  • Hands up if you think Conley is going to win now. OMG OMG OMG OMG

  • THE LAND WOULDN'T HAVE COME IN TAPPED AT 7:00

  • Conley Woods is a mufkn champion

  • maybe im missing something, but in the first 5 seconds of the video, I see conley has a glint hawk in play but only a colorless land, what happened there?

  • @xwarrior666x He had a Mox Opal.

  • @DahCakins Oh he bounced it but didn't played it again, thanks

  • @xwarrior666x he played a mox opal which costs zero and with metalcraft (which he had) you can make one of any color mana with.

  • Somebody to tell Conley to stop flipping his stupid cards around in his stupid hand.

  • Noob question: why on earth is the guy on the left with black sleeves constantly shuffling the cards in his hand? Nervous habit or part of the game?

  • @theraiderrobert Not really either, some players do it just because its habit, not really nervous, just gives them something to do to take pressure off them

  • Should've appealed what?

  • @GenzaiDandy the fact that conley made a mistake putting his land into play tapped when it shouldn't have. If you're going to be in the pros you can't make a mistake like that...he should've lost... because of that mistake.

  • I stopped watching after he didn't mana leak and let his hero be exiled... he would of won easily that first bit...

  • @ArcanexKnight conley had 3 mana open to pay for the leak...mox and two lands

  • @ArcanexKnight he couldn't mana leak conely had 3 mana woulda been a waste

  • Last match Wescoe v Woods, Wescoe Should have played Timely instead of Geist Hunter. The hero of bladehold was 3/4 compared to Geist of st traft 4/4. He would have either forced a chump block or got his damage through anyways and had 3 3/3s a turn earlier.

  • Wescoe is the reason this is a 3 day event...

  • Conley & Wescoe... awesome players, awesome matches!

  • Conley Mothafuckin Woods!!!

  • conley "its a keeper" woods? more like CONLEY MOTHERFUCKIN WOODS

  • Luis could have played the skirge putting him at 1 then used that to block the birds then played tempered next turn with the mana he would have drawn... might have made a difference

  • @flyingpig1110 Mortarpod equipped

  • OH MY GOOOOODODOODODODOSIAFHWPIUB[AHQ934[H9GAIUE493JU23w8hebfwy9ar-z8h=begu[aizh-9auiAzhbiupxj;b wow that was crazy yall

  • dont thumbs up spoilers :(

  • Richard Hagon adds WAY to much emphasis on EVERYthing.

  • stunned by conleys win

  • richard hagon is a loser

  • I wish they would show all of the matches, not a round here and a round there...

  • What a great game(s)

  • Lol, Josh Utter-Leyton's mum must be soo proud.

  • Why did Creig Wescoe not have 2 gut shots, than it have ben a tie....

  • Conley doesn't get mana-screwed. Mana gets conley-screwed.

  • ffs hold your cards still. It annoys me to no end if they keep shuffling cards like that.

  • lol at the comment

"Lots of red- hot tapping action"

  • So . . . Pro players don't make eye contact to each other huh?

    Weird.

  • It's legendary... my bad guys. (leaving then two comments in case anyone else has the same brain fart)

  • Why didn't he cast Gheist end of turn? He would've had 4 attackers the following turn, securing a win. What am I missing here???

  • Este Graig é um retardado mental.... idiota.

  • FUCK TEMPERED STEEL.I PLAYED CUNEO UW CONTROL AND 8 WRATH EFFECTS BACKED UP BY 2 BURIED RUIN AND 2 SNAPCASTER MAGE BOTH TO REUSE WRATHS BUTTRAPED IT.Tempered Steel was dead at about after the 4th out of 12 wrath effect

  • @HadesDoomOcculta well aren't you special?

  • u gotta say - their good comentators:)

  • and still played timely

  • only thing i don't get is why didn't wescoe play moorland haunt the turn he play timely he coulda moorland haunted the fiend hunter giving him a 3/3 flyer

  • I think that conley coulda lost of Wescoe played his geist

  • 1:18:40 did he take woods stolen glint hawk?

