  • Kiss today goodbye <3

  • * in

  • thumbs up if you still listen to this song ing 2011 (L)

  • She has a beautiful voice! Love it.

  • Great song, thanks for posting

  • I watched this musical for the first time. One is very great but this what i did it for love is more. i could empathy to each player because their distress or whatever they think are all of us could understand and had experienced in life. so this is human drama.

  • Who is the female vocalist?

  • Natalie Cortez :)

  • What I love so much abut this is that it speaks to so many people. 'The gift' Diana sings about being what we do or what we are and having the awareness that, whatever we do for our careers (be it performing, in my case, or whatever) and / or to make us happy, it is a gift that we will have to give back one day. It's beautiful.

  • I wanted this to be my graduation song, but no one would because it was from a musical. This song is just perfect and is just unbelievable. Amazing.

  • No other song could say "Broadway" quite like this one.

  • I just saw the movie and the auditions - Jay Binder - a year of auditioning is commitment to say the least. Hopefully one day, I will do the same.

  • Sometimes, when I wanna give up dancing... some songs will just show up, or some people will say something to me to motivate me again... I am not a dancer who has been trained since the childhood... only noticed the love for dancing when in age 27.. but I know deep down in my heart... I will never stop dancing.. or wanting to dance!! This song is just great, and I remembered I cried when I first heard this song in 2007 in NYC....

  • LOVE :)

  • ok i think the 13 that disliked the video are just trying to be funny this is a great song that i sang for an audition and i wish i could do this show someday!! it was FANTASTIC on broadway and the movie was amazing

  • I love A Chorus Line, and this song in particular, because it does relate to dancers, but to most performers as well. I want to be on Broadway someday, and if I had to give it up, I wouldn't regret a single thing I did to get there.

  • i get to sing this at a contest as a solo.... wish me luck!(:

  • aweome

  • Every time I hear this song, I break out crying.

The first time I ever saw this show was when I 10

And when Zach said "If today were the day you had to stop dancing, what would you do?"

I legit started to break down crying. In my seat. At 10.

To any dancer, this is the definition of our lives.

  • For William Warren.

  • Can't regret what I did for love♥

  • i can sing to song so well. its a good warmup.

  • I thought this was Grace Jones' song loool

  • wow what a beautiful voice. raw talent

  • I remember watching "Every Little Step" and couldn't help but feel so inspired and excited for what i love to do. Listening to this song makes me love it even more.

  • @Tdintm No.

  • Jason Tam is so precious....

  • This song is just......AMAZING!! it really connects

  • @QueenMarple me too haha glee is awesome!

  • @QueenMarple Me TOOOOO :)

  • glee

  • this song is gonna be on glee!!!!

  • @virtualsophiatv I guarantee that! Sang it at HS graduation way too many years ago. Still like it.

  • A Chorus Line is so brilliant. I miss the 70s and what this all means. Innocence. And dreaming the dream. Following those dreams, with love and heart.

  • Did it all for love, will never forget my time on the stage.

this song always makes me cry, played greg gardner in 95 was the best role i have ever played.

  • this song makes me cry too

  • I love this song.

  • made me cry

  • I love this song so much and I am doing this musical in school!!! Such a great song and she has a beautiful voice!!!! =D

  • a few years ago you left the sweetest note about my daughter. I just wanted to thank you again for your kind encouraging words. She is still dancing and plans to do YAGP next year. hope all is well with you. That is our favorite musical!!

  • i always cry when i hear this song!

  • Me, too. I sang it (in harmony) at my high school graduation. I still cry and try to keep up with the harmony.

  • Lea Michele should sing this. Her voice would sound perfect for this song :)

  • @HaipaaBurosamu i just found this song and totally agree with you, her voce would suit so well, hopefully next series of glee!!!!!

  • such a good song =)

  • Always one of my Broadway favs....this song tends to make me think, feel, "what if?"....and how I missed my calling and didnt grab it when "there"....Oh well, maybe in heaven.

