Are you suggesting that you have to prod and bounce the suspention to get it to sound right. Bit of a shame I just leave mine to play on its own and it sounds fine. I suggest you take it in to have it seen to...

Impossible to cue a track properly on a belt driven deck.Overpriced piece of ancient junk! Why would you pay so much for a belt and pulley glued into a piece of wood? Yes WOOD!
For you to know, the only DJ turntable which is decent from the High Fidelity point of view (should say listening... ;-) is the SL-1200, but for this kind of performance it does require a much better tonearm installed via special adapter boards (for Rega, etc.). Try to learn something before you'll post such silly comments...
Of course it doesn't skip! But using a huge tracking force intended for DJ'ing only, not to preserve the records for a long time as HiFi stylus do. If you'll go to the Ortofon website, you'll find that they separate the two fields from the start page. Please learn a bit more to avoid this kind of confusion... Cheers!
I'm thinking about getting a Thorens TD-240 to replace my old JVC turntable I've had since 1991. I'm thinking I can't go wrong. AND the Thorens TD-240 also has 78 RPM! Man, that suspension is awesome on that table of yours.
Oh wow, yeah, I missed that one! LOL. There must be some delay halfway through the video that we don't pick up on at first because obviously the music starts once the needle hits the record!
I though t it might be a delay between recorded sound to the vido, but I just played the video (from you tube site) on my computer and there is no delay at all. so it is probably a delay on you sound card. try to check on another computer.
i have a thorens td160 bc mk II. once i was a little tipsy and was doing the same and to emphasize it i said "the que the que" to which i heard "f...que". i just had my sme 3000 tone arm rewired and i thought 'i bet people put thorens, linn, etc on utube'!
My Thorens sounds just as good as plugging an iPod in and it's thirty years old so I'd say it is a well built machine.

well.....just because you can play with the suspension like that doesn't mean you SHOULD. you made the tonearm jump at the beginning and it skipped.

I did not understand one thing:
the video starts, the pickup drops and we start hearing music...
we hear just a pop and see the awesome demo, but at the end... the pick up lifts up, and THE MUSIC CONTINUE for two seconds... ?
How was possible ? Was the video dubbed ? That means the audio was not the one coming out from the player during plate shakes, and so .....
Am I wrong ?

@shpater It is so because needle is still vibrating even though it doesn't touch record anymore. It is similar to guitar string.

How is it possible that after lifting the arm the music continues? On my Thorens 160 it is complete silence!

There is a delay between the sound and image on this movie. in life of course it is the same as with your machine.
