  • notice how Many many churches have closed? they're false.

  • @FantasiaDelight I am into the architecture.

  • @MichaelTheResearcher it would be great for apartments.

  • What a wonderful church! Is the pipe organ still inside?

  • @pon58sonby Hi. Thanks for the comment. According to some articles I read, the church is completely trashed inside. The person who bought it did not take care of it at all and let it rot. Really horrible because it is historic.

  • Have you ever heard its nickname, "Filthadelphia"?

  • @wintervixen1 Yeah, as a matter of fact, I actually put that word in the tag area when I posted the video, haha.

  • That's 1131 Spring Garden Street. The Church of the Assumption. It was built in 1848 and faces demolition. I live in Pennsylvania and have been to Philly a few times. It's not my favorite city, because it is so very filthy. Last year, my friends and I went to see the Liberty Bell and Eastern State Penitentiary. After we saw the Liberty Bell, we walked not 3 blocks away from the touristy section and it started to become pretty disgusting. Such a pretty church, for such a bad part of town. :(

  • @wintervixen1 Thank you for the info. I was wondering about its specific details. I figured it was 19th century Neo-Gothic. I haven't been up close to the Bell since I believe the 1980s and early 1990s, but I am near the building where it is housed quite often and I was at the Penn around 2006. By the way, I just added a link with photos of the Church (and other pics of the day).
