  • Great .

  • @dstanl - You're quite right, it's not Shani. It's me. And I'm not a cockney, I'm a mancunian. I don't mind constructive criticism, but try not to state the obvious ;)

  • this is really really good!! ;D sounds a bit laid-back but overall very professional and what a good accent. I think you would make a terrific Bet or Nancy!

  • Simply Brilliant! :)

  • At first I thought this was a professional recording from an actress, but when I looked at the description I was like "NO WAY, I THOUGHT SHE WAS AN ACTRESS!" You sing better than any singer I knew. Oh and 30 people don't know oom pah pah.

  • Pretty voice!

  • excellent singing

  • In my primary school i can remember that Oom-pah-pah started first on the soundtrack

  • fab voice love the song

  • You are great! Would you mind sending me this back track? I really like it. If you can, send me a message and I'll give you my email. Thank you!!!!!! I'll bake you cookies!!!!

  • luv this song X)

  • you sound brilliant, i hope you continue to follow this through :)

  • I'm going for the audition of Nancy, and if i sound even half as good as you and ill be happy!! :) x

  • You Are A Great Singer 6th Time I Have Replayed.Best Song Ever

  • OMG is that you?!?!?! I thought it was the actress from Oliver!

  • this is my daughter singing, and she is fantastic. whoever says otherwise has me to answer to! Do more of these Lisa.

  • Bloomin' marvellous :-)

  • Love it :D

  • Wow, your really good! Thanks!

  • Try opening your jaw more on the "Pah" sounds, it will make them seem less harsh.

  • i love this song lol

  • One of my fav movies of all time. My daughter is only 10 mos. old I want to introduce her to the movie and book of course. lol.

  • @JMU1023 some parts in the movie might be violant for a child but highly recoend the music for it one of my favorites was always I'd do Anything and Consider yourself and a song thats not as popular It's A Fine Life. but near the end might be a little scary

  • awesome job!!!

  • Do You Have A Singsnap Account By Any Chance

  • @BekkieBum I do! I let my 'Gold' membership lapse a couple of months ago though :)

  • Wow! You're really good! Hope you got the part

  • when i was young i was oliver in my city but now am all grown up with my own book i wrote called WHY ME?

  • You are great.

  • @Londonman84 Thank you :)

  • this is not you

  • This sounds lovely, and of course its her singing, do you think only famous people can sing?? sheeesh.. well done!!

  • The original skin bird.

  • You are so good! I'm auditioning for Oliver tommorow, and this is helping me out so much. I hope I can sound as amazing as you do!

  • @dmkbitch How did you get on, did you get the part?

  • @dmkbitch what part was it?

  • Woah! You are Amazing!!

    Brilliant!

  • Is this really you? Because it sounds almost exactly like the nancy from the film

  • @latigremusic It's really me.

  • @GinPrincess3931 Wow!!! That's incredible

  • @GinPrincess3931 Anyone with half an ear can tell it's not "Nancy from the film". :) Don't worry... there are some of us with half a brain on here ;)

  • @bognapalm ye its not shani wallis is it

  • not her ankles!!!! that slut!

  • u cn tell dats her singing cuz on the oopah an u can hear distortion in certain bits where shes too close to the mic

  • LIES

  • @DavidGrin123 Lies? What lies? Where?

  • Well damn. I was in the 1998 production of Oliver! at the London Paladium, and I must say that if they was to bring it back...you should deffinately audition for Nancy! You have a proper London accent for the time it's set. Great voice!

  • when i clicked on this video i was expecting the movie scene. damn. but great singing :3

  • excellent!!!!!

i'm auditioning 4 nancy in my school production of oliver tomorrow, and this helps immensley!!!!

  • yeah, you do sound good. except for those "pops". You should go try out for a production of "Oliver!!" if one is going on. You might want to add a little "cockney" to it.

  • don't they have an English version of "American Idol"? Is that what that show is called? I don't know, I've never watched it.

  • @aspenrebel I believe it's "Britain's Got Talent"

  • Actually, all things considered, this is quite good. I think the suggestion of a pop filter is a good one. This song is loaded with pop possibilities. All of thise Pa Pas could produce a pop even at ten inches away. Personally, I think you did such a fine job that the quality of your voice supercedes the few pops detected here.

  • Lovely singing, eleven out of ten. I won't give you any advice or tips on how to use the mike, you were just perfect ;-)

  • This is you singing? You're amazing! I was looking for this song on ITunes and couldn't find one that sounded quite right! You're amazing

  • @MrOatsandMore Awww thanks :)

  • @MrOatsandMore this was sung in 1968 by the original nancy

  • Sounds pretty good, get a better mic cover though

  • Wow, this is amazing! :D

  • You're so good!

  • @GinPrincess3931 Nice clear lyrics, easy to hear, thank you. Agree with another commenter that your "p's" make the mike pop a bit - you might try the trick of making a screen with pantyhose& a bit of wire to shield the mike and keep the popping at a minimum.

May I link to your recording?

