  • This is so twisted. First amendment advocates? The first amendment says NOTHING about the "separation of church and state."

  • To hell with the flag!

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER7 it's not the flag, it more like TO HELL WITH GOD. We need to get god out of our public schools....schools are for teaching not preaching.

  • @anthemsguy2008 You are just another American buffoon. Why would anyone but a complete idiot , want to pledge allegiance to something as disgusting as the American flag. It shows what you are. Just like a true American, to say they put country over the creator. Way to go Nimrod!

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER7 THERE IS NO GOD, THERE NEVER WAS AND THERE NEVER WILL BE A GOD. DAMN CHRISTIANS. I'M A PROUD ATHEIST AND I LOVE MY COUNTRY. GET GOD THE HELL OUT OFF OUR GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

  • @anthemsguy2008 I am not a Christian you pathetic excuse for a lower organism. May all the blood of your disgusting forefathers come upon you.

  • @anthemsguy2008 Haha, even has a confederate flag. What a pathetic excuse for human life you are.

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER7 There's nothing wrong with the confederate flag, the confederate flag is not racest, some people are racest, the confederate flag is heritage not hate and is used as a symbol of the south and nothing more then that.

  • America, land of the FREE. <3

  • If kids still had to recite the Pledge of Allegiance this country wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.

  • @mikeswanon8989 I agree with you.

  • All these comments just show one thing. You who don't believe in God think that we Christians should just shut up and keep our prayers at home and in Church. You take advantage of the 1st Amendment and practice freedom of speech. You expect us Christians to be tolerant towards you, yet you don't show any tolerance towards Christians or their 1st Amendment Right. You are ignorant and disrespectful ... PITIFUL ...

  • @CharlieVIE0104 your the ones who harass us for not believing in your god and for your information the first amendment was put in place to have equal rights for all people

  • @thehoodlum1919 I never said that you have to believe in GOD. That is up to you. But you can't asked Christians to shut up and only say prayer behind closed doors either. And just to fill you in on the first Amendment ... exactly equal rights. So if you can say what you want, wherever you want, so can we Christians, and that includes prayers in public schools.

  • @CharlieVIE0104 it also says separation of church and state witch is all im trying to get at

  • @thehoodlum1919 I understand what you are trying to say. But does that include that Christians have to give up their first Amendment right and are not allowed to pray because some muslims feel offended, but they are allowed to pray and bring religious objects to school?

  • @CharlieVIE0104 yes i agree that is stupid i am saying no religion should be allowed in our schools

  • @CharlieVIE0104 your wrong, us Atheist don't go around forceing people to become an Atheist, but Christians on the other hand tend to push there religion on others, like by puting UNDER GOD in the pledge a way to force your god on us in a way that make you look inasent, keep the pledge just remove the UNDER GOD back to way it once was before 1954. If you want kids to pray in school, then send them to a christian school instead of a public school.

  • @CharlieVIE0104 Your misunder standing what we're saying, we saying you can do your praying in public but not in a public office, public schools or any other public office, when I say you can say your prayers in public I'm talking like on the street or in a park. Your just misunderstanding us in what we're saying, we not trying to take your god from you, we just don't want religion in our government and public offices and schools that all we're try say.

  • "The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature. . . . [In] the formation of the American governments . . . it will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of heaven. . . . These governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses." President John Adams

  • I also agree that this is a free country, but let me ask you this. Why should this country do anything for you, if you don't even want to say the Pledge of Allegiance to this country? There are thousands of soldiers risking their lives every single day. And the least we can do is to Pledge our Allegiance to them and the country they fight for. You want all the benefits America has to offer, but you won't say that if needed you will do everything in your power to make this a great country?

  • Look people...The whole "under god" thing is the reason this is such a huge debacle...I have never in my life said "one nation under god" when I said the pledge, not even when I was little. Relgious people are selfish by nature, they are arrogant and have a knack for blindly following whoever shouts the loudest, and they ALWAYS have to have the world pandering to their needs and wants. It's been this way forever, and will stay this way until they die off. say it or don't, but don't make drama

  • @Deciblaster

Aren't the 10 Commandments the backbone of our laws?

    Honor thy father and mother

    Thou shalt not kill

    Thou shalt not commit adultery

    Thou shalt not steal

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's

  • @CharlieVIE0104 O.k. where is the one about rape, or child molestation? Or greed? not envy either, greed. And these commandments match our laws because

A: people are dumb enough to think this is a christian nation, even though that would imply that we have a pseudo fascist reign on our people, which is half the reason we left England in the first place?

