  • How to do you take a shit ?

  • hahah funny dude

  • I punched myself trying to "ride it" smashed my head on a table behind me. thanks

  • I'd rather be hitting than blocking? Blocking's a waste of time? Ride the power? Block with your forehead? Has this guy ever been in a real fight?

Allow me to be helpful for a second. If you ride a punch the way shown here you're a fool because you're taking your eyes off you're opponent. If you think blocking is a waste of time you're an idiot and have obviously no idea how to redirect attacks and set up for locks and chokes while standing. Your advice is dangerous, please stop.

  • yeah, lets try to "ride" out a punch that happens in less then a half a second.

  • take it in the nuts like a shaolin monk

  • take it like a man

  • Take a punch to the forehead from Tyson !

  • i never knew that the forehead was that strong. my fighting style is to dodge and counter-attack. blocking may hurt so its better to dodge and counter punch. since i learned from Sir Graden that blocking in the head may do good in the ring, since i'm a kickboxer, i'll try to study traditional martial arts such as Karate or Wushu because they can break hard things with their body parts.

  • Um.... i got to this from learning how to Garden... lol. jk.

  • @nikolas21498 Me to :D so funny

  • @vampayne lol jump like 4 feet in the air as they swing?

  • bully comes* i get in postion bully punches me put my head in the way next thing you know hospital

  • thanks john i had 2 fight a very tall guy who was extreamly strong im not near as strong as him and what you told me helped me win the punches didnt hurt as much then

  • Parry the punch, never take it!

  • Sorry sir, but I'd like my forehead to remain intact.

  • I've tried this countless times in sparring in Boxing and Muay Thai only to find that it very rarely works and can help your opponent set up a follow up shot during the time it takes to get back to a fighting position. You can't learn to take a hit without getting hit. Everybody will find a different way of reducing damage than everybody else, so get in a class and spar, spar, spar until you find what works best for you.

  • what if there are 2 people. one behind you and infront? you'd be riding a punch into another one

  • my forehead nd cheek hurt. IDK why.

  • thumbs up if u slightly hit your forehead with your hand to see if it is really that strong

  • how do you take a punch? You take it easy man.

  • forehead? your gonna get yourself knocked out, watch liddel vs overeem fight

  • try not to get your neck snapped.

  • @something2day

watch some "floyd mayweather defense" you'll better understand how to "roll" a punch off you.

  • how do you take a punch? HAHAHAHA. I LAUGH AT IT.

  • @leetCryptic could break someone's naked hand I SEEN'T IT

  • lol there is no easy way to take a punch but to get used to been hit!

  • how about u learn how to get out of the way of a punch

  • oh yea.. thats absaloutley ballox.. if you ride with the power, your completely off your centre, your balance lost, and your line of sight is gone.. head down, chin up, let yourself get hit on the apex off the head. do the job.

  • riding too far will cause you to get demolished if the opponent knows how to throw a combo...

  • yea wait till he elbows your head, would love to see you block that

  • This guy's actually pretty legit. 1975 world Kickboxing Champion, which he earned from sparring for over 12 hours in one day until beating a man about a foot taller than him. He's a pretty cool dude too.

  • Thnx a lot got in a fight 3 min after this video and I won!!

  • You take it LIKE A BOSS!

  • thumbs up if u punched yourself and tried to "ride" it

  • @doco124 yeah i just did it :D

  • he does the bruce lee, thumb and pinky thing

  • You dont take a punch you hit his fist with your head.

  • @HaVoSpawn I broke a guys wrist with my face once without even trying....

  • What helps me is to tighten my abs after taking a hit, which will spike your blood pressure enough to keep fresh oxygenated blood circulating to your brain. Try it the next time you get dizzy from standing up too fast, you can practice it that way.

  • i'm going to punch you, WITH MY FACE!!!!!!

  • I have developed the most successful punch stopping technique. It's called running

  • yuddhagyan sport indian martial art guru gyan prakash.

  • Ride the power: He means it as a last resort, you were out of focus, you didn't see it coming or our block missed, the last thing to do is just "go with it" if you stay rooted you get the full brunt. I let kicks push me back instead of "taking it like a man" because it's less painful that way.

Forhead block counter intuitive but not senseless. Again as a last resort a fist is coming at you, few inches before contact you can choose where it lands, nose? temple? jaw or cranium?. I take cranium.

  • How do you take a punch? You take it as a man.

