  • What a genius!!

    Qué genialidad!!

  • @amhey It says 3 choruses (not choirs) from the first part of Israel in Egypt...

When did you sing in the Leeds Festival Chorus?

  • @RosemaryH1000 In 1970 and 1972 - we were very lucky instead of a triennial festival we had one after 2 years - as well we chartered a train to London to sing David Blake's Lumina (Ezra Pound words) at the Royal Festival Hall and we sang in Durham Cathedral for the British Association.

  • @RosemaryH1000 My translation of choeurs was inaccurate - thanks for the correction....

  • I'm not quite sure why it says 3 choirs - as far as I can remember it was Leeds Festival Choir augmented by some folk from Huddersfield Choral Society. If you want a small choir version get the recording from The Sixteen.

  • @amhey1 Many thanks. We know that Handel used choirs with about 50 singers or more. And his orchestras were more important than nowadays, about 40 or 50 musicians.

  • HAILSTONES! My God, as Haydn said, "When he wants, he can strike like lightening."

  • @AbdelOveAllhan Mozart said that. Haydn said: "He is master of us all."