B: These should be rules you live by anyway...you shouldn't need a pretend invisible man in the sky to scare you into doing these things...

  • @CharlieVIE0104 Also, why is it that the ones who preach the loudest about these commandments are the ones who disobey them the most? Our society is built around coveting thy neighbors EVERYTHING, and bearing false witness against another as to get ahead. And does "thou shall not kill" include hunting on a full stomach? or killing in the name of profit, like these wars? Or how about not stealing? You know, like our thieving system of government? yeah...those are meaningless....

  • @Deciblaster First I didn't say our laws are only Biblical laws, I said they are based on Biblical laws. You need to read more carefully or learn to understand English. Secondly you are describing exactly the government who is trying to get God out of everything. Hence ... corruption, thieves, liars. What do you expect from people who have no morals, no guidelines and no respect.

  • @Deciblaster Do you realize, that all you and that @damnbigfish can do is insulting me? You haven't brought anything of value to this discussion or said anything without calling me and my fellow Christians names. You say there is freedom of speech in this country, yet you want Christians to shut up in schools and don't say prayers in public anymore. Where is the freedom of speech here?

  • @CharlieVIE0104 I have not insulted you one time, I simply gave you a brash opinion...which is what this public forum is for. And I never said Christians should shut up in schools, but they surely should not have the right to take priority over scientific teachings...THAT is nonsense. You don't teach beliefs in school, you teach facts and theory. And they can say prayers in public, they just can't cast judgement and try and force their way into my gov. They're so self centered...

  • Another reason to defy robotic chanting/brainwashing: the Pledge of Allegiance was the origin of Nazi salutes and Nazi behavior. See the work of the historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets"). There are youtube videos showing the early American Nazi salute. There are eye-popping old photos. People were persecuted in the USA for refusing to chant and nazi salute, at the same time that Germany did it too. No one would pledge if government schools taught the truth about it.

  • You are sending your child to a public school in the great US of A. So hell yeah your child will say the Pledge of Allegiance and will say "under God". This country was founded on biblical believes and if you don't like it crawl back into the whole you came from, we don't need you or your children here.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you can take everything this country is based on. When God was in the schools, there were no shootings in school. So again, you don't like it, I help you pack

  • @CharlieVIE0104 You show your intelligence with your own comment...here's a little tip too my friend..Read the constitution and make sure you understand it correctly before you go spouting YOUR opinion on what it means, because it doesn't match the real facts. "this country could be the greatest system ever shown to man if there were no religion in it" - Thomas Jefferson....yeah, the guy that basically wrote the thing. I do think this pledge thing is stupid tho...say it, or don't, it's freedom

  • @Deciblaster Well Deciblaster ... I believe that the first Amendment actually guarantees me exactly that right to "spout MY opinion" or am I wrong here? Maybe you should start reading again? And as far as I know, and that is again My opinion, to which I have a right to, this country was founded on "Biblical Believes".

  • @CharlieVIE0104 YOUR opinion...How arrogant must you be to assume YOUR opinion is worthy of being forced down the throats of every person in the country? That's fascism, sir. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." It seems you guys always conveniently forget about the last half. That first amendment goes both ways. I don't persecute you, and in return, you don't attempt to shove it down my kid's throat! TOLERANCE

  • @Deciblaster I quote you again:" ... or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...". So how come they can prohibit Christian prayers in public schools? Explain that one to me?

  • @Deciblaster What @CharlieVIE0104 don't seem to understand is that the United States is a secular nation giving us all to believe in any religion or non religion we choose it's not a Christian nation like the say it is, Thomas Jefferson one of our founding fathers said "The United States is not in any way shap or form founding on religion" but christian seem to think it is. Christians should just give up this fight cause they're not going to win this battle.

  • @CharlieVIE0104 Did you learn your spelling and grammar at an American public school? Was god there at that time? What did you do to offend him?

  • @damnbigfish If my grammar and my spelling are the only worry you have, I feel sorry for you. It just shows that you and @Deciblaster have nothing to say, but to attack people and write insults. Freedom of speech, yes, you will have to listen to my prayers, that is my first amendment right. So God Bless you and may the holy spirit enlighten your troubled soul.

  • @CharlieVIE0104 I have not insulted one person, you are simply insulted because someone else who doesn't agree with you is expressing their opinion too...It's not my fault you guys constantly manipulate historical documents to force your personal beliefs on the rest of us. I want to live my life in peace and not be made to feel like a piece of garbage for it. I think if our kids are forced to pray to god, then they have to pray to Alah and read an excerpt from the Quran too then also...Fair?

