i play for a mix or objective and k/d on games. i go for the objective, but when my teams hangs back and refuses to move up i just get destroyed, so wth, i just camp
People play objective games and go for kills because they know where everyone is going to be, and there is no kill limit, making it wasy to get a good K/D. I get really irritated when I get teamed with people who don't play the objective, and I seem to be the only one who does play the objective. But that's the video game world for you.
This commentary was spot-on. It irritates me when people run away from an armed MCOM station in Rush on defense...why are you trying to play TDM when they have 45 tickets and an MCOM is armed?! I'm not a great K/D player, but I don't care either. If I can defend the station(s) and WIN the match, what else matters? If you play on PS3, it would be awesome to play with you lot...terrible to play against you.
People who are K/D players join objective based games for people like you, who like to play the objective, and they can just kill you as you go for it. Or while your at the objective they'll kill with ease, while at the same time staying far enough away from the objective they don't get killed but close enough they'll be able to see the other team going for it.
I dig most of you videos, but I got to say: the number of times you referred to K/D players as "whores" kinda hurt your argument...that said: I completely agree with you they should stay out of my CTR and Crashsite games!
For me I like to play the objective it gives a central location to fight for that can lead to some more intense battles. I prefer the close quarters multiple enemy combat that it can bring while fighting over a point.
Sometimes in crysis 2 though omg the nades into the site are ridiculous you almost have to stand by it but outside the circle in some matches. Cover it and let a teammate capture it then when he gets grenaded you go in and take over and keep swapping in and out.
Crash site is a great gamemode. But far too many idiots try to run as far from the pod as they can, looking for a corner to cloak in.
Like you said its annoying as shit, especially when you cant get near to the pod because of it. I hope that mentality will change, but I fear it wont.
The best way to get people you're playing with to play the objective is to set up a DCRU Crysis 2 server :D
But I do agree fully, on BC2 there's far too many fools sitting in trees with their USAS and M95 in Rush when they should be playing Squad Deathmatch...

I enjoy sitting near the pod on this game. You get 30xp about every second and you know people are coming for you so you will get some kills. Team based objective games are much more exciting....IF everyone is actually going for the objective.
You're like me, Stone. I played a match on Valpariso as an attacker, and I had around 7200 score at the end and we lost.. I was pissed off at my team cause they started playing as wookies and what not. I had like 4-5 objectives taken that game. I didn't give two shits about my score at the end. I play for the win every game period
TDM players play objective games to boost their k/d. Everyone else is trying to win the game they are trying to shoot people in the back. It's fucking pathetic. If I see players in my rooms with high k/d's and no objective points I call them out.

I think all those players who come in objective gamemodes to only sit back and kill, doesn't matter wich game, do this because in tdm they can't kill anyone because they're shit. So they think they can kill people who go for the objective because in that way they have less chance getting killed, because i'm more watching the objective.

I used to play cod4 with a group of really obj oriented guys but know I don't have people I know to play with I get frustrated with a lack of team play.
Heres an idea for you Stone, make a steam group for your PC subbers who (like me) need some good players to role with!
Playing the objective dos'nt necessarily mean that the entire team is jumping on the flag trying to cap it, one guy can be a sniper on provide cover fire from a distance.
its because its easier to pick off players like you trying to do the objective im pretty sure you've seen by now players that just stand looking for whu goes to objective to get easy kills
I couldn't agree with the comments in this video more. Objective based games are so much more fun than Team Deathmatch games. If you are going to play an objective based game, then play the objective and cap the flags. Keep the great videos coming.
if there will be killstreaks in battlefield 3 i want it to function with a points system,just like in homefront.and that you'll actually get more points by doing objectives than getting kills.and i want them to vary their game types.like have team deathmatch with small maps and then classic BC2 modes with HUGE maps.and also have realistic mode on and off.like bullet will fall down with realistic mode on.i dont know why i'm saying that here but the comment below me inspired me :)
lol, just take the best of what you get. If you get a crap KD coz you played the objective well, awesome. If you got slaughtered (in terms of winning or losing) but a reasonable KD, its terrible but take some joy out of giving a little more than you got
What really pisses me off in rush mode games attacker side:
Whole team camps on the hill (port valdez) and when you run into the enemy base (with a quad ofcourse bcause tanks are also K/D whoring around) you still meet about 15 enemies on your way to the crate. Why isn't my team able to atleast get rid of most enemys when they are all sniping from the hill?
reminds on bfbc2 playing rush on defense. everyother game there are a couple people sitting around and not disarming a crate when its lit. damn its frustrating
Usually objective based games give players a chance to rack up many more kills than a TDM. Unfortunately these people will always choose obj. games to further their kills.

