bikes are super fast in acceleration. as far as braking and turning they dont have a big enough tire contact patch to beat a car. 99.9% of the time any current sportbike stock will have little trouble beating ANY car in acceleration without any problem. current 600s run mid 10s stock. there are VERY few street cars and even fewer production cars doing that.
I never raced or anything and no one in my family did either, i was more into BMX freestyle and skate boarding but always loved the thought of riding a motorcycle, my dad had an old honda when i was a young kid and took me on it, that might've been it...who knows! a pocket rocket i almost bought my son one already, but the guy sold it before i got there, but probably should wait a lil longer anyways, but i would've had fun on it now,lol...
ya it is expensive, but worth it...i couldnt live without my bike it would just suck and my wife to be tried that with me a couple years ago before my son was born and i was like just cuz i am going not be a dad does not mean i cant still ride, and now she is ok with it and my 2 yr son just loves watching me ride and does lil stunts on his lil trikes and what not around the house, its too funny!

@pakhero4lyf I ride bike and drive car. I think its a bit of both. And quite a few bike crashes are just down to in experienced bike riders. I mean you get guys passing theirs tests on 125cc bikes and then jumping onto 180bhp 1000cc bikes. Not always a good thing

The statistics vary but typically in car + bike two vehicle accidents the car driver is found at fault 67% of the time, so this speaks better of motorcyclists than your comment does (Just clarifying, I understand your point). However, bikes suffer from a LOT of single vehicle accidents which aggravates authorities.

Most Bikes have a better power to weight ratio than most cars and will pull similar cornering G's, but, most sport bikes take a full second to make directional changes going into corners whereas cars are nearly instant.
Gyroscopic forces are not what keeps a bike upright but they do make it easier to keep a bike up right.

bikes are faster than cars on straight line is not just down to power to weight ratio but also the fact that cars deflect a lot of air over and underneath it to create downforce that increase as the speed does to give it grip (extra weight, tht's y down force are in kilos) while bike stays up right thanks to the gyroscopic force and simply cut the atmosphere in half and goes like stink...

depends on what your refering to on straight line one q quarter mile or a mile race yes the bike will win but if you put it on the autobahn side by side top end no chance at the top end speed if its like a corvett zr1 or a ferrari enzo or the fxx the car will always do faster stocked to stock no modification at all becuase no stock bikes not even new 2010 ninjas do over 200 stocked

What's wrong with people?! Bikes have been killing car's for decades, I own a 1984 honda v4 sabre, and thanks to some modifications has had it's max speed raised from 158 to 197 mph, (yes the modifications make it hard to prove if i could even beat the current under 1000cc record legally sence the modifications aren't often accepted as being stable or safe) but keep in mind how fast sports cars were in 1984, and i'm on the smaller 700cc, motorcycles win b-cuz of the effective power vs load

bikes are super fast in acceleration. as far as braking and turning they dont have a big enough tire contact patch to beat a car. 99.9% of the time any current sportbike stock will have little trouble beating ANY car in acceleration without any problem. current 600s run mid 10s stock. there are VERY few street cars and even fewer production cars doing that.

I never raced or anything and no one in my family did either, i was more into BMX freestyle and skate boarding but always loved the thought of riding a motorcycle, my dad had an old honda when i was a young kid and took me on it, that might've been it...who knows! a pocket rocket i almost bought my son one already, but the guy sold it before i got there, but probably should wait a lil longer anyways, but i would've had fun on it now,lol...