  • @Deciblaster I never said that your children have to pray and believe me, I love a good discussion more than anything else. You tend to globalize Christians. twist my words. Like when I said "is based on biblical believes" you understood the Bible is the law. You question my intelligence, well what about yours? I don't know you in person, so I would never judge you based on these comments. Hey for all I know we might be able to discuss all this over a beer if we would ever meet in person.

  • @CharlieVIE0104 You seem to think that this country was found on your so called biblical believes and I have to call you a lyer...our founding father came to this new land to excape the religous wars of europe and making this country a secular nation giving everyone the right to believe in any religion or non religion we choose, not just yours, you need to get your facts straight.

  • Can they take out the America part out of their name. CLU

  • @pimpedpope yeah, because you guys are the only ones allowed to have civil liberties right? They weren't meant for everyone to enjoy...lmao

  • @Deciblaster Actually the constitution specifically says for them and their children...lmao

  • Compare this video with the Aimed At America 1 video. KARMA!

  • The ACLU uses free speech to protest against it.

  • @jimmyjohnsonrocks123 Right, because forcing children to pledge their allegiance is definitely part of free speech

  • you should be proud to live in this country and proud to say the pledge. however with the pride and respect for this country also comes with the pride and respect of possibly its greatest right, the freedom of speech, or rather in this case the freedom not to speak. So should they be allowed to not say the pledge, absolutely. should they decide to not say the pledge, well that is up to them i mean after all it is their freedom of speech and they decide how to use it, and no 1 can take that away

  • 1:16-1:21....Are those kids doing what I think they're doing?

  • If they would just take "UNDER GOD" out of the pledge of Allegiance putting it back to the way it once was before 1954 which read: I pedge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, for wich it stands, One Nation, Invistiable, with liberty and Justice for all.

It wasn't till 1954 when the Knights of Columbus apealed to Congress to add Under God to the pledge. For people like me who's an Atheist it's offensive to us, you can keep your religion but we don't want it in schools.

  • @anthemsguy2008 Well, so you want your freedom of speech and say what you want, but we Christians have to shut up? Does the freedom of Speech not apply to us? Why can't we pray in Schools? You take my tax money to fund public schools? Right? I respect you being an Atheist, but you have to respect that there are Christians. Freedom of speech does not mean it protects you from hearing prayers, it means that I can say a prayer whenever and wherever I want to. Amen! God Bless you! God Bless America!

  • @CharlieVIE0104 Nobody said you can't pray in schools. I still don't understand, how the hell does having the ability to have personal prayer time translate into the entire population being forced to say "one nation under god"....That's overboard and honestly, that's the kind of thing that fascists and communists used to do to indoctrinate their citizens..

  • @Deciblaster I have to agree, you never did say that we can't pray in school (maybe indirectly you did, but I would have to go through all the comments again to find it), but your government does prohibit prayers in school. I believe you said something like they can't make you listen to prayers, but I'm not sure, so I just leave it at that. The government though is very clear on the NO-Prayers-in-school policy.

  • @CharlieVIE0104 All us Atheist are saying you can have your religion that fine, but just keep it out of our public schools, government, courts and any other public office. Any who believe in a god should keep that between you, your church, family and your god, but it has no right being in our schools, buy having prayer in school or under god in the pledge is just a way to push your religion on those that don't believe that non-sense of there being a god.

  • I love how the ONLY objection they have to the pledge is the "under God" part... what about the whole "pledging to the flag and republic" nonsense in its entirety?

  • @Slacktoo What? that's absolute nonsense, you don't even want to pledge allegiance to the country that allowed you to have this life? Sounds a little on the ungrateful side my friend..?

  • NOthing wrong with this it shows allegiance to the country and displince to teach to kids .supposed to teach loyality and respect to our country so when there the future leaders they can keep freedom from not ending thats all i donk know why there making a big deal out of it they trying to end america in secret

  • You are not required to say it. That is good. But if you will not, please leave.

  • ACLU is going down.

  • @soadpwnsyou

Kids don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance anyways. The teachers can't make them. This is a pointless argument by ACLU.

