  • Chavez is a global hero and hopefully many countries will follow Chavez's lead and kick the multinationals and the human scum that control them into the gutter where they belong. Capitalism is an evil doctrine which only serves the purposes of the rich and does nothing but maintain the status quo in favour of those who desire power. Chavez is making a stand for the "all" the people and we should support him and show the NWO that we will fight them till they are powerless and we are free.

  • same as in america but sheep can't see it

  • Another hting you all must rememebr about the 18,500 fired oil workers who "striked"--numer one they didn't strike they participated in sabatoges, they destoryed machines, computers, shot & threated to kill other workes who didn't strike, they wanted to overthrow a democratically elected government by created a sabotage over its most imporant industry, for these action they got fired and they cant get a job at another oil companey again. I know many people opposed to chavez that work at gov't.

  • 1:30 so before Chavez, the people had to bow their heads to the colonialists and multinationals who left their poor in destitution and now they must allay themselves to the Chavez. The question is, is he still the people?

  • Awesome documentary... keep up the good work Al Jazeera.........

  • Sumo63 it was a good documentary i agree!! but so as not to give credit where it is not due this is not an Al Jazeera documentary. It was also shown here in uk on channel 4. Having done some research because i enjoyed the show so much it turns out it is a scottish based orginization called Mediaco-op who made this and i think they have given a good balanced opinion here. Hopefully more docs like this will keep people informed rather than through mainstream media!!!!

  • Thanks HTIDforeva ,I didnt know that Mediaco-op created this video... gr8 work done by them...

  • regardless of how successful they become or not, they will always be better off in control of their own resources rather than it being in the control of strangers

  • WELL PUT

  • I don't know about that, didn't forcus on his latest battle which he just won in the refurendum, + it did't go into to details of the suitcase scandal. Guy who took the $800,000 in cash--Antonini Wilson-- flew form Miami to argentina and was arrested in Argentina & he escaped back to miami. Argentina has been asking for his extradition but the US denied instead FBI used him as a Key witness to convict one of the guys for--supossedly commitng espionage in the US-- All to descredit VEN & ARG

  • OK when you say America, what are you talking baout, America is a hemispheric continent, secodnly it's very imporant forthe US to control venezuelas oil. Look at how close it is?

  • Mrsshutter I think the SUITCASE SCANDAL as you put it is a load of bollocks!! Its not even worth being discussed. The bitter ani-chavez brigade will cling on to anything that can attempt to make him look bad. Before chavez venezuela probably had 100 suitcase scandals a day and to change a culture of corruption overnight in a place like that is near impossible, but with time things will change provided uncle sam does not get his way as usual. America only likes yes men but chavez likes to say no!

  • LOL! this is funny becuase the FBI witness--Antonini Wilson the guy who carreid the $800,000 from MIAMI to BUENOS AIRES--the US denied his extradition to argentina to face money laundering charges,-in the end Duran doesn't gety convicted of money laundering or any cover ups--just failing to register as a foreign agent, which is something he will appeal becuase he was never an agent he worked for a private Oil company.

  • I second that.

  • Exactly!

The resources in in territory of a nation belong to its people!