  • how is possible that woods had turn one that glint hawk without white mana.. Am I missing something?

  • @wosmahl Woods played a Mox Opal turn one which was bounced by Glint Hawk but not replayed.

  • can someone explain to me why wescoe didn't mana leak the dispatch, he would have been swinging in with 4 tokens, bladehold, mirran crusader all pumped with battle cry and honor of the pure....that is 21 damage, that means the conely would have died.

  • @NameGenerator97 because Woods had 3 mana open? (2 lands and mox opal)

  • Are you aware that you have one poison?

  • I remember being excited to watch these games. Now it's all the same Titans, and Tempered Steel crap, they go to 4 different games but they all look the same. Such a shame with how much diversity this game leaves for itself its becoming this repetitive.

  • Needs a 30 minute long edit, and a 10 minute long edit of the final match

  • Jun'ya, respect for being a Magic player that's not fat and that actually looks normal.

  • Conley has the heart of the cards

  • @ltrizzle84 u give mtg a bad name by making that referring

  • 59:19 DON'T BE YAWNING DUDE, FOCUS

  • 1:22:00 for one of the greatest games of Magic ever played

  • i still don't know how conley won this.

  • @AvKriftan he didn't...

  • @AvKriftan I play a Geist Aggro deck similar to Wescoe, and Temp Steel is just too damn powerful most of the time. I've stared down a turn 2 Temp Steel (with a mox opal and a land drop) and been down to 10 life on turn 2. (two memnites and a signal pest turn 1)

Tempered Steel is still legit. Its the fastest deck in standard.

  • @AvKriftan spoiler alert!

  • @AvKriftan Good topdecks and amazing play

  • he should have negated when he killed his hero of blade

  • Comment removed

  • Some finish Woods. Great final match.

  • @sarroth thats most likely the reason he plays like that, if it might irk his opponent they might play slightly worse

  • Obviously I know that Conley thought it came in untapped since he didn't use the mana. In the swiss there's no way that Wescoe loses the appeal but they have some weird rulings in PT top 8s like in PT LA where Billy Moreno wasn't allowed to mana burn after making the same mistake twice and also didn't get a game loss after activating a Cephalid Coliseum without threshold

  • As much as I dislike Craig Wescoe he was right about appealing. The fact that Conley put the land into play tapped and then moved through his attack step would give Wescoe a good case that Conley tapped the land for mana. Technically the land should be untapped but you often see players put lands into play tapped when they're using them for mana which is kind of what Conley did. If they had noticed it before he attacked it would be fine but after that I think it should remained tapped.

  • I feel like the announcers aren't the brightest lads in the bunch.

  • @ki1ng They need to dumb it down a bit so newer players get what's going on. Brian David-Marshal is a respected competitive player

  • and plains!

  • At the 28 minute mark, the game is being played & the camera is on Wescoe's face. Wotc still is clueless how to use cameras & it's been how many years now?

  • I really do not like Rich Hagon's commentary. He uses too much strange made-up slang and shorthand which is confusing. When he says things like, "Attack, in, in! Conley says 'three'," it is really bothersome. Why can't he just say, "Wescoe attacks with his two creatures, bringing Conley down to 3?"

  • @justicarphaeton umm... cuz that's boring. His commentary isn't all that bad. His personality actually makes his commentary more than decent.

  • It seems like Craig was getting rattled by the way Woods was playing... He said after the first game he should've appealed Woods incorrectly playing his land tapped and he stops him two or three times during games two and three when Conley goes to draw a card before Wescoe has officially passed the turn. Wonder how much of that had something to do with him losing. Side note: Craig Wescoe is old school. And a VERY good magic player.

