@pon58sonby Hi. Thanks for the comment. According to some articles I read, the church is completely trashed inside. The person who bought it did not take care of it at all and let it rot. Really horrible because it is historic.
That's 1131 Spring Garden Street. The Church of the Assumption. It was built in 1848 and faces demolition. I live in Pennsylvania and have been to Philly a few times. It's not my favorite city, because it is so very filthy. Last year, my friends and I went to see the Liberty Bell and Eastern State Penitentiary. After we saw the Liberty Bell, we walked not 3 blocks away from the touristy section and it started to become pretty disgusting. Such a pretty church, for such a bad part of town. :(
@wintervixen1 Thank you for the info. I was wondering about its specific details. I figured it was 19th century Neo-Gothic. I haven't been up close to the Bell since I believe the 1980s and early 1990s, but I am near the building where it is housed quite often and I was at the Penn around 2006. By the way, I just added a link with photos of the Church (and other pics of the day).
notice how Many many churches have closed? they're false.
