  • This was all building to the mass effect 3 video :o

  • in rift you can upgrade for about 6$

  • Could you please mute the video in the background, i have a hearing dissorder and I cannot hear what you are saying if there is noice in the background :I

  • 3D is just a second camera rendering, but the game has to be made with 3D in mind. If you use DDD, it will fake it by reading the depth buffer (not always correct due to tricks) to then stretch, skew and do other stuff to fake the 3D, but you won't be able to see the side of an object if it wasn't rendered originally.

  • single player good special edition=assasins creed

  • This game looks amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiing

  • I usually like your videos, but this one was really whiny.

  • That game looks sick*

  • That game

  • The only things that really bug me about steam are the crashes, the fact that updates are forced and you can't do any other games when your updating or downloading a game, and of course the multiple hard drive problem you mentioned.

  • does this demo have no sound for others?

  • @Cipyaar Er, well, you can hear the sound through TB's video. Thats should be a an easy enough answer

  • Have to agree with your comments on the Steam client. It's a great download client/store/directory/matchmaking/etc. But is missing some end user options that should be in at this point of the programs development.

  • It's true about 3D. I've seen one of the first 3D movies back in 1995 I think. So yeah, 3D has been around for a long time.

  • @pyepwner Yeah, the intro of that game kind of competes for my attention.

  • TB, If i remember correctly at least in the US both the Explosive Mission Pack and the Tactical Enhancement Pack came as Pre-order bonuses and not as a Collectors Edition(Augmented Edition) Bonus.

  • What happened to SOPA anyway?

  • @Sirrnoobalot It got shelved.

  • 3D is build into OpenGL, dno about other rendering software, it makes a second camera in game, so its not a filter, it's real

  • @falconmick

Bear in mind that only "post-process 3D" techniques like nvidias 3D Vision use a filter, 3D games (e.g. Killzone 2 and 3) though actually render two camera angles. And that would be possible with DX, too, not just OpenGL.

  • Usually the way you'd implement 3D is as a postscreen effect. Especially when using deferred rendering. Since the Graphicscard saves the depth of each pixel you can enable 3D as an aftereffect very easily and cheaply. It's of course not "proper" since it will not show the things that would have been obstructed otherwise. But doing it properly will require you to draw the scene twice. That doesn't take away much devtime but burns alot of rendering ressorces.

  • the "Art team" for any given company isnt going to just 'sit around'. they're going to be creating concept art for the next project (usually texturing or spriting), OR even completing such things, months before other units are done with the last. im a graphics designer @ *a company who's name wont be mentioned* :3 .. but 9 chances out of 10, projects will be almost meshed together. alot goes into games.. ALOT. good production team 'leaders' are the most under-rated people on the planet

    PS <3

  • Band of Brothers is great!

  • That old man looks like Hitler..

  • @dragothica Well then. Atleast we now know how far he is willing to go to attain Power... Infinitely.

  • @dragothica Hitler back from the dead.

  • However I do enjoy a finely crafted caboose every once in a while ;)

  • Don't anyone have this deleted Darkness 2 wtf is? I missed it and didn't watched before deletion, could someone send me a link if you happened to save this video by any chance?

  • Lol ty for helping me fix my prob with DLs stoping when i run games on steam

  • Darkness 2 is soo distracting. I have to keep rewinding to see what he said cause i missed it :P

  • You can get a sniper rifle in Deus Ex? Want. Want much. Oh, and TB, i think that if you "verify the integrity of the game's files" then it fixes the unavailable bug.

  • i hope the 3D crap dies out soon..

  • i hope the 3D crap dies out soon..

  • is magic the gathering online free?

  • Ouch @the first 2 mins

  • DLC ISNT FINE! FUCK OFF

  • soundtracks should always be included in the game.

  • @asdfbry i know right, just like they are included in movies dvds

  • @asdfbry Yes, but it would increase the cost of the game.

  • @asdfbry thing is: on a pc you can ( with some basic knowledge ) easily acces EVERY soundfile

  • 1:54 Noxian Commander Creepy Bird Guy Swain?

  • TB is a fan of BoB? Niiiiiiiiiiiiice, love that show..way too much.

  • I'm almost certain that 3D vision is "free" to any game that wants it. I think it can even be forced via driver setting in games that don't support it. While I don't use it, it makes since to support it since it essentially costs nothing.

  • TotalBiscuit vs Jack Thompson - I'd love to see that courtroom drama. Let battle commence!

  • I didn't watch it, I listened.. ( :

  • try to talk less

  • @19vines You're an idiot! Congratulations!

