Good mod! I have mine mounted to my windshield and I feel like it's a bit too far for me to reach if I need to input something. I think I'll have to steal this from you! :D
thats is a great idea man. Ive been looking for a secure way to mount my phone in my Impala. This may be it. Thanks for the Vid Brotha. Nice Audi by the way LOL
Do you think you would have an issue if the vents were on? like if the ac was on? making the phone too cold or the heat making the phone too hot while in there? thats the only thing i'd be concerned about.
@dragon3983 I feel like if the AC was on it would benefit the phone to keep it from heating up and possibly restarting or what not. But if the heater was on thats a different story.
@joemann797 The mount was 39.99 from Verizon, they gave me a discount so I only paid $30.00. The additional GPS air vent mount was $5.00 (see my description) and the wing nut iwas .40 cents for 2. So figure for under $6.00 you can make this mod, and best of all you still have and will still work the Verizon dock should you decide to take it somewhere else, best of both worlds.
@trebillstyle Problem is when you live in California, it's a ticket waiting to happen. Also, it's much easier to make changes and also for my passenger too. The nice thing is that where it is located, it's low enough where cops can't see it and my passenger can also watch a movie.
I've always had bad experiences with suction cups on the windshield, eventually they always have to be re-seated (which is annoying) otherwise they fall and can potentially damage your GPS/Phone.
@wicked4u2c I couldn't agree with you more. I personally dont like anything mounted to the windshield either. Your custom mount seems great. Just curious though.... how much was your total cost? I might consider doing this myself if its not too costly.

I like it on the window myself then my eyes don't leave the road view when I'm interacting with my phone and looking at the nav.
