  • 16 people houses burned down due to a fireplace fire

  • I think Julie Andrews & Dick Van Dyke are brill!

  • 1:36

    ENCHANTMENT?

  • Wonderful !!!

  • Mary Poppins puts on a Cockney accent!! OMG!!!!!

  • I really don't mind Dick Van Dyke's bad accent. Yes... it's not very close to a cockney accent but his interpretation of Bert is so heartwarming, that I couldn't care less. ;)

  • One thing that HSM has going for it is that it isn't predicated on unassailable class stratification, with impoverished manual laborers singing and dancing like they aren't living a full-on hellish existence. Old Burt should have been dropping bombs down the chimney's of London's urban gentry.

  • those 15 dislikes need to die in a hole....

  • Prefer the Plastic Tree version <3

  • MARY POPPINS!

    MARY POPPINS!

    MARY POPPINS!

    ROCKS!

    ROCKS!

    ROCKS!

    WOOOO

  • Wait a minute! This isn't luck, it's soot!

HOW DARE YOU SIR! ( Punch Dick Van Dyke in the face)

    XD

  • So sad that Julie Andrews vocal chords are damaged... She sang so much with this movie and Sound of Music && other things... That now she can't sing any more:( If you notice, she didn't sing in Princess Diaries the way she used to. I miss her voice!

  • in a funny way this is the best movie ever

  • U gotta love this Award winning Song

  • There are real live chimney sweeps in my house RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Can't stop humming this song lol

  • @atrxroller

    Oh hell no.

There's a difference between fuckin' HSM and this.

Mary Poppins is classic and timeless, in 50 years people will still look back on Mary Poppins with nostalgic grins.

    ...

People will scorn HSM and think "why did I watch that?"

  • @TheNeonIcing Exactly my thoughts... i personally rather watch this than HSM, because this actually has a moral for kids, HSM makes kids think oh everyone is like that :P

  • I always wanted Mary and Burt to become girlfriend and boyfriend.

  • in 50 years ppl will look at highschool musical the same way people see mary poppins now

  • @atrxroller Ha! Good one! : p

  • @atrxroller No they won't. Mary Poppins wasn't reviled in it's own time the way that "High School Musical" was.

  • that little boy needs some skipping lessons haha

  • they dont make movies like this anymore. Remember watching THIS for the first time along with the wizard of Oz. What do we have now. Twilight. THAT SPARKELY MY LITTLE PONY PIECE OF CRAP. its nothing special, but THIS is what movies should be like.

  • dont you wish you lived in this time when it didnt take much to make people happy

  • This song made me want to grow up to be a chimney sweep. 17 years old and the idea still sound very appealing to me. Lol

  • 2:47 That's nightmare inducing. ;__;

  • I work at an outdoor museum type place that put employees as people in period clothing. For christmas this year Im being a chimney sweep, so i decided i should learn this song

  • this film brings back a faith in human race.

  • @jesienna83 A German language comment on a MP video describes this movie as HIMMLISCH=HEAVENLY.

  • Wow, what a doggy cockney accent ... he sounds Irish and Australian all mixed in, haha!

  • @damplyons I heard an interview with Dick Van Dyke where he apologized to all Brits for the accent :)

  • I want British children!!

  • No Chitty Chitty Bang Bang videos?

  • 13 people have no luck!!!!

  • @theaustralianidol they have never shaken hands with a chimney sweep

  • me and a friend started to sing "cim chim cher-ee, chim chim" our english sub was not impressed and soon told us off- misrable bugger!

  • i liked dick VD he was a boozer he was insecure as we all are

  • i miss those days as a young kid :(

  • I sing along with Dick Van Dyke's American-Cockney-Irish-Austrialian accent but when Julie Andrews comes in, I stop and sit in silent appreciation because she lost her singing voice in a throat operation in 1997

  • @BobMoose97 really? i thought it was 98

  • @BobMoose97 Did she really? oh my, never knew... such a shame ):

  • @BobMoose97 What!!!

  • I've been listening to this a week straight now

  • 12 ppl didnt get any luck rubbed off on them when they shook hands with a chimney sweep

  • Is it weird that I like him more than MP?