Easy y they play obj modes bc they get tired of other modes. Thats y there are options. I'm a huge obj based guy also but I like to try and keep my kd respectable. My wins in crysis 2 is a 1.78 and my kd is @ a very steady 1.4 so I certainly enjoy it and for watever reason I never play in a squad but I manage to get halfway decent teams most the time. Not the case in cod or bc2 lol. Gota hav a good squad for bc2 and it's the only game I ever use one for some reason

K/D whores love objective games, because (theoretically) everyone is focusing on the objective, and so are easy targets. If they play TDM, everyone is worrying about staying alive, so they have a much harder time protecting their PRECIOUS K/D!!!!!!

That's something that will always tick me off in Killzone 3 or BFBC2. It's really annoying when I'm the only one running the objective and getting pick off by campers while my team also sit back and try to camp the defenders. How does that work?
Personally I love playing the objective in games, I remember back in 2142 when I played engie and got like 1 kill for the whole match I loved it because I knew I was helping my team out by fending off enemy vehicles.
I really hope BF3 doesn't let the same douchebags that camp on rush in BC2 to do well.

I always play the objective. In CoD you can get away with one or two people on your team going for the objective, but for BFBC2 (I don't have Crysis) unless 75% of your team knows how to press and hold B to plant or disarm an mcomm, you are going to get fucked up. It really sucks cuz of the bush wookies in BFBC2. But yeah, I play the objective and do anything for the win.
I would say a good K/D and playing the objective doesn't exclude each other, which you never claimed thou. But your not winning games by tickle the enemy in their ass either.
What annoys me the most is when I get pwnd by a player I know is a lesser gamer then me, camping out a stair with a CG an such.
I don't blame the players who do that. I blame the game. DON'T TRACK K/D IN OBJECTIVE GAME-TYPES. It's fucking simple. And to this day I don't understand why developers do this.

I myself don't give a crap for my K/D, or any K/D. But just look at CoD. 75% (maybe even more) are killwhores in that game series.
@MuseManMike or better yet have KD count, but count for like a quarter of what objective points are worth, so at the end of the game everybody can see what an awesome KD they had... at the very bottom of the scoreboard.
Coming from COD and other KD driven FPS games, all I knew how to do when I started playing BC2 was the same thing I had always done. But there were things about BC2 that I liked way better than those other spawn-kill-die meat grinder games, mainly the fact that BC2 is a more dynamic game. I also noticed that the kill whores like myself were losing games too often, and that the people that played together always won. I had to relearn playing FPS fames. How many ppl are really willing to do that?
In any game I play I see this happen and im not sure how many people are aware of the objectives and how many just dont know whats going, but I just hate babysitting the team trying to win the match
i think team death match and free for all should be the only game types in which ur kill and deaths count or add onto ur overall game kd. in objective game types, all the points you get by doing the objective should count toward ur win loss. this way kd whores will only play teamdeath match na free for all and objective players wont have to worry about them being in their games. thumbs up if you think this is a good idea so everyone can see. i dont care about thumbs up. im just giving my opinion
in bfbc2 i have a .85 kd but get 4 crates a game almost all of the time and cap around 7 0r 8 flags. in tdm i qs to dick around and go 20 and 5.... rush is more fun (and this was my first fps game so i kinda sucked for a few weeks) objective ftw

I have asked myself that question many times. I love to play objective based modes in games, but I hate all these people who always comes in to ruin it. If you want to play tdm fine, do so, but don't create your own little tdm fucking heaven in rush, crash site, capture the relay etc and kill whore on those who's trying to play the game in the way it's MEANT to be played. I personally think people in this game (at least on the Xbox 360), are a lot less objective orientated than any other game (BF series or CoD series) that I have played. 9/10 times I will get into a lobby (by myself), and me and one other person, MAYBE 2 will be going for the objective. To be honest, I am so tired of it, and wish they could fix it. Maybe if you don't have any objective points you loose XP at the end of the match?

You play games how they should be played: by thinking about how to approach situations, and plan your next move. If it means you die getting the objective, so be it. What's a K/D anyway? It's a number.

