  • Good work

    Keep playing.

There will always be those who are jealous and make negative comments.

    Disregard them and move forward....

  • i there also have a boss gt-6 , can you please give me dthe set up parameters.

    thanks from Portugal

  • superbe beau travail continue et s'il te plait ameliore la qualité de ta video sinon pour le reste c'est TOP!!!!!!! BYE BYE

  • Very nice job! I dig all your covers-very close to the tone-dead on with the delay

  • fake

  • What do you mean 'fake'?

  • suena bien ok pero hay mucho desface entre lo que tocas y el movimiento de los dedos?

  • @WannaBeTheEdge It means you're so good he thinks it's actually the Edge! ;)

  • Son, don't worry about the mistakes and miscues. That is what makes rock and roll what it is.

Again, I am impressed. Keep it up.

  • Question. How do you know the exact delay that your using? Does the boss gt6 let you dial in the exact time? I use boss me50 but im thinking about upgrading to the gt6. right now some are priced under $200 bucks on ebay (about 100 quid I guess). Oh, by the way. i like this version or electric co better than your newer version. it sounds stronger. Although mini bono does give the other one an edge (no pun intended). hey man, Im a big fan of your stuff.

  • Hi mate. I really appreciate your comments. Thank you!!!!! The GT6 does indeed let you dial in your exact delay, right down to the exact millisecond using the large dial provided. I do really like this unit, I would also like to see how the GT8 compares. The only thing with the delay on the GT6, it doesn't have modulation like the Pod X3 Live which I now have so on some of the cleaner sounds there is something 'missing'. This is only trivial though, the GT6 is a great unit. Best wishes.

  • Just wondering, what's the delay time? Thanks

  • I think it was 285ms. Cheers.

  • Thank you friend!!! I like much the sound that you obtain and that you touch with feeling, with the soul. Is the well-read one, and me am thinking about being don´t make a mistake in the translation, that you do not use score. I touch the songs also with only oirlas, and that has very much merit because the work that he(she) carries. Congratulations, continue this way!!!

  • Muchas gracias por sus amables palabras.

Tiene usted razón, yo no uso musical o tablatura. La guitarra partes se aprenden a partir de cero. U2 música es mi pasión. Gracias y que Dios los bendiga!

  • have you a vox ac 30 or other model?

  • Hi, Yes, I bought a Vox AC30 CC2 not long ago. I know it's not a 'proper' Vox but it's as close as I can afford. I've not uploaded any videos using it yet.

  • hello!!! I.m Richar and i,m from spain .You play U2 very very very good!!! what,s your amp vox model? thanks!!!

  • For this version I used the Boss GT6 with a Vox modelled patch through a Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 tranny amp. Thanks.

  • Without tabs i think you would be pressing to sound any closer to the real thing. I can barely distinguish any major differences

  • Pretty good! You have good ears and nice playing technic!

  • Very good!but do you take the tab?

  • Thanks! No, this I learned from scratch and don't have any tab for. I played the chorus chords wrong but are rectified on my latest version with vocals. Cheers.

  • You´re hired!!! :)

  • I know nothing about playing the guitar but lot's about U2 and that sounds pretty darn good! Nice work.

  • bravoooo

  • hmm, the verses were a bit stuffed up and the bass from the backing track was a bit untuned and i dunno how but it sounds like it. great cover though

  • As I said in my description, this was totally unrehearsed. I had only just learned the basics of the song and not refined it and this was one of my first experimental videos that I just put on here as a taster to see how things went. A better version needs to be uploaded when I get time.

  • Shut up man. you don't know a good cover when you hear one..this guy wannabetheedge rules and i bet you can't even tune a guitar so shut the fuck up.

  • awesome man..you freakin rock dude..the sound is right on an the bass sounds kick ass...don't pay attention to blizzardaddict....your right on with this one!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • aww thats a bit harsh :( it was only a matter of opinion so just calm down. i said it was a great cover and yes I can tune a guitar and yes I play guitar and I'm in a band and we have written about 6 songs. So don't angry so easily kk? U2 Forever :D

  • yea..so only respond with positive comments next time....peace

  • no worries mate. its a good song and cover. :)

  • PEACE.............

  • feck me pink!

stunning effort chap.. spot on .. you got the fx mixed and balanced almost perectly ..go on whats your secret?

  • oh man this is awesome, you do a really great job, i will watch your other videos

  • You are awesome, and I've seen all your vids. You're a perfectionist at what you do, maintaining the passion and integrity of alll the U2 songs. NOONE comes close to you here on youtube. You truly got the 'Edge'. Keep 'em coming!

  • Thankyou very much for your kind comments. I really love it when people appreciate what I do on here. Take care.

  • what effects are you using? or can you tell me?