  • Awesome vid! Thanks for posting! Love singing it :D

  • the little kids are so cute in this

  • 2:51 . WTF. HOW DID THAT WORK OUT? XD

  • They helped make my childhood and I hope all they have all the blessings of the world

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx ABSOLUTELY! if they died, i would probably cry :)

  • I've decided that Dick Vn Dyke and Julie Andrews are not allowed to die. Ever.

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx I agree completely!!!!

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx

And they won't. Those awesome films they made won't ever die, they've become legends and will be remembered and enjoyed for generations to come:)

  • Chim Chim-in-ney Chim Chim-in-ney Chim Chim Cher-oo di di dah dah di di dah da lol I started singing this out of the blue today :D

  • @yyushi so whats ur point? you expect us to laugh?

  • I'm going to be a chimney sweep for my school's "Dress up as your future occupation/career" day tomorrow; perhaps I'll walk about the halls singing this.

  • If the children were singing with Bert at 1:01 to 1:14, Their mouths hardly moved.

  • I told my mom that it was lucky if you shake hands with a chimney sweep. Her response was that you've got to find one first.

  • @LuckyStarAlice13 That's true. If you can find a chimney sweep like Bert, you're pretty much the luckiest person alive.

  • CHUCKIE

  • I wouldnt mind being chim chim cher-ee with him!

  • musically, this is a creepy song

  • Do you also see a relation between his weird walking in the sidewalk and Monty Python's "silly walking"?

  • @kostbill 'path' not sidewalk in UK

  • @SHONENJUMPBOY thanks for the info. I am not an American and yet I really enjoy all these small differences in the language. For example, say "lorry" to an American and he doesn't even what it means.

  • @kostbill apology accepted. :p

  • please dont ever mention justin beibers name in this video.

  • @atrxroller you just did?

  • @AJISDON what i meant was im sick of reading justin beibers name EVERYWHERE people write pointless comments like "oh how come this vid has 4 views and justin beibers video have 3 trillion views" and "213213 people are justin beiber fans" seriously people need to get over this fag cuz even my dead grampa knows how terrible he is

  • @atrxroller i understand what you mean :) i was just making a stupid comment, but your right people should understand that no one wants to hear about him on hear, like many probably did, i came hear for nostalgia form my childhood :D

  • @AJISDON Justin Bieber

  • @RaphaelRavenwing haha :D

  • I really want to watch Dick van dyke walk like he does from 0:30 - 0:39 as a cute old man!!

  • Dick van Dyke was a great actor/dancer/singer, and I doubt there will ever be another up to his standards.

  • Out of curiosity, how does his Cockney accent sound to a Englishman? Or better yet a real Cockney? To us American's it sounds authentic :P

  • @Uberdude15 I'm English, and to me it sounds alright, especially for an American, but there are some faults with it sometimes. You can tell he's american sometimes.

I think he did a great job though :D

  • @Uberdude15 well it is widely regarded as one of the worst attempts at a cockney accents in film history, my family from the East End find it especially amusing and dire.

Aside from that he's a very talented actor and singer and this film wouldn't have been the same with out him. In fact the terrible cockney accent is one of the things that makes it so great. haha

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG! Sucha classic film!! Thank you for this!

  • It's all me pals! :D

  • dick van dyke is just the best there is no beter he is and will always be the best in the hole hide world :)

  • Try also the Finnish version by searching for "Kalevi Paskaperse" in Youtube!

  • i really dont know why but i just started humming this out of the blue lol..!!!

  • This makes me want to live in this time, seriously. I would sacrifice Youtube and iPods for this, when life was good.

  • @SuperMusicalDreamer Aye cause war is heaps of fun

  • @SuperMusicalDreamer in movies that is....real life not so much

  • @SuperMusicalDreamer "There's things 'alf in shadow and things 'alf in light".

  • @SuperMusicalDreamer But in about 8 years you have WWII. And in 20ish years you have the Nazis. Fuck that.

  • @sociopathpsych the nazis came before wwii

  • I love your work, I am a 47 year old Walt Disney movie addict, I love this movie, and it is nice to have an awesome sing along version....