  • 4:00 i know im not the only one who thinks that looks like super mario

  • Comment removed

  • @Eincrou it's impossible to be proven wrong in this argument. Be we are both just expressing opinions. You say that we need 3D, I say we don't. That is all.

  • Valve should take this constructive criticism from TB and put it to use.

  • this game looks neat

  • Honestly, TB knows so much about these things, I'm questioning why he isn't in charge of some massive games corp....

  • @AltesseQQ

because he doesn't have a degree, maybe? lol

  • @StokedTardman Because it is freakin' difficult maybe?

Well, not maybe. It just is.

  • TB as a game developer..? Oh god no.

Just cause you play a lot of games, doesnt mean you know how to make one

  • there is no 3d filter bro

and putting 3d in a game requires you to merely put another camera in the scene

  • I didn't dislike because i liked the video..? :S

  • to the first question magic the gathering 2012 actully had that, i bought the game first and then dicided i really wanted the comic book from the collectors edition so i upgraded

  • TB, Y U NO GAMEDEVELOPER?!

  • @StokedTardman Because he's a gamer.

  • @StokedTardman cuz he talk no program

  • How are The Darkness 2's graphics much worse than the original's?

  • Thumbs up for the Steam changes and bugs, you are not alone ^^

  • Why do you ditch so much about shit thats not needed

  • yay for DLC tab

  • why yu no pick my question xD

  • Can someone please define what the 3D the 3DS and 3D movies and TVs actually use is called? I was under the impression that the N64/PS1/Saturn era of consoles were all 3D games because they possessed 3D graphics? I'm getting a bit muddled up here.

  • @ChromaAurora "Can someone please define what the 3D the 3DS and 3D movies and TVs actually use is called?"

    That's a good question.

In all my posts on this video, I have referred to it by its proper name, which is stereoscopic 3D.

Stereoscopic means that there are two images of the scene, and each eye sees a different image. The brain calculates depth.

It's not even accurate to call this technology "3D." The display/TV is still showing 2D images. Really, it's depth perception.

  • if you guy want to laugh at a 20 year old boy called simon sweat like never before whilst playing amnesia (and other stuff) then im Ur number 1 source, and im really down to earth so you will probable connect with me like crazy if that even makes sense :?

  • @MrSimonminecraft are you a spam bot?

  • I agree on the MtG foil conversion thing... It's ridiculous.

  • WTF is Fortune Summoners then?

  • 3d vision is so much better than console 3d. Trust.

  • that woman used to be a prostitute for the mafia... but then she took a bullet to the head

  • New screens from the new GW2-battlegrounds right here

    guildwars2guru - com/

  • Do WTF of Fortune Summoners

  • why does the goblin fella have a union jack vest to show that he's british?

  • @creederTh that's a strange question to ask.

  • i want to go play a 3d racing game now

  • Wen the girl got shot I crapped my self

  • :D @15:00

  • Do you reckon in the future you could mute any dialogue in the games when you're talking? I found it difficult to concentrate on what you were saying.

  • You could upgrade you're edition to deluxe on 'Frozen Synapse'

  • @darkinertia2 on the "store" page, it shows "new releases", "popular" and "special" and i think thats about it. and it would be nice if there is a DLC tab where all the new DLC is in it, rather than being in the "new releases" tab. which should be reserved for new games

  • I enjoyed it, but according to TB I didn't so I disliked.

You might wanna fix the end-splash.

  • @InfiniteFacepalm It says: "Please remember to like and favourite this video if you enjoyed it, dislike and let us know IF YOU DIDN'T'".

Admittedly, I did make the same mistake as you at first glance, but there is no problem really.

  • @KillerSnowballz Oh, it seperated the lines, making me think they were different sentences. Nevermind.

  • @InfiniteFacepalm the thing at the end makes perfect sense. if you liked it like and favourite, however if you didnt dislike and let us know why.

  • @iliketurtles1096 The line seperation confused me. I really wish people would downvote me so people would stop telling me this now >.<"

  • @InfiniteFacepalm You should probably read both lines.

  • @InfiniteFacepalm fukkin retart lololololo

  • @InfiniteFacepalm Reading comprehension, do you have it? There's a comma.

  • this is not relate to vid but is for total biscut you need to let people know about acta its very much like sopa/pipa but international

  • @zorncerabret he knows about it, he doesnt live under a rock.

  • In Dante's inferno you can buy souls (the ingame currency) as dlc

  • Played the demo for The Darkness II yesterday, and it's unbelievably disturbing, but SO fun!