  • @Theaikro lol yea heck with martial arts

  • and if someone throws an uppercut do I block it wit my chin? :D

  • @meatfactory hahahahahaah

  • @curbotize No, he just stares at you, and you get punched in the face

  • thumbs up if you punched yourself and tried to take it XD

  • RIDE THE POWER

  • @curbotize I catch em with my skull

  • everyone dont take a punch to the head it will hurt and if its hard enough it can do damage and maybe jerk your head

  • I saw 2 of his videos, and he makes very good points. I'm shocked that some one can actually explain these concepts. I learned how to take a hit before I start hitting.

  • 0:43...I want to...eye of the tiger.

  • I'd like to see an actual demonstration. Like my old sifu used to say, "Never lead with your face"

  • What I try to to is IGNORE the pain and say in my head:"Man up"

  • he would rather be hitting than blocking?

  • @Afromusician1 actualy brain damage is normally.caused by getting hit in the back of the head

  • Yeah taking shots to your forehead isn't a good thing you know! it could cause brain damage and don't say who cares -.-

  • @afromusician1 They'd have to hit you extremely hard like a professional fighter hard to cause brain damage at that spot, its normally when you get knocked out and fall on the ground that you suffer brain damage.

  • mad guy but make sense

  • Something they don't mention with the "forehead block"...When done correctly, it's actually a great counter on its own. You can break somebody's hand real fast. That being said, there are only a very few instances where I would use such a technique.

  • thats true my trainer taught me this since im a counter fighter

  • i watch this because i just got cut on my face.

  • What if the opponent is really strong and when you block using forehead, your blood come out, then what?

  • @mike3213213216 Only mike tyson would be able to do that...

  • I have used the forehead technic. It actually works perfectly. :-))

  • i did this with my mate as a test and i had a head ache for like 2 months lucky it wasnt for power

  • This sry helped me in my training alot. Thank u so mutch!

  • @ss06033 a chin shot is more likely to cause brain damage compared to a forehead shot. Eitherway. In real life fights? With untrained fighters? there punches are sadly weak no matter what size since they don't know how to throw one. In highschool I got into my first real fight. I dropped him with on kick. With adrenaline rushing? It killed his leg. So yes, kicks to work. NOT high ones though..

  • legit....legit

  • Takeing a punch in the forehead? That's the frontal lobe region. If you damage that area your gonna have alot of problems.

  • The whole riding the punch thing sounds legitimate, but no one is going to get me to take a punch with my head....

  • i should take the class. ill use these steps if so but. a class wud probbly be better :P

  • @Herc2770 Lol, it's actually not stupid to block punches with the top of your forehead. That's how most boxers break their hands...

  • @Viganator That is insane. A human being can generate 1000 plus pounds of force in a punch, easily traumatizing and damaging the brain. Im a cruiserweight champion and that was terrible tip for defence. You either evade, parry, roll or block the shot not take it exactly on ur forehead.

  • my face hurts...

  • You sure it works ==??

  • u ever thought violence wasn't the answer!

  • omg i wish so wish u would try to ride or put ur head in my fist...... be the last thing u will ever do old man

  • A wonderful example of riding punches was when Jimmy Young fought George Foreman (1978?). Foreman battered Young. Young would try to 1) evade the punch, b) block the punch, and c) ride the punch. If Young had not ridden several haymakers, he would have been knocked out, but instead he was able to knock Foreman out after falling way behind in the scoring.

Riding is not the only defense against a punch, but it is one defense you can use.

  • This works but depending on your reflexes and how fast your opponent punches.

  • Breath in when you get hit breath out when you throw a punch or kick, will release more energy

  • Headbutt them in the fist!!! Sounds funny but true!!!

  • you dont want to avoid it, you dont want to ride it, you want to block it and immediately counter attack and use the gravity of their attack against them

  • Awesome

  • That was actually pretty legit.

    You got some cool videos.

  • I get a adrenaline rush when i fight

  • @xwhinstonx

Yeah, so do I. But its not really helping, I believe I would fight alot better with my head clear and focused.

  • always try to avoid it because if u ride it, then it sets your opponent up for another punch with his opposite hand...

  • mine too

  • my master says to cover your checks and ribs and than your perfectly covered

  • Normally if you don't block the first punch you do not get any pain (Adrenaline Rush) and can get ready for the second punch and use any technique you can to stop them

  • good (Y)

  • Thanks for the advice, great video ^_^

  • double dream hands!