  • at 0:48 that girl looks like a body builder

  • oopss mpolka i meant to hit thumbs up sorry :)

and yes, this song is gorgeouss i love her voice

  • I love the song .......

  • Comment removed

  • love this beautiful beautiful song

  • I've always loved this musical and this song. I am not a dancer. I couldn't begin to dance AND sing! Karaoke is where I begin and end my broadway career - sadly!

  • which character sings this in the production

  • Diana.

  • how is 106 a funny picture

  • When I orginally heard this song at the age of 15 in 1975 when I 1st saw the original show, I didnt really understand it . Now at the age of 48 and having danced for over 30 years and w/ everyone, j cry and smile when hearing it. I have a great 2nd career, but as they saw " I left the dance, but the dance has never left me"

  • @mpolko Amen to that! From a fellow dancer-)))

May the dancer live in you forever!

  • @mpolko I love that you have a direct connection with this song and the backstory, but personally, I think anyone can connect whatever passion they have to this song if they had to give it up suddenly. For me, this is how I feel about music. Specifically, playing cello. I know I'll probably have to stop some day, but if I was forced to stop, I'd remember all of the fond memories. That, however, I could never see myself do with singing. But this reaction would probably still be the case.

  • @mpolko I'm 16, haven't danced a day in my life, and this song means absolutely nothing to me, yet somehow I'm still intrigued by it as well!

  • @mpolko That's a lovely sentiment, beautifully put

  • 1:06 is a funny picture.

    & i love this song! :)

    it's beautiful and just...amazing(:

  • the woman who plays cassie in the revival is the daughter of jaques d'amboise

  • This song has to be one of the most precious and poignant showtunes I've ever heard. This fall I start my final semester at college. Being a theater major there, I should really credit this song as my final word for when I go.

  • this is the song peter played i that family guy episode with the wine glasses..

  • was it really? lol

  • i love this song sooo much! have they made this into a film?

  • yeah.. made in 1975, i thought it could be better, "surprise surprise" from the movie is a pretty good song.

  • where can i download this version of the song I love it so much dude

  • 3 of us sang this together at the commencement in '78 when graduating HS.

  • beautiful!!! simply wonderful. thank you

  • I saw the documentary made about the revival, "Every Little Step", at a SIFF theater...pure excellence, I also recommend looking up "I met the Walrus" on youtube...not very similar actually, but it leaves you with a familiar feeling you get after listening to this song.

  • Can you download that documentary?

  • The poignancy of this song is unequalled. The melody, the words, the whole scene, just put you in a mood to remember so many things about your own life that didn't come to pass. But, you don't forget, ever.

  • The montage is from the Broadway Revival of Chorus Line. I saw the movie about staging the revival, "Every Little Step" so i recognize several of the dancers (and what they went through to get the part). I am in no way a dancer but I loved the film. The pursuit of excellence requires great sacrifice. I would love to see the show.

  • i hv 2 sing this song 4 drama and at first i thought it was boring but i actually like it

  • When most people first hear this song they think it is about love of a person. It's about more than that. It's about love of a way of life. Think of the thing you love most in life, the thing that you are most passionate about and then imagine losing it. Now sing the song with that loss in mind.

  • i always knew the real meanin most people hear it and think of that but im not like everyone else so i sung the way i knew it in my heart

  • It is precisely how I perceive this song. Yes, it is a beautiful song, but the lyrics are truly magnificent and heart felt.

  • I recently saw "Every Little Step" which is a documentary of the auditions for the revival. Check it out when you get the chance. Absolutely amazing.

  • I want to see it so badly. Is it a limited release?

  • they are currently on tour!

  • I was talking about the show. The movie, yes, limited release, so find out at a city near you

  • :-)

Thank you. I saw the tour a little over a month ago. It brought back so many memories. I think that the idea for the documentary is brilliant!

    Thanks again.

    :-)

  • i saw it recently too! i almost cried at how truly beautiful it was!

  • i saw that too. i keep seeing the pictures during the montage and going 'oh, look at her, how far she's come' etc. haha

  • Beautiful.