  • @aitchdawg Of course you can! Thanks for the constructive criticism - I desperately need a pop filter!

  • @GinPrincess3931 you also have the option of not swallowing the microphone, generally it should be 6 inches away from your mouth

  • @spannerotoole Oh my, really? You mean I don't have to shove it down my throat? Oh silly, silly me.

  • wow this is your voice?! it sounds awesome, ive always loved this song since 5th grade

  • great song

  • oom pah pah thats how it goes! ;)

  • Oom Pah Pah

  • your pretty good :D !!

  • Your voice is pretty good. The only flaw is that the P in "Pah Pah" really distorts the mic.

  • ...well, sex sells...

  • nancys a stunna and has a angelic voice,, god i miss where i grew up,, this song alwas makes me happy but homesick x

  • love this song!!!

  • @marcmeakin

Ha! I do Oliver at school too. . There I am Nancy too.. (:

  • There needs to be more spirt in the song. More joyfulness, like a drinking song.

  • I'm doin Oliver at school I tried for nancy but I'm nancys gang lead singer I have no idea wot it means does anyone no

  • One of my favorite songs

  • dont you hate it when your high school music exam makes you obsessed with this song

  • needs alittle more oomph. in the play, shes supposed to be drunk so. Well i think. but im right about the oomph lol. really look at the lyrics so you can understand what shes saying. its kinda like shes telling a story. in a drunk kind of way. and nancy is a strong woman so act as tough as you can without straining your voice or becoming a bill sykes lol

  • wow you have a brilliant voice this song is sang well, maybe its not sang like nancy but its great. your voice is really professional. i think you are fab!!!!!!!

  • I think you need to give it more... oomph, and perhaps a cockney accent ;)

  • Wow! You've certainly got a feeling for this song, just the right accent too -not exaggerated and quite as good as the original.

  • i was afraid to listen to this at first...but i really like it! :D

  • Meh, i personally thought it was quite good. it would have been better if you had sang... with like... more emotion or something? :S i dunno... your voice is perfect... theres just something missing i cant put my finger on it.

    Love Simon Cowell.

  • Bring back the Shani Wallis version

  • Wow i love this better then all the others I have heard. You did such a great job! I wish it was an MP3 so I could take it with me! :)

  • curse it's catchiness

  • @Renchan45 i kno we were singin it in music and it was stuck in my head for the rest of the day and i kept singin it and my friend was like stop it!

  • I like it! Maybe a little more of the accent (but not too harsh) and get rid of those weird microphone noises... but you're very talented, certainly :D

  • Nice sung

  • Comment removed

  • wow ur awesome, i wish i cood hit those notes in a strong voice! i have to use head voice for most of it :(

  • wow

  • I think that was perfect. accent wasnt too harsh and you have a very pure voice. impressed

  • you sing really well! try some more cockney accent next time you do nancy ;)

  • I need sexual healing from Meesh ASAP

  • Wow you hav a gprgeous voice and this a lovely song.

    Niz xxx

  • wow you've got a really good singing voice : )

  • i no shes still great and its a song anyone can sing

  • wow at first i thought it was Nancy then i read the desription XD very nice

  • You're awesome!

    Well done :)

  • My thoughts - when I selected it and saw it was some body's 'attempt' I was disappointed and thought oh no. Then I heard you sing - I was turned around and listened to the whole song. Well done, I was very impressed. I try and sing and have made some recordings, they are nothing compared to this. Very well done.

  • wowza ur fabb

  • Take some pantyhose/tights/nylon and stretch it across a wire hanger shaped in a circle and put that between your mouth and the microphone, it's a easy pop filter to soften those explosive Ps that you have in this. You can find examples online as to how it should look also how far you are from the mic.

    Otherwise sounds great!

  • This is great.you sound great.

  • You have a lovely voice. Just a little strong on the "P" words here and there.

  • la la da da

  • This is SO COOL! You don't sound like Shani, but the accent's great and it sounds almost just like the original! WELL DONE!!

  • Wow, you've got a great voice and you sang that bloody well. I'd try adding a little bit more 19th century cockney oomph and attitude, after all she is trying to get a whole rowdy pub singing and dancing so she can distract her murderous boyfriend. x

  • totally ace ! *****

  • I like it :]

    You did fine by me!!

  • this is my fav song from the movie

  • u have a great voice

  • I played Nancy In year 6 for our end of school production now im english and i can sing this with a london accent and slang and believe it or not i was spotted by 7 TALENT SCOUTS!! because i can act and sing now singing is my life but you sing this too formal my love so a nice tip try to give it some OMPF!! not Theres a little ditty but There a lit'lee ditteyy

  • good voice

  • oh goodness this is beautiful ,i love the song and the voice is good as well :)

  • he he he he he he he he i am doing oliver in school!!!!!!!!!!

  • Are you a member of SingSnap?

  • @ConnieGMK

    Wotcha ConnieG

Yes I am, and I bet you know who I am as well :D

  • Those who are saying this sounds like the real Nancy... it don't...don't be ridiculous this lady aint pretending to be the real Nancy, she is just singing the song.. cos it sounds absolutely nothing like the real Nancy all... gawd get some ears.

