  • beautiful video

  • Carl Sagan was genius :(

  • Nice video.

  • I don't know about this, "stronger and fewer weaknesses" survival of the fittest out the window. Now the best and brightest have 0-3 kids and the dumbest and most worthelsse have 3-7 kids.

  • that was totally fucking awesome man, what kind of camera did u use? what program did u use to edit it man? i fucking love it!!!

  • He's my hero. What a beautiful mind.

  • Beautiful. ♥

  • Very interesting. But I do think that it'll be okay for us to go explore other planets even before we ourselves get along, because through this exploration we would be forced to get along, and it'll all come together one way or another.

  • Personally I think that we will run out of resources that's needed for populating another planet before we can pull ourself together.

  • Excellent video.

  • rocket man..keep on dreaming

    nothing is impossibile ;)

  • All probability leads to one fact. The human race will never get that far.

  • we as a species are far perfect, but maybe someday we'll reach that point.

  • I hope I live long enough to have this much hope in humankind.

  • All the people need to think like this, and if so the world will change for sure.

  • There may always be good and evil people. I only hope that the good people prevail.

  • May I suggest that this video is essentially a religious video, notwithstanding its scientific overcoat? Carl Sagan is basically saying that man shall find salvation in outer space. What he forgot was that the Serpent, the Evil One, did not remain in Eden when we left it. He came with us! And he shall come with us wherever we go.

  • @atticana

"What he forgot was that the Serpent, the Evil One, did not remain in Eden when we left it. "

And one day mankind will hopefully leave fairy tales like these behind as well.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer

put a sock in it will ya....

  • @atticana Actually that's not at all what he's saying. He's saying that the survival of our kind depends on us progressing here first, on Earth. After we accomplish that, we can begin expanding our horizons, colonizing other planets and perhaps visit other solar systems. There's no 'salvation', there is simply progressing to continue existing. The amount of resources on this planet are finite, as is the amount of space. We simply can't live here forever.

Nothing religious about it, nice try.

  • @cylente It is Carl Sagan who is wandering off into realms of improbability. In reality, the space programme has run out of steam and will probably fizzle out altogether in a couple of generations. But however long humankind is on this earth, where our destiny lies, the Book of Genesis, that perplexing blend of history and mystery, will continue to trouble the minds and souls of men.

  • @atticana As expected you respond with nonsense. Even if every space program on earth were losing steam, your point would be? There's still plenty of time to get our act together. Though I'm sure you'd like to enlighten me about your doom's day scenario of choice. Not that I'm asking for it, quite the opposite. And no, nothing he said was nearly as improbable as our 'destiny' lying in any religious text based upon zero evidence.

  • Puts tears to my eyes.

  • CARL SAGAN! The sad music and hearing his voice gets me every time.

  • Excellent video, RIP Carl Sagan.

  • Absolutely awesome!!! I wish i was born on that future in which everybody settled their difference and everybody works together to make a far greater future for ourselves and our race. Awesome video and thanks for the friends invite.

  • Hi there I like the message and love the time lapse. Thanks for posting

    Rita

  • *yaaaaaaaawn* .....i could use a nap right now. This makes me sleepy for some reasonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • @ShadowSword32 It's his voice. I wish he could read me to sleep.

  • @callishka ah, sou.

  • Easy enough for a layman to understand.

  • Even though i was very young I still remember the impact that Carl Sagan had on me with his series Cosmos, every time i hear him speak todat his voice takes me back 30 years

RIP Carl, you will never be missed as you are with us always.
