well, let's see: season 1-3 he was def not depressed, it all started with The Wee Small Hours, when they first get out with his mom (IMO), and then it went all shitty, with his bro, and mom's cancer (or whatever she had), then her death and his, that's be like seasons 6 and 7, I guess. And now he's kinda in rehab.

But this all is in my personal opinion.
