@shellysabin123 welding the skirts together would defeat the purpose of having them- they are meant to flow freely on the ground to prevent wedges from getting underneath them, and welding them together would mean that they wouldnt touch the ground.

I grew up on Robot Wars, but Battlebots has really grown on me in the last few years. Diesector is possibly my favourite robot from this show, and this battle shows why. Donald Hutson is a legendary builder and driver, and he is one of few people to put several weapons on his robot and have it perform so well.

Diesector's always been my favorite Super Heavy Weight of all. I was pissed when he lost to Vladiator in Season 3, but it was an acceptable defeat since Vladiator impaled Minion in the finals.

if It's one piece, lifters would have a harder time lifting, beacuse only ONE side will go up, if theey are all one piece, one flip and your dead. Theese guys just did not thing there bot over

SOW does not have skirts, he is a solid chassi bot with wheel covers. Skirts don't work on bots like Final desteny. If they were one piece he would be flipped amediatley. You're wrong.

Biohazard Wasn't one piece. Like this one right here, each plate were loose, and in nearly each combat, they were ripped right off, flying across the stage. Final Destiny's skirt needs to be FLUSH to the ground, and welded in ONE piece, with lower blades, like Mauler or SOW. If it's FLUSH and I mean REALLY flush, it won't be flipped over, and the lower blades would hit lower enemies.

This was one of the best fights that season, and probably the best strategic victory in all of BattleBots. Donald said it himself that FD was a very dangerous bot, dominating anything that came its way. Yet, he came in with a brilliant game plan to render FD's blade worse than useless.

Donald's Diesector definitely deserved the championship that year; he not only beat the rookie that everyone had eyes on, but he also defeated Vladiator and New Cruelty; two bots he lost to before.

so they would drag on the ground and make it damn near impossible for MOST bots to get under them, it's the same concept as Biohazard. Diesector got under him because he cna do the same thing with his jaws essentially pushing them into the floor.

If he had done that, then one of two things would happen:

1. The skirts would be too low, leaving the wheels a fraction off of the ground.

2. The skirts wouldn't be low enough, making it a lot weaker against pretty much every low wedge bot that can get under him.

The concept of skirts just worked against FD here; usually, if a bot lifts a skirt, only the skirt is lifted, leaving the attacked bot with all of its wheels on the ground. The same thing happened to Hazard against T-Minus.

The funny thing is reading everyones comments the flaws that final destiny had where in the hinges and strapping to hold the panels down. If we had better hinges and strapping we would have been fine but it was a last min crunch to get FD packed and shipped out. And yes Im one of the builders for FD. To bad the new battle bots doesn't have SHW. The new SHW FD would kick some ass

that's pretty cool, but wouldn't a single aerodynamically designed shell be better for FD, kind of like a piece of china turned upside down. And maybe you might want to make the shell out of weaker metals because it's main purpose is to lift a bot to the blades. Also try to minimize the height. I do have one question; are magnets allowed?

um....nagzash, you are officially retarded...the skirts are so if a flipping robot gets under your robots body, you have nothing to worry about cuz the skirt will flip up, something you cant do if their "fixed" to eachother. secondly, the spinner on that bot was probably the best spinning weapon in battle bots, it wasnt unstable at all. disector's extention that was added on lifted the skirts into the spinning weapon, making them fly off and make diesectors job a LOT easier...like you just saw..