I always play objective. TF2 and battlefield are the ultimate objective games. i didn't even play squad death match when i was playing BFBC2 everyday.
One of the most annoying things these little punk ass kids do is post Vids on youtube and show how fuckin pathetic they are at playing the objective and they brag about it like they are the shit for not helping the team and it pisses me the hell off when i play with those same type of kids in a squad on Rush or Conquest. Squad Deathmatch is even objective based and its simple. Help your team kill more folks then the other teams. Thats the only mode K/D whores should be able to play.

Personally, I love having a high K/D ratio, but not at the expense of losing the game. I often go 3.5 or better but that is in direct proportion to going for the objective. I'm always knee deep in the shit so ofc I'm gonna get a lot of kills.
I know it is annoying when your playing the objective and people are getting easy kills off you by hanging back, but, surely you see the benefit of having say a good kill whore sniper on your team who picks anybody off who goes near the crash site, if the enemy cant stay there because there getting sniped, they cant score points, therefore kill whoreing can also (if done stratigicly) be a huge role in playing the objective.
Just so you know i play the objective like a maniac and have a shit KD.
I think its more satisfying and provides more bragging rights if you completely RECK the other team in points, whether it be Team Instant action, or Crash Site. I played a game and i sware, i was the only one on my team playing the objective, and i slaughtered the other team solo. Final score was 150 - 10 and k/d was 28 - 4, get shit on.
I think they join objective games to take advantage of the people playing the objective. That's why I go negative [which is ok if I win] when I play objective games sometimes. go play tdm, ya bastards!!
They do it because they figure its easier to get kills on people who have to divide their attention between trying to kill while still managing the objective.
The reason people who want to increase their KD jump into objective games is that they lurk or camp near the objective and take potshots at those moving toward the objective. In team deathmatch, the other players are focused on who is shooting at them, while objective players will potentially ignore incoming damage for capturing objectives, so they're potentially easier to pick off
Talking about BC2 since i don't play Crysis 2. You always need a few guys playing some kind of slayer role to cover and give a safe spawning point to the guys trying to take a flag or arm a mcom.
Problem is, there are way too many useless guys (sitting far from any kind of objective of course) killing one guy every 1 or 2 minute(s) and being proud of it, or snipers trying to kill guys one base away without realizing there is someone solo caping the flag 10 meters behind them.
What's sad is 99% of the idiots who camp on attack end up either going negative or barely positive. And then they go online and bitch about how games like Battlefield are slow paced when they spent the whole round crouching like a bitch in a bush with a 12x scope.
I play either way depending on what FPS I'm playing. If it's CoD or Crysis (fast twitch games) I'm all about K/D. If it's BF or KZ I prefer teamwork and work harder at my W/L.
I don't want to entrench myself in any camp. Both mindsets are fun depending on how crappy my day was and who is online that night.
KD whores like getting the most laziest, easiest way to get a crazy score without actually using skill... MAG is riddled with them :(

I think all those players who come in objective gamemodes to only sit back and kill, doesn't matter wich game, do this because in tdm they can't kill anyone because they're shit. So they think they can kill people who go for the objective because in that way they have less chance getting killed, because i'm more watching the objective.

I Sub for objective based gameplay so I think you were right on the contents of this commentary.
I used to play cod4 with a group of really obj oriented guys but know I don't have people I know to play with I get frustrated with a lack of team play.
Heres an idea for you Stone, make a steam group for your PC subbers who (like me) need some good players to role with!

Playing the objective dos'nt necessarily mean that the entire team is jumping on the flag trying to cap it, one guy can be a sniper on provide cover fire from a distance.

I couldn't agree with the comments in this video more. Objective based games are so much more fun than Team Deathmatch games. If you are going to play an objective based game, then play the objective and cap the flags. Keep the great videos coming.

What really pisses me off in rush mode games attacker side:
Whole team camps on the hill (port valdez) and when you run into the enemy base (with a quad ofcourse bcause tanks are also K/D whoring around) you still meet about 15 enemies on your way to the crate. Why isn't my team able to atleast get rid of most enemys when they are all sniping from the hill?