    What a great love song.

    Thank you, for posting this.

    Excellent.

"Kiss today goodbye, and point me toward tomorrow. We did what we had to do. Won't forget. Can't regret... what I did for love..." Amazing lyrics.

  • "If today were the day when you had to stop dancing, how would you feel?" A metaphor for life.

  • Is everyone singing this song as a solo in their acting class?

  • love this song!!!I do this for my musical theatre class at dance

  • if not, where do you think I could look?

  • i have this version in sheet music.

its like the mezzo soprano light blue singers anthology book.

its my friends but she made me a copy.

  • um.. if anyone has the sheetmusic for this version, do you think you could send it to me?

  • okay so the sheet music for this in most song books is in a different key. is that normal??

  • yeah. It's normal. You can probably find a different key if it's not the right one for you. Just keep looking.

  • omg i absoulety love this song!!

    its soo beautiful!<3

  • im singing this for a solo festivall

    yay,

  • This is a good song...goes right with the photos. And them suits are baaaaaaad!

    i love it!

    its so nice!

  • im learning this song<3

  • me too. <3

  • me three. <3

  • me four. <3

  • Man, this was always one of my favorite songs from a musical. It kind of makes me sit and think of the "regrets" I have, of not going "for it", and pursuing my dreams of dance and such when younger. Depresses the hell out of me, especially now approaching my 43 rd birthday. OMG, I am going to be sick.

  • i seen this in New York City in April..it was funny and really good!!!

  • thats the song im gonna sing for my audion :)

  • we did this song in SIA (the choral version).

it was so pretty! especially when we went "Gone, love is never gone" The soprano(me!! =]) and the altos together were beautiful and the movement in the Bass section was fabulous. add in the tenors and we had a wicked awesome recital.

  • I absolutely love her voice. I prefer it when a girl sings it.

  • Why is everybody emailing me, quit it already. Im aloud to share my opinion

  • wat the heck?

  • if you dont like it then dont watch it. meh, i dont like the lyrics and the songs really but i love her voice!

  • Saw it in LA a couple months ago. Absolutly fantastic. The simplicity of the set was perfect, and Sheila is classic. Trying out for this show must have been really ironic.

  • The girl at 2:08, the one I saw, she wasen't black. But it was so good!

  • I love the girl at 57! Tits and ass! Shes so funny! How did you get these pictures??

  • My friend sung this for her GCSE exam and i loved it

I love her voice from this song

    Its wonderful

  • You suck!

  • Yeah Natalie Cortez blew me away when I saw this live.. New Cassie?? :) :)

  • Who sings this version???

  • Natalie Cortez. She's still playing Diana.

  • I saw "A Chorus Line" back in the '80s when I was in high school...yes I'm ancient. I really love the stage version and when the movie version came out I decided that Hollywood couldn't possibly do any better than the stage so I chose not to see the movie version.

  • I saw this about two years ago with this very cast. I'm so happy to hear this sung hear because the girl who played Moralos was having ann off night. She sounds absolutly amazing here. The dancing in this show blew me away, although I remember feeling a bit ansy during music and the mirror, thats what it's called if i stand corrected, because of the lack of intermition. But other than that, outstanding =]

  • I have seen "A Chorus Line" six times, and six times I am in tears. This is my all-time favorite musical.

  • i got this song in a solo 4 a concert that our chorus is doing... this and Through The Eyes Of Love (ice castles)

  • I saw this on Broadway a few weeks ago. I'm not ashamed to say that I had tears in my eyes during this song.

  • I saw the show with this very cast! They were AWESOME! The girl who sings "Tits & Ass" was especially great (the blonde girl all the way to the left at 1:05). SO funny!

  • i just watched this brodway w/ this cast! they were so great! we had 2 AMAZING understudies

  • thank u full house.

  • I just saw this show on broadway, and, to be honest, I was amazed. The choreography was great, the whole show was funny, and the singing was phenomenal! I absolutely adored it! A must see!

we truly do for love, as long as its pure
