I like the principle that this is dancing, to music, not gymnastics. You could tell sugar rae didn't have the flexibility of Kenzo nor even the technicality but undoubtedly you could feel the FUNK. Argh, I'd hate to judge between these two as you need both!

props to both lockers. The key to locking (no pun intended) is about being funky and feeling the music, not about how well you can do canned moves to music. Kenzo is definitely a skilled locker but he just wasn't funky enough IMO, Sugar Rae did alot less but I felt it more.

wtf. sugar's performance rocked, but for the competition or battle imo kenzo fully delivered in terms of Lockin style and technique.

Perhaps those judges have a set of criteria and expectations different from what we would normally have. Nonetheless, different dancers delivered in different aspect of dance, whilst Sugar displayed the essence of dance in funk style as a form of enjoyment while Kenzo demonstrated the beautiful matrimony between techniques and music. Each with their own merits.