  • Borderlands $20 on xbox market place, $40 of DLC

  • I'm thinking on buying second monitor, should I buy a 120hz or should I wait 1-2 years when I upgrade my old one and the 120hz will be cheaper?

  • Yes please! Steam, give us a DLC tab!

  • TB anwser me this why doesnt steam accept maestro creit cards it means cause that means i cant use it

  • Is the man ,who's trying to convince Jackie, Hitler ?

  • sad face darkness demno doesn't work for me

  • The virtual boy was 3D too, right?

  • I like the way he feels...he feels sticky.

  • BUT WILL IT BE ENOUGH?!

  • I think that COD actually has a very good business model when it comes to dlc, especially with the edition of ELITE. of course, my main system is the xbox so we get it all first lol

  • Comment removed

  • Darkness 2 looks incredible, i'll be checking that out for sure.

  • Comment removed

  • Totally agree on the DLC issues. I didn't buy Magic when I saw all the DLCs.

  • 3D T.V. & Cinema is absolute garbo & I can't wait until the gimmick passes.

  • How about DLC tab for the games you already purchased and when you are looking to purchase a game then it has the additional DLC tab to select the ones you want.

That you select your game on the news feed add the DLC tab there.

  • I hope he does WTF is Darkness II

  • @adj789 He did and he removed it soon after. Heres to hoping we get a redo. Though that would no longer be first impressions. Not that it matters to me.

  • @x3ICEx He claims...

  • @Planeswalker817 Podcast #2 reference, I get it, I get it.

  • What TB meant to say is "3D is a gimick in films and no film has ever benefitted from the addition of 3D. In games it's even more useless".

  • @soundslave "In games it's even more useless."

How is depth perception useless? Surely you think having two eyes is useful in life?

The brain is designed to receive two slightly different 2D images from each eye, and from that offset it can calculate depth and relative distances between objects.

Most video displays today are 2D because of tech limitations, not because 2D is a superior way to transmit visual information. S3D tech is beginning to become affordable and effective.

  • @Eincrou I can do everything now just as well as I can in 3D.

  • @soundslave "I can do everything now just as well..."

I'll bet you can. I can too, but that's not the issue.

I could also play my games in black and white just as well, but I would choose to play with color. My eyes and brain are designed to perceive the world in color.

When our brains are being sent sensory input in the same way as would happen in real life, the feeling of being inside the virtual world is enhanced.

This is why S3D will become standard as the tech improves.

  • @Eincrou it just won't. You can't make 3D a standard because alot of people find it nauseating. No amount of development will solve that. Artificial 3D can never replace 2D without dicriminating against this group of people. I'm not in this group but I know a few people who are. 2D is here to stay.

  • @soundslave They can make 3D a standart like USB or SATA. One Big unified specification that everyone has to use. Currently everyone is doing their own thing and no one is copatible to anything.

Also 3D will become a standart like surround sound. Every onboard soundcard and practicly all software supports 5.1 surround sound, not many people don't or only occasionally use it.

  • @cirk2 "Currently everyone is doing their own thing..."

Everyone is no longer doing their own thing. S3D on home entertainment systems became standardized when HDMI released specs for S3D in v1.4 two years ago. Every HDMI 1.4 compliant 3D source is now compatible with any 1.4 compliant display, just like with 2D devices such as Blu-ray&DVD players, AV receivers, etc.

PC never had standards problems b/c games are already designed in 3D. Stereo drivers use this info to make two images.

  • @Eincrou Then why is 3D Vision so thightly locked up against any other middleware like the iz3D driver or the DDD one. Nvidia does only sell the hardware while the other two only sell drivers. Thet situation gets even more perilius when you have a AMD GPU in your system.

  • @cirk2 "Nvidia does only sell the hardware..."

Nope, nVidia's stereo drivers are packaged with their video card drivers. In fact, they allow you to play in S3D for free in anaglyph -- even without the 3D Vision hardware. But, the stereo drivers and 3DV hardware are limited to nVidia GPUs.

    "AMD GPU in your system."

Radeons have been able to render S3D for some time, but only with native 3D engines. They recently partnered with DDD for a driver solution that works with nearly all games.

  • @Eincrou Thats my point, they Do not sell their driver as a product, they give it away as a feature of their hardware. (that 3D vision-TV thingy excluded)

So why are trey locking up their hardware against other middleware? AMD opend up a interface in their driver so any middleware or game could feed the 3D images into it and let the GPU handel the output. Nvidia is much more locked up in that regard.

