Firstly there were C5 generation Z06s braniac, they started in 2001 initially rated at 385hp stock and later at 405hp. They made them until the new generation C6 Corvettes came out in late 2005.

Secondly it is a Z06, you can tell by the body just in front of the rear tires. The C5 and C4 generation Corvettes have pop up headlights stock the C6 generation do not.

Thirdly you have NO IDEA what you are talking about.

The higher the elevation the less oxygen in the air, this hurts the naturally aspirated vehicle more since they have no forced induction (i.e. turbo on the diesel) and will be a little down on power at higher elevation.

The majority (if not all) 0-60 and 1/4 mile times posted by magazines etc are performed at sea level where there is more oxygen and cars are faster.

You're a moron if you think the Dodge was making "probably the same amount of hp" as the Corvette to run that time. The Corvette Z06 of this generation makes 385-405hp depending on the year. The is no physical way the Dodge weighing twice as much would be faster with a comparable amount of hp. Physics don't work that way, no matter how much torque the Dodge makes.

The heavier vehicle has to make more horsepower/torque to balance the skewed power to weight ratio versus the Corvette. Nice try.

It's all torque with a diesel that's why they win. A 358 cubic inch Nascar motors makes more than 800 hp, Butt only around 560 ft/lbs a torque. If you want torque you run forced induction, nitrous or LONG LONG stroke crank shafts that make big cubic inch motors. Torque moves weight. The more you got the quicker you move it.

ya, it was 500 plus HP with nos, 2005, 6 speed duelly (sp?) chipped, big pump, injectors, ...the works!! we were neck and neck for about 100 feet and then i smoked him. then we did a rolling start at about 30mph. he did better but i still beat him by a few links. don't get me wrong, but diesel trucks are for WORK not speed. whoever says vettes suck obviously never drove or owned one! i've had 5 now and they are BUILT to go FAST. also, that isn't a Zo6! they push around 600 HP and run over 200mph
