Your very welcome! I posted many odd tunes by Dickey including Dreamy Nights, To The Isle, Mother Nature, Why Don't You Write Me & Fool Fool Fool, check them out, they're all great! I don't think any of them are on CDs.
i gotta say thank you. if it weren't for people like you, i wouldn't be able to listen to this stuff anymore. everyone my generation listenos to rap (ick) i prefer oldies =)
Thanks for a great oldie that's new to me,but i'll always liked he's early recordings from sun to Patches and I Saw Linda Yesterday! We were listen a lot to him while we were crusisin' around in the early sixties and when the future seems like a great adventure!
That's Dickey! Actually I like this one better, plus this is much harder to find. Wish I had a quarter for every I Saw Linda records I have seen in the last 45 years. This is the only copy I have ever seen of Me & My Teardrops. Thanks for listening.
I agree- I cut my record collection off at 2-7-64 (the day the Beatles became more than a passing joke arriving here, though still with narrow ties and suits!)
Per TV Guide back issues, the following day 2-8-64, American Bandstand moved to LA for the first time(Dick Clark points this out as the line of demarcation of radical change in his interviews) That's why I got into the recoirding dates, as many gems were in the vaults waiting for us! God bless , Owen
This would have been a big hit if released shortly after it was recorded(62-63), but the Mercury labels book seems to indicate this was an undated master tape sent to fulfill his last obligation for a 45 to them, after the Beatles in 64.
This was just before he changed labels and had hits with "Big Brother" and "Laurie".
Thanks for the info! Sad how the British invasion destroyed so many great artist and great sounds, that truly was the day the music died. This is just my own opinion so don't shoot me for it.
May be his best record...should've been number one.
I can't hear it too much!
