i have the ipod classic but i am disappointed with the audio quality .i mean ipod is not loud.they made the sound quaiuty low and when you are on the bus or tube you can hardly listen to mp3s.i know there are high quality earphones out there and trust me i tried them on the ipod but still the sound is low. that s the only downfall of this device.but its perfect for putting the entire music collection you have on this little device...

Hey, guys quick question I have an Ipod Classic with 80gb that I got on my B day in September of 07'. Ever since January of 08' its been malfunctioning on me and now its on "recovery mode"(basicly won't let me do any thing with it.). Its christmas time and Ive been thinking i should give up on my Ipod Classic and just get an Ipod Touch. What do you guys think. Is there a way to fix my problem easily or should i buy an ipod touch? People tend to store videos temporarily and store their entire music collection indefinitely and allow for growth of their music collection on an mp3 player.

Thus storage = current music collection in gb multipled by 2 = X ... + 1/3 of X for the temporary storage for videos = Y

approx 240gb thats all im asking for!

it is THE best iPod ever, even though the Mini was great. battery life aint the very best, but it's still way better than the iPod Video's batterylife. Just remeber to turn the brightness down to about 28%. It's a lifesaver. My classic is running for 3 more days now. GO FOR THIS iPOD!!!

Well unfortunately, it is now 160 GB only, which is an excessive capacity by a long stretch. And because of the gigantic hard drive, the device is really noisy, in fact it does a whistle every once in a while when you go through your content. That whistle is so loud it can go through your headphones in a slightly noisy room when no music's playin and bug the shit out of other people around. Plus, it's heavy and nonportable.

I bought the Classic yesterday to replace my 5.5G and I will be returning it as soon as I can. Just do a google search on "iPod classic audio quality" and the second search result explains it.

All the new stuff is nice but it all comes down to one thing for me: Audio Quality!

you have to put the songs on a cd, and then remove them from ur itune library and then put the cd back on ur ipod, if it works right you should only have on elbum art cover
