Um.. no the 1st generation was the very 1st line of ipods made.. the 2nd was obviously the 2nd only they added app store, they changed the look and UI and such.. in 3rd generation the 8gb is pretty much the same as 2nd just upgraded firmware... 32gb and 64gb have a faster graphics core and has voice control.. i probably missed some stuff out but running out of characters

I wish there was a way to turn off that damn accelerometer! If you're walking and lower your arm while holding the Touch it ends up in the sideways position, so when you raise your arm again it's on a different screen. This is terribly annoying when you are listening to podcasts and need the forward and reverse controls. I find myself trying to hold the unit in the upright position the whole time (imagine the way you hold a glass of water) just to keep the screen from changing. Very awkward!

yes but on the iphone you can do it anywhere but it works BEST with wifi on ipod touch and iphone when you turn off 3g on the iphone

its not hard at at all if you have a wireless connection in your home then go to settings wifi then if your wifi is off turn it on and it will look for your internet connection it will display your connection name and then you click it then it will take about 10-20 sec to connect fully for the first time hope this helped

handbrake is an Open Source movie/file converter that can fix that for you. Totally legal. It can also rip dvd's. I believe it can run on Windows and linux machines as well, although I have only used it for OS X

You dont pay money for using your own internet. It cost if you are using your phone operator's internet. The ipod touch cannot connect to your phone operator's internet because it doenst use the SIM card.