  • Being a High school senior in Virginia, we have the pledge receited on the intercom everyday. Well everyone stands up and puts their hands over their hearts and dont recite it. Some will just stand there. Then there are the kids who sit down at there desk and cross their arms like they dont care. Like they dont fucking care. I think "Wow youre fucking ignorant. Their are men and women having their legs blown off on some battlefield and you cant get up for 10 fucking seconds and show some respect

  • @HotxRugbyxPlayer to them? They have fought, bled, died, and even seen their buddies been blown apart in two for your pitiful existence on this earth. And you cant even get up and show them the respect theyve earned?" Thats one of the only things that makes me mad. I bet half of you will agree. I think i make a valid point. Ridiculous. My generation really does not care anymore.

  • @HotxRugbyxPlayer I didn't fight in Vietnam to make these students respect me. I fought to give them the rights to be ABLE to do the very thing you condemn. That is: "disrespecting" soldiers.

  • @HotxRugbyxPlayer

you would pledge allegiance to the very country that sends them off to die in undeclared wars started, fought, and ended while violating the constitution every step of the way?

(look it up, people, neither korea nor vietnam were never declared by congress which is the ONLY body with the power to do so)

as to the soldiers. sure, why not. but respecting them has nothing to do with allegiance to "the republic".

  • FUCK THE ACLU

  • Its not communism when THEY do it

  • aclu is the biggest joke. all it is is a "club" for people who are social outcasts and losers who never had friends or dates. they want to belong to something and this is the only group that will accept them. sorry life. too bad they don't have my happy, normal, friendly spiritually lifting life!! if only they could go to school and get educated, they too could be happy and thankful for their blessings.

  • ACLU is a dangerous organization. Their founder Roger Baldwin always said "Communism is the Goal". ACLU defends terrorists and Obamacare. Think about it. Obamacare is socialistic principal, Obama is a socialist, but no lawsuits against Obama administration. ACLU is just partisan rags for the Socialist Democrats.

  • @FFFFbody HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you're retarded.

  • @FFFFbody The ACLU has also defended extremely conservative Christians as well as Rush Limbaugh. They are currently opposing the president over wiretaps, drone assassinations, and the state secrets privilege to name 3 issues.

They defend principles, not people or ideologies.

  • @majinspy That's what doesn't make sense to me. Why why why do they defend terrorists when these terrorists wouldn't think twice slitting the throat of an ACLU laywer or his child? And theyonly defen conservative Christians and Rush to pay lip-service. What about the hundreds of lawsuits they've filed to eliminate 10 commandments from court houses, "under God" in pledge at school, school prayer? And don't give me "separtaion of Church and State" answer, either. Thank you.

  • @FFFFbody Sorry, you don't get to tell me what arguments I can't make. I think separation of church and state is important to the state and is equally important to churches. I can't think of any state religion that is successful. Either it is an awful theocracy (Iran / other islamic republics) or the religion becomes ossified (european religion). America is so religious because religions are free fromt he state to be what they want.

In any event, the state should be and is secular.

  • @majinspy Hey buddy, I agree with a lot what you just wrote. But what does "ossified" mean? The problem I have with, though, is the ACLU wants to eliminate ALL traces of our Judea-Christian foundation. I believe, in order for a country to succeed and thrive, God needs to be "observed" or atleast "acknoweldged", yes, that's a better word- acknowledged. So, man-made law needs to be grounded in Natural Law. Natural Law is inscribed on the hearts of men. Natural Law is derived from God. The Founders

  • @FFFFbody Ossified means "turned to stone". Think of the English Anglican church. Without the freedom to change, state religions sort of slowly die. The problem with acknowledging God is how to do it. This country has Catholics, muslims, Jews, etc. This is the first country to have formed itself in a fully secular way. I think it's done us well.

I have no problem with your religion, but if I go to a court I don't want to see the 10 commandments or Sharia on a plaque above the Judge's head.

  • @majinspy believed in this.

  • A pledge not given voluntarily is meaningless. Who are our kids, draftees into the armed forces, that they should have to take the morning pledge?

  • How un-patriotic to think that you can "opt out" of pledging their loyalty to their nation. No wonder that we have such a number of traitors and hirelings in our nation's political setting!

  • @passport287 I can't tell if you're joking, the fact is that students already can opt out, the only thing debated here is whether they should be told that they can opt out. The news doesn't even understand the issue, as usual.

  • I've been advocating it as an option since high school. I still say it with a pre-1954 fervor by excluding the "under god" portion. Other than that, I believe the Pledge is perfect.

  • When I was in elementary, we just didn't say it if we didn't want to. We didn't have to ask for permision from our teachers.
