was talking about. Don't troll me anymore or else I'm blocking you.
@SaladofStones Well, it must be sad to be you... I enjoy listening to older music. and watching black and white films, and reading 200 year old books (alongside the newer stuff), but I must be 'holding back development' that way. Also, I wonder what kind of music you listen to, that doesn't 'plagiarize' older sources.
@Furral I completely agree with your statement, liking older stuff does not hold back development at all--in fact, learning from it increases development! Don't pay attention to that guy though--he even admitted to being a troll.
to all the ignorant kids who are saying this is shit - the fact that people like kraftwerk were making these sounds in the 1970s is nothing short of remarkable. kraftwerk are responsible for a lot of music out today. thinkgalileo is shit compared to einstein because his science was not as sophisticated?
@007yeates This is from the god damn 70's, were you doing something considered out of this world in the 70's? No I think not, so leave the mastery to the geniuses like Kraftwerk.
@SaladofStones *Ehem* Genius does not equal fame. There are thousands of underground artists who never made it to the top because common ears don't appreciate quality, only what's "cool" for today. Tomorrow it will be something worse than the last garbage you heard. Just listen to the Dubstep shit kids like. Also, I recall many bands like Slipknot getting awards. Why? Because they compensate for their lack of talent by appealing to a younger, dumber crowd. I rest my case, bro.
Your argument is not based on the quality of the music but the supposed quality of those would listen to it, you're using a logical fallacy by arguing that the quality of the music is related to how much the "masses" enjoy it, which is a clear association fallacy and proves nothing.
Kraftwerk, however, were failures since they failed to produce anything advanced, just simple messages and beats. They are a relic of an old era, and nothing more.
@SaladofStones You feel the need to demean us and put us down because you don't understand the difference. Put down your sword and stop being a pseudo-intellectual douchebag.
I'm sorry but I can't handle it when people use things as strong as reason and use it to justify accepting obsolete music.
There is no quality to this music, it is simply a footnote, (if even that!) in the developing history of music, things like Aphex Twin and Amon Tobin, however, can be considered true art for not only did he push the envelop with the design of his music, he also had unique subject matter and music videos.
@SaladofStones Derp derp? I'm not a man. I think you contradicted your philosophy from the beginning. I loved the part where you said "It's about fame" but then you said "it's not about fame". That makes so much sense right? I'm sensing some schizophrenia here.
If you think you are qualified to make a psychological examination of another person, you are sadly mistaken.
Well not sadly, really, you are mistaken about everything you say so I suggest for the betterment of the youtube community as a whole, you should stop.
@SaladofStones The beauty of it is that you are losing. You also contradicted yourself. You automatically are a fail troll. I already knew this but went along to see how much longer your charade could go on before you went full on retarded. Looks like I won because you actually thought I was fooled? Haha! You're account is all too obvious.
I guess the goal of troll versus counter-troll is about who gets mad first. I'd say that between us, you got a lot more mad about this since I was able to get quite a lot of response for what I admit was some pretty dispassionate trolling, and based off a rather obvious bait.
What matters is that a lot of people took it so I'm rather pleased with the result.
@SaladofStones Actually I was the more elaborate troll by pretending to be mad. In the end you thought I was actually pissed off. Heh...I actually wasn't pissed at all. You have the right to not like Kraftwerk, but I really do regard them highly.
We could play the game of who was trolling who, but in the end, I didn't really put any effort in this nor did I really have any emotional investment in this since I'm a kraftwerk fan.
@SaladofStones Actually, you were using a fallacy by saying they weren't talented due to the fact that they did not get awards. You just demeaned your own logic. I simply told you it isn't about how much people enjoy it, it's about the actual quality of the music. You just attacked your own thought idea. What a fucking idiot! *facepalms* Try doing as you say instead of saying as you do. I think you're the failure for not realizing they did this before anyone else was producing this music.
This is the band that started hip hop. I understand that this information will freak out blacks, cause they hate the thought of being influenced by white boys, but it is what it is. They were. This also tells me that the Germans were in fact the first people to do this whole electronic music stuff too.
@StonedReviewer Um, okay. That's good for ol' Herbie boy. Frank Sinatra came before both of them. What's your freckin' point? This band was the first to use electronic music, so I don't know why you have to bring up Herbie. You try to bring up people like your making a point or they are your saving grace or something. Herbie had shit to do with what I'm talking about, and you know it. But it's cool, you continue to sweep white inspiration under the rug.
@StonedReviewer No, I said that this was the band that transformed the thinking of Hip Hop (or that's what I meant,) into another level. I've been studying the evolutions of Hip Hop, and how funny it is that the eras of different Hip Hop upgrades occur when a white band comes around. I'm not trying to claim hip hop. Me personally, I don't want it. But that music genre is so influenced by white, it's crazy.
@StonedReviewer They do have some things differently, but it does have at least a few things that are inspired by whites. But I can't blame you, the white people just know how to make music. It's kinda our thing. We are creative like that! :)
@StonedReviewer Again, you absolutely have NO idea what I'm talking about, do you. Come on, lets try one more time. First off, you replied to me, so you can get angry all you want. I am not TALKING about rap or hip hop in its earliest forms. You do realize that the hip hop music has added elements throughout its time of being a genre, right?
@StonedReviewer This is one of them. It's documented that hip hop was influenced by this band. You do know that right? That's why, when this band came out, they started to use more futuristic sounds in their tracks. This is a factual statement. I'm talking about THIS band, and THEIR type of music being an inspiration in hip hop, in the late 70's. Do some research before you come to the dance, big boy.
@ba77ar90 You simply cannot restrain yourself, sir. Now you have become a fully qualified troll and a full-on hater. There is a man that can help you.
i dont mean to be a troll or a hater, but everything about this song is just soo fucking bad and the fact tht it was made decades ago i dont consider an excuse.
@ba77ar90 Well, if you truly meant to avoid being a troll, or a hater, sir, you have failed, most epically, and become a hateful troll, with piss-poor taste in music.
@ba77ar90 Don't worry about it. I remember a comic book I had, and I thought the art was the worst possible thing I'd ever seen. Years later I saw it again, and thought it was some of the best art I'd ever seen, I remember hating it, and realized I'd grown as a person. We live and learn and grow.
You may or may not learn why this is so great, but you should know from someone who's not gonna lie to you, THIS IS ONE OF THE SINGLE BEST SONGS EVER.
@MrPhoenix1138 you do realize that they were around 40 years before daft punk and that Daft Punk are inspired from Kraftwerk also they did not have the techonology of daft punk
@MrPhoenix1138 i like them too because they have so many common with kraftwerk i think daft punk are the kraftwerk of today also if you see when they started you will see that tour de france was released almost the same year so i like to believe that they got inspired from them and started their career

