What bugs me is that shows like two and a half men are so popular (density factor 10) while shows like Fringe and Detroit 1-8-7 which are well written and acted are on the cutting block. What does that say about the mentality of the average American TV watcher?

Honestly, perhaps Fringe will do better on Fridays -- it fills the niche of weird on Friday nights that has been left void by the departure of Numb3rs last year. CBS's Numb3rs lasted quite a while (6 seasons!) on Fridays at 10p, though it did dominate that time slot. And Fox making a spot that lasted a FULL minute when it could have run other commercials shows that FOX still has some trust left in Fringe ... they have reason to, because FRINGE has such a talented writing staff.

I really want to be optimistic about this for once in my life.

Even if Fringe does die, at least it was 3 seasons of pure fucking awesome. But, we'll see. I'm happy to watch it on Friday nights, I hope others will be too.

Here in Spain there is a GREAT community of Fringe fans following it in Internet.

The Spanish channel that owns the program schedules it like 6 month after they appear in USA, so we follow it in Internet.

This is a great show.In Turkey at least 750.000 people are watching this show on internet.If we had a chance to watch FOX on Turkish tv channels,we would contribute the number of viewership for Fringe.In my oppinion,Fringe is the greatest show ever so It should continue at least 4 season.There is no tv series like Fringe in Turkey.TELLİNG THİS TO FOX ''You cant cancel Fringe out because just the viewership of USA is not enough.You have no idea how many people are watching this show''

I love watching the new Fringe episodes online on weekends but it's postponed 'til Mon? :( I started watching when Eric the Midget was on and got interested and went back to watch the series from episode one on, every single one and look forward to the new ep all week long.

Friday is the death day. HOWEVER, thursdays is a really crowded day, so maybe, just maybe, this will work out in the show's benefit. And if it does get cancelled, i may have to go to the other universe and watch it there instead...

The cynic in me, who has watched all this play out more times than I can recall, knows that networks are perfectly capable of telling us they adore a show one minute and then dumping it in almost the next breath. Having said that, this does seem encouraging. Time will tell. We can but hope. Fox would be nuts to cancel the best show on the box right now, bar none. But when has that stopped a network?

I'm very encouraged by this. Fox is outright acknowledging the death slot and making a big deal about how this time it's *really* different. Just the fact that they made this promo specifically for this purpose is encouraging.

Bones and Fringe, the only two shows on television I just gotta watch--and I've even missed Bones once or twice... The network has ruined my Thursday night line-up, the only day of the week it was mandatory to sit in front of the tv and ignore all calls. I hope Fringe builds up on it's following like "The X-Files" did (remember that little show way back when on Friday nights that everyone said wouldn't make it?).
