Music ruins the nature of running and you can get yourself hurt....my opinion.

The reason they do not wear headphones is

First- Their proper runners who do not need music to distract them from their race

Secondly - Under Uk and prabably Us Athletic rules the wearing of headphones is banned and race officials are within their right to disqualify you from the race.

It stands to reason that anything that is preventing you from hearing oncoming traffic especially at night is dangerous.

Away from traffic its personal choice but in a race its banned
