I was referring to the amount of knocks you would get if you boosted a high compression engine with more than 5 psi, Yah know the actuator wastegate wont ever allow enough flow into the turbo at 5psi. That gt28.71r, get ready for the ride of your life, friend of mine in his 180sx had one, but not tuned. lasted about 3 months before the engine could barely start. then he crashed it. Dont forget about getting a walbro 255 fuel pump.
yeah. Doesn't really matter if u tune it. turbo wastegate will never open all the way with that compression. Upgrade your 180sx with a TD06 turbo, should bolt straight in & get 740cc injectors, pluss tune, u will make 350hp at the wheels assumption is that its SR20 & not a KA24. But its nice to see people playing with v8''s with turbo's
@Xenois24 You need to tune any engine or you can say goodbye to it in seconds, the wastegate opens based on boost, and depends in the stiffness of the spring, not based on compression, I already have a gt2871r and nismo 740cc injectors waiting to get installed when I can get a TUNE, it has a blacktop sr20det, there are no v8 turbos in this video. :)
@Mesarina well then my comment will only be referring to N/A engines with higher compression ratio's. What i mean is your noting going to boost a high compression engine, its possible, but it wont last 5 minutes.

@Mesarina i cant mine is in the process of a swap now sure if im just goin with a just a m50 or a s38 :) but before i was running 10psi and beat my buddys 92' 240sx until my engine blew up it threw #6 rod and fucked my oil pan but the block is unharmed some how so i might end up rebuilding it just for you but go with T.I. rods so they dont break on me again but then again that would cost more than a s38 swap so wouldnt really be worth it. so its a super eta??? or the block is swapped?
@bassin88e30 I already drove a e30 witn m50, nice car, but you'll still want more, also drove an m5 with s38 and ran similar to the e30/m50 combo, despite the weight, you should be better with a s38, btw the block is swaped, with 325 pistons if Im not confused, but its the lower compression combo for boost
looks like the bmw pulls away, but at 7psi stock boost 180sx isn't pushing nothing for a T25 garret turbo. Might as well have a 180sx N/A versing that BMW. Sure its a v8 thats not designed for a turbo, too much compression. BMW if properly tuned should of killed the stock 180sx.

Very nice 180sx you have. Mine is a '90 with an SR20DET pushing 16psi for boost from a T22 turbo. Car only has aboyt 320hp, but that's all it needs to slide.
Pressure doesn't mean anything? Then why boost at all? If you don't have boost pressure, then your not boosting! If it is tuned well, boost pressure is almost linear with the amount of power you get from it
A 5psi boosted m20 is like an n/a m30, with turbo lag.
Im sorry but 5psi doesn't double your hp. 14-15psi would theoretically double your hp

@joemadoo There are different sizes of turbo with different a/r, would you drive a car with 12psi making 210whp or one with 5psi making the same hp? pressure doesn't means anything, my mustang with a T70 at 6psi made 360whp from the 180whp when It was n/a, so that's not basically n/a...
@Mesarina Also we dont know if the BMW has low compression setup. That could be why its only on 5 psi. Also most car turbos are made to run at their most efficient at around 10psi to a maximum of 14.7, or 1 bar. The BMW kept up suprisingly well however
