For people who still don't understand, this is basically just a "what if" episode. So basically, what would happen if Tomoya ended up with Tomoyo. You guys should know by now that this anime is based off a visual novel where you take different roots for different endings. Nagisa's was the main-ending, but all the girls had their own ending where Tomoya ended up with them. It was impossible to interpret Tomoyo's ending in the story so they had to make a seperate episode like with Kyou.

@fiqx87 no this is OVA, hence the title Another World, it means in a separate world, what if Nagisa and all the other people never existed. In this world, Tomoyo and Tomoya are the main focus (their love story), Same with the other OVA (Kyou's chapter) that is another "Another World" chapter.

Clanned and Clanned After story are so great, I loved this bonus episode with him and Tomoyo. to be honest I always liked Tomoyo more than Nagisa so many liked Nagisa. But Kotomi is still the best, annoying how after story is mainly about Tomoya and Nagisa, I would of loved to see more of the old characters.

I don't like thinking of it in terms of the visual novel where this is an alternate universe, rather I feel that this scene easily happened in the time-frame just before Tomoya started dating Nagisa. Tomoya was hiding the fact that he started dating Nagisa to not hurt her feelings at that moment. This is just my theory :P As for the other OVAs, total BS, shouldn't have happened :D

If you ever play the visual novel it might help some, but you can make choices along the way, that changes the result of the story (the arc). Example, if Tomoyo never talked to Nagisa on that entry way to school after she said anpan (red bean bread) they relationship with them may never have happened. Several other actions would change the result. Based on fate of the story many of them really love him, and what is done and when affects who it is he matches with.

@RockMyOwnWorld the Clannad anime was made after the visual novel, which has several endings - one of them being him ending up with tomoyo. The anime meanwhile follows the Nagisa-route of the VN. But since Tomoyo was quite popular as well, they made her ending in a 1-episode ova as an alternate retelling of the story.