  • How can i know where the punch gonna come from ?

  • how can you block his punch with your forehead if that man can break coconut with his fists?

  • if your gonna take it...ride it

  • i saw ricky hatton try that againsts mayweather and nearly got knocked out lol

  • yep A guy tried to block my punch with his forehead once, he was knocked out for 15 minutes and had to 10 stitches in his forehead! but I have been doing Martial arts for 40 years!

  • You sound like the people in the commercials.

  • watch the anderson silva forrest griffen fight

  • wow

  • it still hurts when u ride it

  • @alevbow1it becuze you do it wrong way!

  • @alevbow1 Hurts even more if you don't lol. I just avoid being hit lol

  • that has really helped me as i am a girl and have been hit many times by men, thank you.x

  • thanks man

  • @kakuichi yea he does know what he is talking about but u would not lean my head forward for someone to punch me. id rather lean in direction of punch hits.

  • He's got a hard head...

  • I do thai boxing and honestly :L I dont think so, when you move, i would come back in with the lead uppercut, you my friend need to mention that your techniques dont work with all sports, thai you would just destroy the fist :L

  • This is great for your frontal lobe.

  • I definitly think tonebeatz is correct someone i no used to be in the UFC and they got nowhere by taking punches they got somewhere by defending defense is the best Offense

  • Good stuff, several good tactics. How about some comments and instruction on recovery when hit and stunned just a bit. Some automatic responses needed?

  • step in the ring and see if you can block and avoid every single punch...

  • the guy on the right looks like a little monster

  • wouldn't it be so much easier if like this video suggests you could choose where peoples punches landed?

  • lol! gloves arent for ur safety. they are for the puncher's finger bones. i wish he really punched him hard just to prove how safe getting hit by 4 oz gloves is

  • riding the punch take some of the pain out from a punch but it also increases the chance of u getting KO'd due to u whipping ur skull rly fast. I say work ur neck muscles and hold you arms so u never take a hit to the face.

  • have you ever seen someone block a punch with their forehead? I#ve seen someone break their hand while the other dude came away with a slight headache.... Know which one I'd go for

  • it makes sence actually its risky but if u do it right it doesnt hurt to bad and u have a good counter... or u do it wrong and it doesnt hurt at all

  • Also, I've read that forehead punches can easily knock you out or even kill you. Try not to use your foreheads guys... xD

  • If I had enough sense and time to ready myself to ride a punch I'd rather just use that time to move out of the way. ._.

  • thumbs up for the people who look these vids up bc theyre goign to fight someone or scared bc theyre goign to fight soon

  • The classic Boxing "Slip" and basic skull anatomy, if you have to take a hit, best you can do is brace yourself and take it on the thickest part of your skull.

    Thanks for the video.

  • @CrimsonOmen407 if someone throws a right hand you say u hit in the right shouder...i mean why do not hit directly in the face, it is more or less same close...no? sry for my english

  • @CrimsonOmen407 That is very true. Being a muai thai fighter myself, I constantly attack joints and points of balance when fighting. Muai thai is such a brutal yet smart way of fighting that can be blended with any martial art for "deadly" efficiency.

  • @CrimsonOmen407 and if the opponent has longer arms what you do then?

  • About "snuffing it out with the forehead"....how can u have the precision to do that? u need to be really quick and the guy needs to be really slow, but is a nice theory.

  • boxers use this all the time. they just have to move a inch so that the punch will glide off the forehead. not only that it will break your opponents fist. anyone who thinks this is stupid just randomly clicked this.

  • a lot of boxers do that movement the problem with that is a second punch upercut with the left :

    KO

  • @GRiMxPRoDuCTioNz sorry that happened but the thing is use the forehead as a last result try to ride it instead or if you try to take it this is one of my ways to hit back aromatically fire back a kick to a knee then when when he drops uppercut him

  • @CrimsonOmen407 respect for krav maga people, but I didn't understand what are you saying...

  • @AlmightyZEDANIUM when some guy tries to hit you, you should close the distance so you can stop his arm short with your forearm and attack with your other hand at the same time.

  • that helps sir

  • best way to take a punch headbutt

  • Well whatever side the punch is coming step to that side and get out of the way. Blocking isn't a waste of time ah because if you did opened handed. As Karate is the way of the opened hand. You should have been able to grab the arm. If some one punches you with the right side step to the left block with the left hand perry with the right. Grab that persons wrist with the hand that perried the arm. Now with you're elbow or hand break their arm at the joint or elbow.

