*0* Amo esta pieza... la versión original (la canción) también es tan hermosa TwT adoro las versiones en piano, pero esta en especial me ENCANTÓ D: está increíble *-* la amo XD
This is a chilean song from the time of Salvador Allende's goverment(1970-1973), it was composed by the Chilean band Quilapayun, the chorus was then took in all Latinamerica, Spain and english-speaking countries for demonstrations (el pueblo unido jamas sera vencido= People united will never be defeated)
Only advice I could give you to improve this masterful playing is to memorize it--and I imagine you already have it memorized. Perhaps you could find time to give concerts--busy though you must be! That would be awesome, truly awesome, because it's clear how dedicated you are to the message of the piece, and it comes through in your technique, demeanor, and overall musicianship. What can I say? Much better than I. ^__^
Excellent!! Very beautifull version in piano. The "Quilapayún" is a great musical group of folck and popular music from Chile and very combative history for the human right.
nice job!!... you can download the disc of Rzewski on my blog using rapidshare: musicadelguan. blogspot. com/2007/05/el-pueblo-unido-jams-ser-vencido.html
i saw rzewski perform this in new york city in the early 80's, and this great, emotional performance brought it back, as it did this beautiful song i'd forgot. thanks so much--
Sir, I've only been playing the piano for 10 weeks, but I've been listening for a long time, and that really was a very good performance! It's when I watch videos like this that a fire ignites inside me and I practise all the harder, in the hope that one day I'll be able to do what you can do.
Have you tried your local library? I found a copy at the Minneapolis Library and photocopied a few pages. I didn't have the energy to copy the whole thing, so I have only about 5% of the music from the whole piece. (I knew I wanted the second theme, though, so I made sure to get all of that.)
You're making me blush! But seriously, I just played it as written -- your version certainly took more creativity. (Apparently, the Rzewski wasn't hard enough for you, so you had to go about making it harder!)
I don't like very much the cause for use the melody, I mean the Communist movement.
But I can't say that this melody is not great, it's beautiful to listen and I ccould not take it out from my head for 1 week...

Amazing! I first listened to this piano work was played by Marc Hamelin. But you're amazing as well!
You're interpretation is more "choking".

Very nice performance! I love the melody of this piece.
I know a lot of performers don't like it when it's asked, but I'll give it a try: are you able to share the sheet music?.. I would be very thankful!