  • @BF7286 It all had to do with him losing, appealing in that situation is just unsportsmanlike rules lawyering to an extreme and has nothing to do with playing the game fairly, which is what appeals should be about. When you're playing for thousands of dollars and the potential to be World Champion, though, some will do anything no matter how unsportsmanlike.

  • @childoftantos because conley could have paid for it, he had a active mox opal u probably didnt see

  • corny*

  • Anyone else think Richard Hagan gives extremely corner commentary?

  • so why didn't Craig manaleak the dispatch? I feel like that move lost him game 1

  • No matter how many times that guy rearranges his hand, it wont change his hand at all.

  • @shinkare Most players shuffle their hands constantly. It's a nervous tic.

  • What was the style was it limited cuz i saw some really old cards

  • @SirThrun This is standard

  • weight** heh

  • Luis has lost alot of wieght! lol

  • @Voltron1774 Caplan too =)

  • first- how did conley cast glint hawk off of inkmoth nexusand second- did conley ever take the two life from casting vault kirge?

  • game 2 craig has a hand of removal, should def just hit memnite and take out what is obvioulsy either nothing or etched champs in conleys hand. if he hits memnite game 2 he blows him out

  • with the 2nd relic warder

  • That Craig is such a jackass, glad he's the only one that lost to a Fireball-er.

  • Conley's mistake didn't change anything, Craig. You still couldn't block the pair of fliers. Nothing else affected.

  • What were those markings on Wescoe's Hero of Bladehold and Doomed Traveler in game one?

  • @LaskaHunter7 Those markings are used to make sure no one cheats during big tournament drafting like Grand Prix's, Pro Tours Etc. They don't lower the value of the cards and they are used to make sure they don't use any outside assistance to their decks.

  • @rsr2 ah, got it. I play some tournament magic but not at the GP or PTQ level. It just stuck me as odd to have makings on the cards that were for sure not sideboard cards in game 1.

  • Why didn't Wescoe mana leak the dispatch on his Hero first game? It seems like it would have been a win...

  • @PZenki Conley had 3 mana.

  • @SAYPvideos @defias182 Wow, I completely forgot about his Opal, all right.

  • @PZenki because Woods had two lands and the opal untapped to pay the extra three.

  • U cant se the cards? That sucks! Why no zoom in on the cards as the enter the battlefield??????

  • LSV losing makes me sad! GOGO LSV, CFB!!

  • Everything got down to the silly bird. still i dunno what the odds would have been. craig draw pretty bad the entire game.

  • "let's take a look at what's comming at my face" WTF???? Hagon: sexual remarks much?

  • iyanaga got so lucky with those 3 inferno titans =[

  • craig could just created a spirit to win but he is too dumb to do that

  • Comment removed

  • @lucidsolutions Wescoe in the last game could've won with Moorland Haunt? You're aware he has to exile a creature as part of the activation?

Wescoe wouldn't miss something like that. There were NO creatures in the graveyard.

  • @dar482 Oh my bad, I thought Conley had dismembered that Fiend Hunter (previous game), but he dispatch exiled it this game.

  • Thumbs up whenever they say "Tremendous"

  • I hate that Richard Hagon guy.

  • If all the magic players were like Wescoe I would have killed myself. seriously.

  • where in the world can one get a table like that??

  • I'm pleased to see Conley has the same taste in Plains as I do.

  • ZOOM IN DAMNIT!!!

  • what's the point of having the life total overlay if you don't update them?

  • I feel Craig Wescoe should have been English. He makes me think of Doctor Who whenever the camera is on him.

  • @LegendInc He makes me think of "Underworld" viktor, bill nighy. Reminds me a LOT of him.

  • bummed wescoe lost

  • Paulo puts his lands in front of his creatures... I know it shouldn't, but it totally annoys me.

  • @sarroth I used to do it too but then I started playing Limited and makes combat steps really awkward when the lands are in the way.

  • @sarroth Why shouldn't it annoy you? I personally can think of no reason to do that except to confuse your opponent by obfuscating important information and making combat more irritating for them.