  • @ConnieGMK To be fair, there's no such thing as 'the real Nancy'. What with her being a fictional character and all.

Some constructive criticism would be nice though :)

  • @GinPrincess3931

I was talking to those who were implying it was the original voice from the film/musical, trying to imply that you were pretending hen it's clear you are not. They obviously havn't seen the film :O) it's quite a high energy sounding track

  • @GinPrincess3931 LOL Great comeback girl!

  • @ConnieGMK i know it aint the real nancy in the 1968 performance CONNIE!

  • That's you singing? I couldn't tell. We're watching it in General Music and it sounds just like Nancy. I wanna call her Sally. X3 Love this movie!

  • Needs a bit more...ooomph.

  • @bazandpete I'll tie my corsets tighter next time :)

  • @GinPrincess3931 Haha, that would deffinently work! XD I've always wanted to try and play nancy, but I'm much to chubby for that. though a corset might hide that too

xD I think it sounds wonderfull! .3. I wonder how hard it would be and how much it would be to try and make production of oliver...anyway, this is great!

  • @bazandpete

Interesting. I thought that it needed a bit more pah pah.

  • @bazandpete

I think there's plenty of oomph...needs a little more pah pah though. What the hell is this song about????!!!!

  • @Williamtom2 that is clearly not the original Nancy, this girl doesn't have the cockney accent that Shani Wallis has. idiot.

  • This really isn't someone singing it . It's the orginal voice people - the person who made it must be in some sort of insanity.

  • @Williamtom2

It is me. This is NOT Shani Wallis, anyone with ears and half a brain cell can tell that. Check my other videos :)

  • Wow, you're so much better than most of the singers on YouTube! That was amazing! :D

  • This is great. :(

  • you are better than some of the finalists

from I'D DO ANYTHING. great voice

  • your really good. wasent sure about this at first, but then wow, lol. well done

  • omg! i thought this would be kinda lame, but your voice is fantastic!! *claps*

  • Your voice is amazing! :D

  • I thought you did a very fine job. Not as good as Shani Wallis but still better than most people would do :)

  • wow thats good

:P i think you were a bit close to the mic :P but apart from that it was briliant

  • That's good. I can't sing to save my life. lol, I can sing Oliver kind of because of the accent and I'm orginally from London, but it's still not that good. lol. xx

  • i dont like the song but i like the bit where she says"oom pah pah and the rest"

  • lol oom pah pah im gona watch oliver right now

  • One of my favorite songs from Oliver! besides Food, Glorious Food, Got to Picket Or Two, Consider Yourself, Where Is Love....

  • pretty nice!

  • Those breasts were great.

  • GinPrincess3931

    beautiful voice :o)

  • You're really good!

  • This definitely ISN'T Shani Wallis

  • No. No it isn't. It's me. It says that in the description. I am not Shani Wallis. I don't claim to sound like her. I sound like me :)

  • Im thinking thats not her from the film Oliver twist

  • Fantastic!

  • Damn girl, that's you? Keep it up babe we'll see you on broadway.

  • its great!! keep it up =)

  • what a great voice you have. you should record another song....how about my old man's a dustman

  • This is great! Your voice is lovely, keep up with the good work!

  • Great job with your first YouTube. Lovely voice.

I love the song as well.

  • So cool!

  • Wow! This is really great. You've done a great job hun!

  • umm sorry not verry good. i dont wanna be mean though! sorry! its just you need to have more of an accent. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM

  • I'm not from London. I'm not even from the South. I'm a Mancunian with a broad Lancashire accent...and if you try to force a Cockney accent you run the risk of sounding like a twat (or worse, like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins!). I'm not trying to 'be' Shani Wallis (or even Nancy), I'm just having a giggle with the song :)

I like constructive criticism, but I'm not sure I agree with your opinion that it's not very good simply because I don't want to sound like a Mockney idiot...

  • Hey Princess, I am from East London. Fancy a shag?

  • And they say romance is dead.

  • I know!!!

    xxx

  • Hah - best comeback ever ;)

  • LOL

  • @GinPrincess3931 very very nice it isn't bad at all. and you don't need to have an accent if you are not trying to play the character. But just because you don't have the accent originally doesn't mean you can't have it. if you practice it enough you wont sound like a mockney idiot. i have a hispanic accent yet i can talk with a british french italian and southern accent. Simply because i practiced it enough. so don't put down your original accent

  • @GinPrincess3931 i actually though it was good =) better than i could have done.

  • LOL niakatie! An you reckon you can sing any better??? I have heard your ATTEMPTED Britney Spears cover on your page..... you're not even in the same leaugue as this lady!

  • Lol. poor Nancy she got beaten to death by Bill Sikes poor poor Nancy

  • This is fantastic!

  • This is you?!?! It is great!!!

  • Outstanding! I prefer this over the original version.

  • its really good but i wouldnt say it was better than the original
