most catholic churches want people to go to a priest to confess and they say he is he only one who can forgive sins. Jesus never said to see a priest to confess our sins He said repent or perish. someone who says he turns the cheek and does not pay evil for evil, and conceals trangressions did not really repent of all sin. thanks brother. true repentance requires a hate for those things we did before. God gives us a new heart and therefore we must hate sin at all cost, just like him. sinning willfully can cost our soul, even one sin. we need to truly repent and cry out to God for his forgiveness.
