nokia ovi maps 3.06 dont work off line or without sim card, it needs some kb to preload, then you can navigate free. when you dont have credit on the phone or without sim card it doesnt work, i wait for 10 minutes for the gps, if it works after 10 minutes i dont know, i dont want to wait

@rithunarackal you have to connect the phone to the pc and use nokia ovi suite to download the maps

I have a question!Can i use ovi map on a commercial plane when it flying??

@chuahean95 Yes you can, but you'll need to make sure you have the offline maps preloaded. Also, make sure you have your phone on airplane mode!

@szabi113 Nokia doesn't lie like Apple. The maps are downloaded on the phone (You can use the phone itself to download or Ovi suite to download maps) and are then synced into the phone which means everything is in the phone. I have All of North America's map on my 5800 and i can use it offline anyway i like. i dont need a sim card for that! THATS WHY NOKIA ROCKS!!!