@SaladofStones Back then, they were advanced, an pioneers. How could you deny that? I think you're literally retarded.

This is the band that started hip hop. I understand that this information will freak out blacks, cause they hate the thought of being influenced by white boys, but it is what it is. They were. This also tells me that the Germans were in fact the first people to do this whole electronic music stuff too.
mrohyoudidntknow 1 week ago
@mrohyoudidntknow Rockit by Herbie Hancock came out before this though
StonedReviewer 1 week ago
@StonedReviewer Um, okay. That's good for ol' Herbie boy. Frank Sinatra came before both of them. What's your freckin' point? This band was the first to use electronic music, so I don't know why you have to bring up Herbie. You try to bring up people like your making a point or they are your saving grace or something. Herbie had shit to do with what I'm talking about, and you know it. But it's cool, you continue to sweep white inspiration under the rug.
mrohyoudidntknow 1 week ago
@mrohyoudidntknow you said this was the band that started Hip Hop, i pointed out an earlier artist that was doing hip hop. thats how its relevant
StonedReviewer 1 week ago
@StonedReviewer No, I said that this was the band that transformed the thinking of Hip Hop (or that's what I meant,) into another level. I've been studying the evolutions of Hip Hop, and how funny it is that the eras of different Hip Hop upgrades occur when a white band comes around. I'm not trying to claim hip hop. Me personally, I don't want it. But that music genre is so influenced by white, it's crazy.
mrohyoudidntknow 1 week ago
@StonedReviewer They do have some things differently, but it does have at least a few things that are inspired by whites. But I can't blame you, the white people just know how to make music. It's kinda our thing. We are creative like that! :)
mrohyoudidntknow 1 week ago
@mrohyoudidntknow im not sure if youre trying to get me angry or if its just because english isnt your native tongue. but do you realize im white?
StonedReviewer 1 week ago
@mrohyoudidntknow check out Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan if you want the first "rap" song
StonedReviewer 1 week ago
@StonedReviewer Again, you absolutely have NO idea what I'm talking about, do you. Come on, lets try one more time. First off, you replied to me, so you can get angry all you want. I am not TALKING about rap or hip hop in its earliest forms. You do realize that the hip hop music has added elements throughout its time of being a genre, right?
mrohyoudidntknow 1 week ago
@StonedReviewer This is one of them. It's documented that hip hop was influenced by this band. You do know that right? That's why, when this band came out, they started to use more futuristic sounds in their tracks. This is a factual statement. I'm talking about THIS band, and THEIR type of music being an inspiration in hip hop, in the late 70's. Do some research before you come to the dance, big boy.

@y4juhty Yep, I do and I recognize them the hard job. But I still like Daft Punk better. It's a matter of styles.
MrPhoenix1138 1 week ago
@MrPhoenix1138 i like them too because they have so many common with kraftwerk i think daft punk are the kraftwerk of today also if you see when they started you will see that tour de france was released almost the same year so i like to believe that they got inspired from them and started their career
