Patagonia Fly Fishing: The Great Lakes Steelhead Chronicles

I have a cottage up by Lake Erie in Conneaut and just between Route 11 and the Ohio/Pennsylvania border I can think of atleast 3 different tributaries that have steelhead! Not counting the tiny streams that run into the lake that people have seen trout hopping up.

I'm sure there's plenty of fly-fishermen out there that have practically had their rods ripped from their hands as a steely attacks a streamer on the swing. Nothing like it! Yeah, some guys lift, but that's not my problem. I feel bad that they can't enjoy the fierce take of a hungry steely!!

all i ask if you are going to come up here to rip at least own it. many men including my self know how rig a fly and a really long lead. "chuck and duck" to make it appear even a fish on the gravel hit the fly. i have sat on my boat at tippy dam and heard "guides" tell their clients "o.k sir lift". that is ripping whether you lie to yourselves or not. you might be good at lining fish. but just a bobber and a spawn bag there is not a question if the fish is foul hooked......