  • Hi mate. It's a Boss GT-6. I don't know what the distortion is, I think the OD-1 model and not too much of it. I'm terrible at remembering what parameters go into the sounds coz I just fiddle around until it sounds OK then save it. So I don't always know what I've done to get there!! Then it's just the delay.

  • Nailed it again my friend aus juis

  • simply amazing. my version's much much cheaper ;) once again, great!

    Greetings

  • Tocas bien... pero el coro está mal, no son las notas...

  • You have the chorus chords wrong. If you are a big Edge fan like me, and have seen the Edge play this song on the U2 Vertigo Tour in Chicago. Watch that song again and look for the part on the chorus where Edge is playing a barre chord there. I its the barre chord on the 8th freight. Thought you'd like to know how he really plays it.

  • Shut up you tart, he plays an excellent version

  • Great! Very nice cover !

I'm a guitarist u2 fan also, and could you please send me all your U2 MIDI files by mail ?

    Thnak you so much.

  • Close your eyes and listen!...It's really the edge!

  • YOU ARE THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • EXCELLENT... especially the solo before the quiet part where it really speeds up!

  • The sound is great, really spot-on, the comment that this was unrehearsed seems impossible!! So fantastic to have a clear view of your fretting and pick hands. The best part was the absolute end when we realize you've got a child in the room with you. Just awesome work with the sound and playing--very Edge like.

  • Thankyou steely42, that really means a lot. Yeah, my little lad loves U2, he's practicing drumming with wooden spoons and cushions at the moment!! Bless!!

Thanks for watching, take care. Darren.

  • Everybody else on youtube should quit posting. Your videos are the only that even come close to the real Edge. It's impressive!

  • Fantasic my favourite! Man you could gig with this is great! although I wouldn't worry about the tab books to much as yes they give you a very rough idea but we often found them very inaccurate most of the time as normally its some guy in a room listening to the record and just guessing what Edge is playing as Edge never used to write anything down and by now has forgotten exactly what he did all those years ago I know this because I actually asked him!

    Paul - U2's Dopplegangers

  • Awesome once again!

  • wonderful"""

  • nice work really... just a question: is your guitar a GIBSON or an EPIPHONE les paul?

  • Hi there, This is a Gibson Les Paul. Thankyou for watching and all of your comments.

  • Really nice - one of my biggest influences as well. I play a 1979 Guild s60-D - through a just-as-old Peavey half-stack with 4 - 12" Celestian's. Cheers from the States...

  • You have some serious skills, keep up the cool videos. Although I would really like to see and hear your take on the live version of "Gone".

  • Is it easy to learn guitar ?

cause i want to play that song

    greetings from LA

  • fantastic

  • you are absolutely amazing great awesome, you're damned good. the only u2 notes i can play are the 4 intro notes from miracle drug, en soem other intro`s.... the electric co is a great song, with great guitar work, and you're doing it great!!

    easy --> 5 stars

    U2 FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • dont forget to hit a couple harmonics just before the climax

  • Where do you mean, as I have included both sets of harmonics before the solo section?

  • how long u playing guitar?, amazing stuff, does it take years to get that good??

  • Greetings,

Thankyou all for your encouraging comments:->

I started playing in 1991. I had to take a picture of Edge and his Strat into the music shop, coz I knew nothing about guitars, pointed and said, "I want one of those!" I've been studying Edge's playing and techniques ever since with hours of practice. Thankyou

    Best wishes.

  • where u from man, i play just like u and I'm from Argentina...! same guitar, and same dream (Vox ac30)

  • I don't know who is playin' .... Edge or you. REMCH

  • Great job! U2 f***en ROCKS!

  • Wow nice job, this is one of U2's songs that I have been working on the most myself, I get stuck mostly at the part with the harmonics, I never can seem to get them. Nice job!

  • sounds good dude, dont break your neck trippin' over the chair!-lol, I'm looking for a delay pedal to get edges tone.

  • Great job on your tone, would like to know if you are using one amp or two?

  • Thankyou,

It's just the one amp. I use a Boss GT6 effects unit through an old Peavey tranny amp which is nowhere near ideal. Hopefully, one day, my budget will reach to a Vox AC30.

  • That is so funny, I remember in my early days of playing guitar I had tried playing through many amps, some pretty expensive but for some reason I could get the best old U2 sound out of an old 12" Peavey paractice amp...got a really good New Years Day sound from it, and now that I think about it, I was using a Boss SE50 FX unit that has a nice mod delay with it. Take care!

  • can you play another time another place? please, is a great song.

    congratulations, you are fantastic

  • hai,you are verry good, and i see so much pleasure, you are realy a little edge...you are my favorite on this site!!! bye karin from holland.

  • hi you are very good. from how long you play guitar? in your opinion for imitate the edge is good a boss gt8, cry baby jimi hendrix and a vox pathfinder 15r?i play only from one yaer. excuse my not perfect english. bye

  • goood!!!