Easy y they play obj modes bc they get tired of other modes. Thats y there are options. I'm a huge obj based guy also but I like to try and keep my kd respectable. My wins in crysis 2 is a 1.78 and my kd is @ a very steady 1.4 so I certainly enjoy it and for watever reason I never play in a squad but I manage to get halfway decent teams most the time. Not the case in cod or bc2 lol. Gota hav a good squad for bc2 and it's the only game I ever use one for some reason

Personally I love playing the objective in games, I remember back in 2142 when I played engie and got like 1 kill for the whole match I loved it because I knew I was helping my team out by fending off enemy vehicles.

I always play the objective. In CoD you can get away with one or two people on your team going for the objective, but for BFBC2 (I don't have Crysis) unless 75% of your team knows how to press and hold B to plant or disarm an mcomm, you are going to get fucked up. It really sucks cuz of the bush wookies in BFBC2. But yeah, I play the objective and do anything for the win.

Coming from COD and other KD driven FPS games, all I knew how to do when I started playing BC2 was the same thing I had always done. But there were things about BC2 that I liked way better than those other spawn-kill-die meat grinder games, mainly the fact that BC2 is a more dynamic game. I also noticed that the kill whores like myself were losing games too often, and that the people that played together always won. I had to relearn playing FPS fames. How many ppl are really willing to do that?

i think team death match and free for all should be the only game types in which ur kill and deaths count or add onto ur overall game kd. in objective game types, all the points you get by doing the objective should count toward ur win loss. this way kd whores will only play teamdeath match na free for all and objective players wont have to worry about them being in their games. thumbs up if you think this is a good idea so everyone can see. i dont care about thumbs up. im just giving my opinion

I have asked myself that question many times. I love to play objective based modes in games, but I hate all these people who always comes in to ruin it. If you want to play tdm fine, do so, but don't create your own little tdm fucking heaven in rush, crash site, capture the relay etc and kill whore on those who's trying to play the game in the way it's MEANT to be played. I personally think people in this game (at least on the Xbox 360), are a lot less objective orientated than any other game (BF series or CoD series) that I have played. 9/10 times I will get into a lobby (by myself), and me and one other person, MAYBE 2 will be going for the objective. To be honest, I am so tired of it, and wish they could fix it. Maybe if you don't have any objective points you loose XP at the end of the match?

You play games how they should be played: by thinking about how to approach situations, and plan your next move. If it means you die getting the objective, so be it. What's a K/D anyway? One of the most annoying things these little punk ass kids do is post Vids on youtube and show how fuckin pathetic they are at playing the objective and they brag about it like they are the shit for not helping the team and it pisses me the hell off when i play with those same type of kids in a squad on Rush or Conquest. Squad Deathmatch is even objective based and its simple. Help your team kill more folks then the other teams. Thats the only mode K/D whores should be able to play.

Personally, I love having a high K/D ratio, but not at the expense of losing the game. I often go 3.5 or better but that is in direct proportion to going for the objective. I'm always knee deep in the shit so ofc I'm gonna get a lot of kills.

I know it is annoying when your playing the objective and people are getting easy kills off you by hanging back, but, surely you see the benefit of having say a good kill whore sniper on your team who picks anybody off who goes near the crash site, if the enemy cant stay there because there getting sniped, they cant score points, therefore kill whoreing can also (if done stratigicly) be a huge role in playing the objective.
Just so you know i play the objective like a maniac and have a shit KD.

I played a game and i sware, i was the only one on my team playing the objective, and i slaughtered the other team solo. Final score was 150 - 10 and k/d was 28 - 4, get shit on.

The reason people who want to increase their KD jump into objective games is that they lurk or camp near the objective and take potshots at those moving toward the objective. In team deathmatch, the other players are focused on who is shooting at them, while objective players will potentially ignore incoming damage for capturing objectives, so they're potentially easier to pick off

Talking about BC2 since i don't play Crysis 2. You always need a few guys playing some kind of slayer role to cover and give a safe spawning point to the guys trying to take a flag or arm a mcom.
Problem is, there are way too many useless guys (sitting far from any kind of objective of course) killing one guy every 1 or 2 minute(s) and being proud of it, or snipers trying to kill guys one base away without realizing there is someone solo caping the flag 10 meters behind them.

I play either way depending on what FPS I'm playing. If it's CoD or Crysis (fast twitch games) I'm all about K/D. If it's BF or KZ I prefer teamwork and work harder at my W/L.
I don't want to entrench myself in any camp. Both mindsets are fun depending on how crappy my day was and who is online that night.
