Black holes and Quasars! This is a long lost relic from my childhood I never thought I'd see again! This was one of my fave shows growing up, but I know it wasn't as popular as some other kid's shows at the time. It's developed into a bit of a cult classic over times it seems! I kept using "black holes and quasars" as an exclamation into my adult years, and nobody knew what I was on about when I told them where it was from... lol But now I can show them! Thanx buc555 for posting this classic! xD
whahaha i always watched this on the tube whan i was growing up, finally after a long seartch instead of what i typed watt on youtube, forgot he's called watt instead of what xD
Thats so mad lol I couldnt for the life of me remember the name of this show, I just remembered this alien guy being on earth and this boy and it has bugged me for so long.. and here it is! lol
@pluto1111777 haha I had the same problem. I kept telling people about it and nobody knew what I was talking about, but luckily somebody gave me the title, and this awesome fellow put it on youtube. I loved this show, and it scared me too. Jemedah hahah. I don't remember him being so comedic. Can you help me to remember another show from the same era? I have put the details of what I can remember on the comments section of buc555 (the guy who posted this) home page. Thanks!
@Hazzmania lol yeah it was a little scary at times. Have you ever seen My Favorite Martian? It was the 1960's american version of this really, when an alien crash lands on earth and is found by a newspaper reporter. it wouldnt surprise me if this had some kind of influence on Watt on Earth lol. The other show youve described does ring a bell, Im not sure I ever actaully watched it but may well have caught bits. I'll have to try and think and see if the name comes up!
@pluto1111777 Damn! I really had high hopes that you would be able to help haha. Nobody seems to remember it, but thanks for responding Pluto. I will definitely check out 'My Favorite Martian'. I read an article about 'Watt on Earth' and they were saying that it was unlikely that it would ever be remade, as a kid befriending a man in a shellsuit, who he hides from his family and allows to sleep in his cupboard is unlikely to go down well with our cautious society hahah.
@Hazzmania which is just as well, because remakes are never as good as the original. You only have to watch the current version of 'Bananas in Pyjamas' to see that.
@Hazzmania aww im sorry, i tried searching for it aswell but nothing seems to be showing up with Mr Green and Childrens tv or anything else. what channel was it on? yeah I think youd like My Favorite Martian, they also made a film about 10 years ago of it, but the series is very good. it ran for 4 series I think, the lasty one or two are in colour. I read something like that too about Watt, they prob have a point in this day and age lol. kids dont know what theyve missed!
@Hazzmania I've just read your description of the CBBC show from the early 90s involving an evil woman in a base and guess what . . . I remember it too! In fact, it has been at the back of my mind for years and years, but I've never met anybody else who remembers it...
@Hazzmania The evil woman you describe as "similar to mystic meg" I very VERY clearly remember being played by Fenella Fielding. I would only have been about 4 at the time, but it's burned in my mind. Anyway, I just imdb'd her and guess what? In 1990 she was in a CBBC series called "Uncle Jack and Operation GREEN" . . . and it is DEFINITELY the show you remember! Am I right or am I right? :D
@bakerytv You sir are a gentleman and a scholar! You are damn right- thank very very much! Hero! Haha I have looked up the show but there is no trace of a dvd or a clip. The only tangible thing that I can find is a copy of the book, but that is just not the same. However on the front cover it states "Now a hilarious BBC television series". Hahaha I remember it terrified me, I did not think it would be hilarious.I will now dedicate the remainder of my life trying to find some footage of it!
