Congress in the States has acknowledged the fact their laws have come from Islam to the point that there's a portrait of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Congress building in Washington. (sunni) all four madhabs agree it is haram (80 % of all muslims) abu hanifa, malik, shafi, ahmed). i know music is allowed by the sect of sufism and some others which a large portion of their worship is kufr. Secondly, if you are convinced Christians have corrupted the Old Testament, there are thousands of copies that found in the last century (dead sea scrolls) that argue the opposite.

Someone explain WHY music is haram. I believe music is a beautiful thing. The voice of men and women calms the heart, readies a man for prayer. My parents encouraged me to read the Holy Qur'an with fluidity like I was singing the words not reading it. Also instruments are better passtimes than going to the pub and getting drunk. @bintarabiya Sorry sister but music is blatently haram. Nasheeds are doubtful. I used to listen to music, but with abit of knowledge and common sense it becomes very clear, what sort of corruption music has played in decieving masses away from the straight path.
