Bicep curls will get your arms bigger than pullups will. Isolation exercises do build muscle! however you need to include compound movements as well to stimulate a hormonal response. I noticed you said you like to finish off with curls, that is an isolation exercise. not including any isolation exercises in your routine will limit your gains. sure you'll put on more muscle overall with rows, but if you are trying to get your arms bigger rows aren't optimal. squats for calves or calf raises? see?

I got most of my chest gains from everything but bench/incline. Mostly fly's, I have a really wide chest. But my bench sucks and so does my incline and I think thats why. If I had stuck with compound movements I probably would have a thicker build and be able to put more weight on my bench/incline workouts. Been trying to do mainly bench/incline workouts now.

@t0y Biceps and chest don't go together. You can do compound movements for chest+triceps+shoulders and back+biceps. If you want to hit a compound movement for chest+triceps+shoulders, any kind of forward/incline press will do. If you want back+biceps, pullups/chin ups/bent over rows/t-bar rows are kings.

@FearTheMajin even if they were i dont see whats the huge problem. these twins have by far the best natural transformation physiques after only 3 years. Sure ppl can yell its genetics n what not, but the fact that they have super fucked lower backs n were still able to build strength and muscle in the gym is an achievement

@t0y Biceps and chest don't go together. You can do compound movements for chest+triceps+shoulders and back+biceps. If you want to hit a compound movement for chest+triceps+shoulders, any kind of forward/incline press will do. If you want back+biceps, pullups/chin ups/bent over rows/t-bar rows are kings.

Scooby does plenty of compound exercises and usually recommends compond excercises over iso, so long as pain and injuries are not an issue.

the heavier you go with isolation exercises MEANS you have to increase the form drastically and form is very important especially with heavier weights because if you mess up...you're gonna snap some shit up. just in case any jimmy struthers are confused because the reason they put this vid up is because a lot of ppl still dont understand the concept of isolation exercises which is okay. just tryin to clear some stuff up for ya'll. go make some gains!!!

I got a question: i dont work out my forearms on their own they just get worked indirectly. Ive noticed however that when im doing curls or other pulling movements my forearms give out before the muscle im actually targeting gives out.