  • @strongminded102 that's nice.

  • Mary poppins and the sweep getting Dirty in front of the kids Lto the fucking OL

  • 11 ppl didn't shake his hand and had an unlucky encourter dealing with a drug bust gone bad and wrist control. like if you get the inside joke. LOL

  • what really makes this song is the song before it, marry Poppins is one of the deepest movies Disney has made probably to date. it talks about such adult things for being just a "kids" movie. it is a door way to a place of enchantment.

  • @SuperFluffymonkey

adult things? like what? I haven't seen the movie in a long time, but I just got to do my chores from that movie lol.

  • @pcmacro not like bad adult things, it just talks about how adults force their kids to become models of them selves, you know what i mean? and this song is kind of talking about how no matter what you do in life, even if it makes you happy or not, the thing that will make you most happy is your attitude towards a situation. i was just kind of saying that watching a "kids" movie now as an adult you catch things that you wouldn't have understood as a child.

  • @SuperFluffymonkey You said it. So many parents try to mold kids into images of what they wanted to be or do things they themselves like (especially sports fanatics; and I mean the iphone glued zombies who watch seemingly every sport and every team, etc.) that a lot of kids don't even have a chance. It especially stinks when their parents are tools because kids worship their parents and don't know how many people dislike their parents. MP says be kind, thoughtful, respectful, & positive.

  • you missed two

  • I love this song!!!!! Best song ever!

  • On the rooftops of London... 'coo... what a sight!

  • now i want to be a chimney sweeper oh wait they are mocked poor income pluse there are hardly people that have chimneys now a days

  • such an innocence and pure emotions instilled in such a wonderful story.

    a piece of peace

  • I hate how so many people nowadays complain about Dick Van Dyke's bad fake British accent. If you ask me, it adds to the charm of the movie, I love it.

  • @TheNeonIcing I agree. Kids don't even think about that either. They just believe it. Also, pretty much every British show I've ever seen that uses British actors to do American accents is super over the top too (especially Southern oil tycoon type drawls, lol!). Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple, etc. have all had some really hammy American accents that are mega shakey. Still, they bring a smile and usually don't detract but add to the fun. Burt is extremely loveable and real.

  • DILDO

  • mary fuckin poppins. london!

    i love snatch

  • Chim Chimney ChimvChimney Chim Chim Charoo!

We hate those bastards in Claret And Blue!

  • where did you get the disney font?

  • 2:47 that's scary!!

  • This was my favorite song from this movie when I was little

  • i liked matt lee's version of bert better...

  • this is SO wrong

  • 1.27 its a flue not a flute. Not being clever just informative.

  • Bert is so cute. Definitely crushing on him.

  • @ledebin744 he's really old now haha

  • I'm helping make an adventure map in Minecraft, and in the carnival, we used the tune of this song for the background music.

  • They could really sing.

  • I love this, I really do! Thank you for putting this up. But I think there might be a minor flaw in the text, where it says, "a brush for the flute". I think it might supposed to be 'flue' not 'flute'. A flue is a major part of chimney construction, controlling the air draft going through the chimney. As far as I know, there is no correlation between a flute and a chimney, other than that air flows through both and has controlling mechanisms. Just thought I'd mention it. Love the movie!

  • Love this song so much... but Dick Van Dyke's accent... Whoa is it bad!

  • for gods sake pronounce your Hs!!

  • @GeorgeGenicidexxx Brits don't do that. That's just part of their accent.

  • I feel terrible saying this but chimney sweepers consisted of children and most died before they were teenagers because of the dust they breathed into their lungs. Makes for a worse song though.

  • @Kruezoraxe Historically, I believe you are right. And it was a terrible thing, like the child labor used in mills and factories. But this is a dramatization, for people who never had those experiences and want entertainment. I try to enjoy the song and dance, and forget about the realities from which the (fictional) plot is conceived. That's why the movie was made. But you do have a point.

  • We Japanese used to listen this song when we were in a elementary school.

  • 7 people are not as lucky can be!

  • @KillerDragon12100 make that 12

  • I'm 27 and I still love this movie!