  • @cirk2 "Do not sell their driver as a product"

I'm guessing you mean you can't buy the drivers to work with Radeons. Since they also make GPUs, it doesn't make sense for them to boost the capabilities of their competitor's product.

"So why are trey locking up their hardware against other middleware?"

See, this is the biggest problem facing S3D gaming: bad info. They don't lock the hardware. DDD's Tridef drivers work with nVidia GPUs and 3DV glasses. iZ3D also works. Check the websites.

  • @cirk2 you ignored my point that alot of people can't look at simulated 3D without feeling queasy.

  • @soundslave Since I defined the term standard as an industry wide agreement about how to do something not as a industry wide agreement to force you to use something you don't want yes I ignored it.

  • @soundslave "simulated 3D"

    Here you go again.

It's like calling the sound of an elephant trumpeting through speakers "artificial" because it hasn't been produced by a live elephant in front of you. No, the sound waves are the same.

A stereoscopic 3D forest scene on a display sends two images to your eyes, just as if you were looking at the real deal.

The challenge is getting each image to each eye without them seeing the image meant for the other. A solvable technology problem.

  • @Eincrou it is simulated. Unless the objects are physically moving towards you (actual 3 dimensions) then it's simulated. There's simulated and actual. As a screen can only ever do 2D images, it has to simulate 3D. It's simulated. Understand now?

  • @soundslave "Its simulated. Understand now?"

Obviously it's light waves from a monitor, rather than light reflected off a real object. But, the brain makes no distinction so your point fails.

What matters is how ANY light is perceived by the brain.

You seem to think that there's some special quality of "simulated" 3D that makes it unlike "real" 3D. This is false, but you continually fail to understand how the brain perceives depth and refuse to learn. Why wallow in your ignorance?

  • @Eincrou Actually you are the one that has failed. The brain can 'create' a 3D image from a 2D image. It's how pictures, paintings, television and games work. A 2D image is displayed on the screen and our brains interpret it into a 3D image. No need to acutally use 3D technology as our brains do it perfectly well already.

  • @soundslave What you mean is perspective, and it is only half the process. The other half it depth perception by stereo vision.

An one eyed man can tell the general geometry of an object by examating the perspectivic information his one eye get, but he needs the second one to make reliable guesses about distances in example.

  • @cirk2 "What you mean is perspective..."

Rather than just look up "Stereoscopy" on Wikipedia and avoid the heartache of making post after post that is incorrect, soundslave feels it's more beneficial for his self-esteem to intentionally lie than admit errors.

He knows we can verify the falsity of his claims in minutes, but this has gone beyond just being a debate for him. He is desperately fighting for his sense of self.

Well, anyways, that's the best guess I have for his behavior.

  • @Eincrou The human brain can iterpret 3D information from a 2D image. Its how photographs, paintings, television and video games have worked since day 1. No need to make a game 3d, because our brain already creates a 3D image from the 2D screen.

  • @Eincrou useless because 3D isn't going to help me put my rifle scope over a dudes head and fire.

  • @soundslave "useless because 3D isn't going to help me put my rifle scope over a dudes head and fire."

Neither do color displays. Do you also lament the fact that you're unable to buy TVs without colors? Is it a tragedy for you that colors have become standard in video display technologies?

Or is color so obviously beneficial for the experience that nobody would want to do without?

My claim is that the same will come of 3D in a few decades, when the tech is cheap and flawless.

  • GW2 press beta today!!!!

  • @MrSupermick16 I Approve ayuayayayyaaya

  • @MrSupermick16 i approve, but they will not be allowed to do any videos untill open beta i think :P x

  • @Jbehan1994 then why would they let only the press in.. that's what press does..

  • @MrSupermick16 REARRY!?

  • @yummahaphazza rofl oh rearry yummahaphazza ??

  • @cerldude Rearry.

  • @MrSupermick16 he travels to Germany so he won't have much time

  • @MrSupermick16 What?! Are you being serious? :O Orgasm

  • @MrSupermick16 TB is prolly playing now :/ fun for him but damn im jelous ;)

  • Hey TB, during my time as a computer science student I got to play with my university's 3D screen, which was a big deal back then (about 5-7 years ago).

At least in OpenGL it is not hard to make a 3D application use stereo vision. It involves setting up a different kind of camera and that is it.

After all the hard work of making the program run OpenGL on the SGI computers running the screen (from DirectX on windows) it took around one hour of reading docs and coding to make it run full 3D.

  • heyo

  • i could not agree more with your 'rant" on steam