  • @sarroth pre 6th edition starter packs had a paper sheet to use as a game mat and your lands were on top of your other permanents next to your deck, many players learn it that way.

  • why didnt wescoe mana leak the dispatch in game one????

  • @dscglfr00 cause he would just pay lol

  • @dscglfr00 He had the mox opal to pay for it

  • wescoe would have won if he had played the second geist the turn before, right?

  • @captRhay Geist is a legendary, so if he played it, they both would've been put into the bin. :)

  • @zMasvidal oh yeah, thnx for clearing that up.

  • the white balance varies from your overhead cameras to your other cameras, slightly jarring when you switch between them

  • craig wescoe is the single creepiest motherfucker i have ever seen.

  • @andybossglass look up viktor from underworld or just search actor "bill niyh" and he looks a LOT like him IMO

  • I can't stand the British guy, he speaks in nothing but little cute phrases and doesn't seem to really understand the game at a level enough to comment on this.

  • @supergeorge3333

    I second that

  • @supergeorge3333 Yup. Hagon pisses me off to no end. It's funny, when Randy Beuhler retired from doing the commentary, they replaced him with someone even worse. Randy wasn't great, but he at least had a fundamental understanding of magic, and questioned odd plays that the pros would make. Hagon automatically assumes that because a pro makes a play, it is therefore instantly correct. He does the play-by-play decently, but there's no color commentary.

  • did he miss a haunt activation on the last turn...?

  • @cubik124 I don't think he had a creature in his graveyard. Anything that did get removed was dispatched which exiled the creature.

  • Richard Bland looks like Timmy from the Whitest Kids U'Know

  • 1st rule of magic:NEVER KEEP 1 LAND!!!

  • Is it me or Hagon doen't care much for Woods?

  • if i've learnt anything from the thousands of magic games, then it's that you shouldn't keep a 1 land hand. keeping it is just relying on luck and being greedy.

  • Wish the Top 8 would have had a pod deck. They are so underrated.

  • @jmccain839 i believe there must be more sets to have a top pod deck,i m a believer too

  • Wescoe would have won if he played the geist of saint traft the same turn he plays timely reinforcements.

  • @theCharmoftheSeer

Geist of Saint Traft is Legendary.

  • what did wescoe say at the end of the first game?

  • BONER JAMSSSSS

  • Is there a reason Conley tapped his Nexus the final turn? Doesn't that give him one less creature to block with?

  • WHOA! that last game of Conley Woods vs Craig Wescoe is SUPER EXCITING!

  • I WILL BLOCK WITH A GLINT HAWK! I'M CONLEY WOODS!

  • Tempered steel is such a boring deck to play against "hurr free creatures pump them"

  • at 0:57:31 why didn't LSV just animate Glint Hawk Idol to block Birds ??

  • @MrGarruk123 he was dead to mortarpod pinging him 3 times

  • That last game is unbelievable. Spread the word!

  • Conley Woods played that perfect amazing job man!

  • Conley Woods, o cómo jugar a Magic contra una especie de cerdo de matanza asquerosamente serio.

  • great games of magic

  • Holy lord that last game from Conley was absolutely fantastic! Perfect play

  • @TheAmazingARD I know...I was there watching it live, and the crowd went fucking nuts. It was amazing :D.

  • @TheAmazingARD more like an overrated fatty who just had luck of the draw.

  • @Greenlexluther : I agree that the game was nothing out of the ordinary. No sick plays or hard choices were made, but you kind of undermine your comment when you call him a fatty though.

  • @TheAmazingARD Was it really so fantastic? Nothing extraordinary there. It's just the commentators that suck so much, they don't have a clue what's happening. He had no real choices really, ever. The only choice Conley made was to not kill the geist os saint taft so that he could swing back for 22 damage. An easy choice really.

  • @TheAmazingARD Allmost, except by the Seachrome Coast played tapped !

  • @Schneider0112 That's why they made top 8 worlds, right?