  • @CrimsonOmen407 lol but not everyone has lightening faast reflexes... you punch davide hayes shoulder when hes doing a haymaker... that would be like trying to destroy a tank with a paintball gun

  • @biggamerboy1 if you hit him in the right spot, the arm just stops short. it doesnt matter how much force is behind it, the harder he hits, the more its going to hurt him. size only matters if he sits on you lol

  • @CrimsonOmen407 lol yeah but iv heard of it, i got told where NOT to rest the but of a shotgun, its a muscle isnt it that gets hit and the arm is dropped??

  • I like to see these videos but this one I approve it, if it's a big guy that you mad a shot in the forehead, either you steal or you t'explose forehead, dodge is the best solution - - '

  • wouldnt it make more sense to move your head in the opposite direction of the attack so it misses???

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha That guy Joe was smiling like "Yeah right! If John teaches enough of my opponents to block it with their foreheads then I'll throw some quick elbows and be undefeated muahaha!"

  • peple people of course yu have to block. But the trainer in this video is implying "IF" you have too, your last choice, then you ride it or take it on the forehead.

  • hey everyone, ride the power and u will be ok

  • He gave a good lesson actually

  • first off that dude has a horrible cross and no reach, next if someone lowered there head I would follow with a left uppercut.

  • Riding the punch is a classic boxing defense that is use in professional boxing for about 100 years. It's taught in EVERY boxing gyms in the world and is about as common as a jab. But I must admit, I'm unsure whether it'll work when downgrading from 16 oz to 4 oz gloves. There's too much penetration from the 4 oz to absorb.

  • This must be one tough head! lol

  • @ruskishooric yeah it cause a brain demage, that doesnt work at all, no all the people have strong head like others so the best u can do is block the punches i dont find this video effective at all =/

  • Hmm instead of stuffing the punch with your forehead how about dodging the punch and countering? Hmm no that can't be right...

  • just in case...just in case

  • @aliderek

    watch that movie again :P

he said that its almoast impossible to do that!

  • @aliderek i thought he said in that video to hit someone in the temple or below the ear or jaw

  • @H4rdcor3TilliDi3 he also mentions the fore head watch it again.

  • @screamomusic100 If you block it wrong yes... I'd be more concerned with compressed neck vertebrae. Build the neck muscles up before you decide to take a shot to the forehead. One method I saw to build it up, involved bending over at the waist, hands clasped behind you, and about a 5 to 10 pound weight (or heavier as you progress) hanging from a strap arrangement on your head.

  • wow thats using your head!

  • HAhahahahaahhaha come on what is he saying, his hand will be 5 times faster than head,so you go backwards and he give you hard punch, you will go down.It would be good if he try to block like that on mirko cro cop's high kick :D

  • @TheNarutoshippuden12 its not how to block a punch. its how to take a punch.... only if you cant aviod it

  • its not a block, like he says, this is for when getting hit is unavoidable. Its called "rolling" with the punches and is standard in Western boxing

  • Blocking with with forehead won't work for people with pencil necks.

  • i did this and got grounded for 2 weeks

  • yup yup ride that power

  • Same principle if someone goes to headbutt you. Just dropped your head. They will come off a lot worse.

  • he is right, remember he said its better to avoid or block it, but if you do get hit using this technique in a reflexive manner will save you unnecessary damage.

  • I'm a Kung Fu practitioner i practice for about 3 years, if you are fast the best thing is to block his atack and then give a punch quick ,if the opponent is a little dizzy you can atack him until K.O ,if not ,always keep the distance you are not in a competition you are in a street fight , to block you need good reflexes and a powerful healthy body. Remember to breath. Train your muscles every day,and take some calcium to have strong bones. Be like water my friends !

  • i didn't know this. this is a first for me. thats pretty neat. makes a lot of sense.

  • defending a punch with your forehead can destroy your opponents fist but it really hurts a lot.

  • buddy forgot to tell that this only can work for turnament martial arts, nothing else

  • i tried it on myself. ended up getting a blueblack on my cheek

  • first of all im not going to take the punches to my head because I know 95% of the time it's gonna hit me in the face and also - i thought it was interesting with the ride the power concept but in a fight it's gonna be pretty fast and i don't think you'll be able to remember to do that (as you already take the hit) meh D:

  • Who is fighting tomorrow and is concerned about his abilities?
