I love everything you do, dont let anyone let anyone tell you the opposite. Those people saying you do not know are only bitter because they charge for teaching ASL. But as you say there are tons of people like me that do not have the money but do have the determination and will to learn even when people around me seem to find it stupid or useless. A simple definition would be that it is a negative or oppressive attitude towards deaf people by either deaf or hearing people and organizations, and a failure to accomodate them. People who have audist attutides are considered to be audists. For example, the refusal or failure to use sign language in the presence of a sign language-dependent person is considered audism. I am Deaf and she is clearly NOT Audistic toward the Deaf Community...

She clearly doesn't know what she is talking about because she is trying to scam and making money out of us just because of talk with hand. It is easy for you to say this. I suggest you to learn more from your soon-to-be husband since you want to marry him.

@Tar2006 I have learned A LOT from him and ME and HIM can communicate bc he understands my "cave man signs" (what i call them...u know not sign language) and he reads lips extremely well.

I would just like to be able to keep up in conversations that he has with his friends. Whom are hard of hearing and/or deaf. I've tried looking for actually classes to take but they are 75$ or more and those are the NON credit courses.....

So how else would u suggest i go about learning?(seriously..)

@kasey898 Yes, it is called " Home Sign Language " most common in gesture in no based of rule for the languages. I understand where is your fiance come from. I want to encourage you to learn more through Deaf person who using ASL with subtitle somewhere in this youtube.com... If you want to learn more ASL, check out at - aslpro.com . ASL classes cost a lot but they are worth your money. =)

If you go to her website and you will understand what I am talking about and I can see her sign lanuage is very poor! She needs to go ASL class again. She wont make to ASL interpreter for sure.

You are not qualify to teach ASL at all. I would suggest you leave that alone before you teach the wrong stuff! We deaf people take our language seriously. What you just signed is STRAIGHT ENGLISH not ASL. Know the difference.
