  • This is my ice show song

  • Es el himno se mi vida// this is the hymn of my life

  • LUMINITA SOARE - DAS LEBEN IST KABARETT MUSIKFILM CABARET

  • I find this so very sad.

  • @guntzborg why?

  • its time....taste the whine

  • This classic Kander and Ebb and Liza!

  • She sounds just like her mother Judy Garland

  • Anyone else notice that she has the same green nail polish through the whole movie? LOL. I love her! This is one of my favorites!

  • @WillowandLillith Not the whole film. When her father was about to visit her, she took it off.

  • @WillowandLillith That's because the actual Sally Bowles, Jean Ross, always used that green nail polish... :)

  • I love Liza! XD

  • no its not suposed to be sallys breakdown because this is the actual movie ive seen the play and its her breakdown moment but they change it they didnt make it up!!! the movie had to think of it!

  • So she's a Vulkan?

  • I wish I cold give more than 5 stars.

  • She's a fantastic singer, but this song is supposed to be Sally's breakdown, not "Sally sings great and then gets a nice applause".

  • Well, keep in mind, this movie was interpreted much differently. Some songs were tossed, some were added. It's more like a movie with music, not sung specifically through the songs. The songs were performed in the actual "Kit Kat Klub." Fosse actually cut every song that didn't take place on the stage of the club, excluding Tomorrow Belongs to Me. The story progresses the story, not the music.

I personally feel there is no breakdown of Sally. She "falls" in love, gets pregnant, aborts it, and

  • then Brian leaves. The story seemed to focus less on the cabaret and more on the uprise of the Nazi party. It ends differently. Instead of the weaving of songs withing Wilkommen, a drum roll is heard and you can see the Nazi armbands overtaking the audience. The lights don't go out, the screen fades.

The stage is such a different medium than movies that they naturally change certain scenes or portrayals. It's common.

I do agree, however, that the song loses some of it's tone in this performance.

  • It is made on purpose. This is a a song about desperation, yet it sounds happy and cheerful, just like everything Liza's character does.

This is all Sally's life is about: singing and having fun, without thinking about tomorrow, because life's too short to be taken seriously.

After all, life is a cabaret.

  • @AtLastOnTheGround that´s because it is showing that the show must go on whatever happens

  • Fabulous! thanks Tabboo! I love Liza singing this Song. her in her purple fringe pantsuit And look at those bangin bangs.

  • did yuuh know she julie andrews daughter?! thats wat makes her brill! WELL DONE LIZZI!!!!!1

  • not julie andrews..judy garland

  • yeah pretty sure

  • You mean Judy Garland?

  • "What good is sitting alone In your room? Come hear the music play. Life is a Cabaret, old chum, Come to the Cabaret. Put down the knitting, The book and the broom. It's time for a holiday. Life is a Cabaret, old chum Come to the Cabaret. Come taste the wine, Come hear the band. Come blow a horn, Start celebrating; Right this way, Your table's waiting.
  • Liza isn't very pretty but does she have a voice!

  • Are you kidding me?

She's gorgeous. I wish I looked like her.

  • I think she's beautiful I love her hair in this movie/musical

  • wow

  • I love this movie. Been tryin to get my hands on it for a while. Saw it when i was like 6/7 and loved it since.

  • The song is so true. Great movie.
