no harm my ass-me and my cousin stretched my superman across his livingroom back in 79 and his arm came clean off and out poured the smelly green syrup-wish i still had him since now they go for 8000-10000 dollars-unbelievable-or even if i just kept the cool fathead-oh well-love this commercial-its as close as ill ever get to one-thanks!!
"You can stretch their legs and arms,... it won't do them any harm!"
Oh yeah? Apparently the people singing these songs never had one of these toys. Stretching them did them plenty of harm! These were the first and ONLY toys to which I ever applied a Band-Aid.
I dunno about them but thers a guy on the internet who collects stretch armstrongs and he has an absolute massive collection of them some are mega rare such as these ones and his website is stretch armstrong world just google it and youll see
Oh man, I haven't seen the stretch Hulk since I was a kid. I had one but he got punctured in my toybox by one of my Star Wars ships and leaked all over my other toys, ruining a bunch of them. Thirty years worth of therapy later I'm still trying to deal with it all.
These are the greatest toys ever made!! When I'm dead I hope my heaven has these elastic stretches every where I look. I need them with me always. They are angles filled with corn syrup and known for their love...and I love them forever!!!!!!!!!! Long live the Mego stretch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting. As a latex mystic I meditate with latex inflatables (no joke) and so I indeed have modified also a modern Stretch Armstrong and Stretch Mr.Fantastic figure into inflatables for this (i.e. gel removed, bike tube valve installed inside head. Important: never overinflate to avoid ruining their body details).
I entrust myself to their balance and vibrations during meditation. They are a spiritual tool for me, like a kind of miniaturized psychic.

I had the Spiderman one. You can't stretch them like in the commercial. My brother and I did it and the skin split at the armpit.
All this goo oozed out. lol

These toys would have made more sense if the characters were Mr. Fantastic from Fantastic Four or even Plastic Man.

Interesting to see both DC *AND* MARVEL superheroes in the same commercial. I remember a Plastic Man one.
