  • Bicep curls will get your arms bigger than pullups will. Isolation exercises do build muscle! however you need to include compound movements as well to stimulate a hormonal response. I noticed you said you like to finish off with curls, that is an isolation exercise. not including any isolation exercises in your routine will limit your gains. sure you'll put on more muscle overall with rows, but if you are trying to get your arms bigger rows aren't optimal. squats for calves or calf raises? see?

    Bicep curls are easy, pull ups are hard, pullups build hard heavy muscle, bicep curls for the most part just give you cuts, lifting your body means you are strong, if you are over 150lbs of course, if you are 120lbs and you lift your body, that's nice but you are light, lifting heavy is the path to real STRENGHT.

    Any pull motion dude. Pullups, rows, t-bar rows. However, depending on grip some will hit the biceps more than others. V-bar (not t-bar) rows are fantastic as its a closer grip, just like close+reverse grip pullups hitting the biceps more. I do those and then end it with some curls to fully tap them bitches out

    You claim that the twins will never be as strong as the twins in bulk mode...yet a 90 lb fly is by no means weak and even the twins couldn't pull that off. Scooby also does incline db presses with 115-120 lb dbs. He's been bulding muscle for over 2 decades, even if he has shitty genetics he could build 5 pounds of muscle average each year, thats 100 pound of muscle through 20 years. There's plenty of natural dudes his age with his size, just not alot of people with his strict nutrition so they look like shit because of their bodyfat.

  • @JKbar91 It was just a hypothetical theory to make a point, he obviously doesn't have 100 pounds of muscle on his body he'd be over 350 pounds then due to the water % in the body.

    He has probably built around 50-65 pounds of muscle throughout his BB career, you wouldn't say he was on the juice if he had 90 pounds of fat over those muscles. Which brings me to another point, what's impressive about scoobys physique is that he has a low BF%. If he was on the juice he'd be looking like a pro BBer.

  • @sukiwooty excerices that involve only one muscle, for example for the chest, instead of doing flyes ( isolation exercise ) u should do bench press ( compound exercise, where you use chest, shoulders, arms ect)

  • I got most of my chest gains from everything but bench/incline. Mostly fly's, I have a really wide chest. But my bench sucks and so does my incline and I think thats why. If I had stuck with compound movements I probably would have a thicker build and be able to put more weight on my bench/incline workouts. Been trying to do mainly bench/incline workouts now.

  • its not about building muscle its about building quality muscle , so doing a compound builds the muscle and the isolation shapes it up and fills in the gaps

  • Isolation excercises have their place, but I agree with the overall message. Pushups Squats and Pullups are the ultimate mass builders and should be the bulk of any experienced Bodybuilder's workout and should pretty much be ALL of a beginner's workout.

    I use isolations to burn out my muscles after compounds, it makes you look like a wuss having to do db press and fly w/ light weight after pushups but as long as the results come you know you're working hard enough

Sure ppl can yell its genetics n what not, but the fact that they have super fucked lower backs n were still able to build strength and muscle in the gym is an achievement

  • @t0y Biceps and chest don't go together. You can do compound movements for chest+triceps+shoulders and back+biceps. If you want to hit a compound movement for chest+triceps+shoulders, any kind of forward/incline press will do. If you want back+biceps, pullups/chin ups/bent over rows/t-bar rows are kings.

    Scooby does plenty of compound exercises and usually recommends compond excercises over iso, so long as pain and injuries are not an issue.

  • I got a question: i dont work out my forearms on their own they just get worked indirectly. Ive noticed however that when im doing curls or other pulling movements my forearms give out before the muscle im actually targeting gives out. This shit is really holding me back and i dont wanna use no dam wrist straps any advice?
