I'm a huge Death Cab fan, and I ALMOST agree with you. The intro is really long, sometimes annoyingly long. But if you going to listen to the song, then you have to listen to the whole song. Not the radio edit.
fair enough bloody long intro, gets a bit boring on the cd or on youtube, but i saw death cab live at latitude and when they played this song it was amazingly atmospheric and trippy, absolute genius!
The intro is just a little odd and would be better if it were about 2-3 minutes shorter. Song has a very unique sound to it which makes it just great to listen to.
how the hell is this song popular....don't get me wrong I like some songs like sound of settling and soul meets body and even no sunlight to an extent but haha guess this is something only an indie emotional person could appreciate..again not hating jus dont get how the song is popular
I love both bands. I'd rather just say they're both great, because that's what they both are, great bands. The 4:35 ish intro to this song is kinda laughable though. This song is particular has a really unique sound to it though.
yah, i have noticed that the songs everyone likes are always overplayed at first. its really disappointing to see songs loved way too much and then never touched again
i actually believe that it was well needed, listening to it on the album as it brings in all the instruments one by one, you just have to get into each new instrument coming in, and the actual singing comes in perfectly, in my opinion
I'm not enjoying there new album, I really love there old stuff ( e.g we laugh indoors, tiny vessels, steadier footing ect.) but the narrow stairs isn't doing anything for me. I like this song though.
i rather enjoy the intro, its very relaxing and trancish

the intro is rlly long . . . and it's not really worth the long intro, because he says the same thing over and over again.

Fantastic intro.. Reminds me of old AOL radio "bathroom songs" that would allow time for the DJ to take a leak...

pretty awesome, but those 4 min. in the begging of pure instruments, is total un-needed, but whatever