It's kinda sad though that you didn't put one of my favorite parts from the movie on here where you get a view of london right before they ride down the smoke to the rooftop at the end.

God I love that scene. It's kinda surreal.

  • Reminds me of the good ol days as a little boy!

  • I LOVE MERRY POOPPINS

  • all those chimney sweeps that popped out of the chimneys are going to give me nightmares....

  • I love Dick Van Dike <3

  • Mary Poppins,Hogwarts class of 59'

  • merveilleux dick van diyke

  • This song is so frickin sweet. I usually listen to metal and techno but I sang this all day today! I guess its just got a place in my childhood

  • gone was the golden age of music in America, not its trash.

  • im 20 an i wanna kiss him

  • what is the first song bert sings where he has all them instruments??

  • @TheStephanie3530 Must be some variation of "Step in time".

  • epic sng

  • favorite mary poppins song

  • i wish i was a cockney chimney sweep in 1910

  • @bob67jones no you dont trust me lol. A lot of the children they sent down got stuck and died in there.

  • @bob67jones you do know that it was a hard time in europe. but yes, marry poppins makes everything happy.

  • @bob67jones Yea getting your lungs coated with sout is cool :p

  • @bob67jones but only in the world of marry poppins my friend. ;)

  • @bob67jones i agree

  • @bob67jones I don't. That's for damn sure.

  • @bob67jones as long as your okay with dieing by twelve from cancer and other such lung diseases :P

  • @bob67jones

unfortunately 12 people aren't 'appy, we must be 'appier for them... ;)

  • @bob67jones ...no you don't. You'd most likely be dead by the age of thirteen.

  • This song is talking about how bad of a job he has but yet he is happy about it...So I say to this be happy with what you have.

  • 1:52, Dick Van Dyke has the most gorgeous eyes EVER.

  • now what if he kicked the kids in the face now!? kickin his feet so damn high up in the air >.>.... funy though :D nice song, would make an ok lullaby

  • I LLOVE ALL THE SONGS ON MARY.P ID SUCK THAT BERTYS THINK COCK

  • @TheJohnnywalker123 SORRY EVERY ONE MY FRIEND PUT THAT COMMENT AS A JOKE WISH IT HAD OF BEEN FUNNY COS IT SURE ISNT JOHNNY

  • a brush for the flue, not the flute. the flue is a part of the chimney.

    billowed and curled.

  • a brush for the flue, not the flute. the flue is a part of the chimney.

  • The day's of innocence a long time ago I remember it well.

  • love this, i feel like a inocent child again! thank you for posting!

  • Y'know, I used to watch this countless times as a kid. Now, I learn that Bert, the charming cutie that stole my poor innocent heart, is Dick Van Dyke! I can't believe I never knew, haha. I feel so... stupid. xD ♥

My heart still skipped a beat watching this vid, so I guess I gotta watch the entire movie again. (Just to satisfy my Bert-Obsesson, lol) >:D ♥

  • I sing this song on my way to work a few times a week. haha

  • didnt know there was a darkside to the chimney sweep life...

  • shouldn't be accessable on a saturday morning :-9

  • Ooops I meant step in time (the next scene) is the best scene in film!

    But this is AMAZING too!

    God I love Disney!!

    <3

  • Probably the best film ever made! When I was little I crept on the roof of my play house and pretended to be Bert! I sung to my little brother...... Then I fell off and broke my leg -_-

But seriously this is one of the best scenes in film!

  • The thing is this song comes after Bert is talking to the kids about their father, so this song really comes out of nowhere.

  • @bluethunder25 Well, they need SOME reason to go off on a magical adventure with a reality-altering nanny and a most likely schizophrenic chimney sweep with commitment issues.

  • ah sweet old times.

  • It's hard to see the lirics

  • sung this today at high school (: let alone S.O.S

  • If only life can be as happy as this

  • I had this song drilled into my head in year 6... my teacher used to get us to sing it everyday in the hall for a play, and I mean everyday for months.. lol.

  • 4 people would rather see the Bieber movie,

  • Ministry of Silly Walks struck again ;-))

    But it's SOOOOOOOOooooooooooo good !

  • My brother (now 4), used to love this song when he was a baby.
