The vacuum threw me to the floor so quickly, the machine snapped back, hitting the floor, then popped back up to whack me in the head. I was seeing stars as I tried to turn the power off and still for the next couple of minutes. I looked pretty funny carrying that vacuum around until I found tools to take it apart... it looked like I was wearing it as an earring. : )

If you came to me for advice about your hair I would definitely recommend that you have it cut. You should go for a nice ear length undercut bob, maybe angled as well. I would put your long hair into a ponytail or single plait and cut it off quickly at mid neck length before the styling cut. You would certainly look great with your hair short.
@Cancerian48 Like the advice! However, if you take a look at my chin structure in the video, I have a weak chin(s) as well as a thick neck (for a female) and although I love bobs, I don't think my structure will support it... It's not out of the question, though, because you're the 5th person who has said bob. I do, however, like to be able to pull it all back from my face when I'm working out... no bits in the lovely sweat. Any other cut ideas?

Well, I am relieved that I can watch the entire video now. The lady waving the scissors and saying that you want it and that the video was called "Toni's Haircut" had me thinking the video had a horrific ending. Faith Hill's "reasonable" length seems kind of drastic for you, in my opinion . I read some of the other comments and I was shocked to see that you live right here in Dallas. At the risk of sounding kind of creepy, your hair so beautiful that I would love to see it before "the cut".

Yes for an haircut and if you were living close to me, I would like to cut it for free and more buy your locks of hair. I think it is too thin at the ends and it would be nicer for you and also for your hair if it is shorter . I cut my hair (almost as long as yours) all-at-once to a bob so short it was almost a wedge! Loved it (nervous as hell but) never looked back since... Freedom! Plus I had more men actually ask me out in the first month after than ever before. (one rude man told me what a mistake but long hair fetish guys are like that). Donations used for extensions are sold to pay for the making of the wigs as well, but the longer hair is what is needed for the long girl wigs. Yours is what they would use!

Although I truly understand your ordeal, I hope like all long hair lovers here, that you wil not go too drastically short. Jeans pockets length or classic, or just above this as to not sit on it would be gorgeous, and still keep you in the "amazing mane" range for most of us(...)
You can't really be serious about cutting your hair. You are beautiful and have a uniqueness that others can only dream about. It would a great shame to get rid of this very feminine part of your personality. I'm sure your gentleman friend must prefer it to a short cut.....and if you want to give something to charity simply give some money rather than destroy something that must give pleasure to everyone who sees you.

Interesting comment (and thanks for the compliment) because various people have voiced those very words about donating. I, myself, used to say the exact same thing about my hair temporarily winding up on someone else's head as extensions. After 30 years, that's definintely not what I want. Someone was kind enough to give me the name of another organization guaranteed to give the hair to people with medical needs.

I knew there would be others who could relate! : ) It actually becomes dangerous more often than folks would know! The scene where the vacuum sucked up my hair was a lot worse in reality. As I bent to pick up the cord, the hair was sucked in so quickly, I was yanked to the ground in a split second and the machine whacked me hard on the head... I actually saw stars! Whiplash and stars! I actually laughed because I knew it would be a great story to tell. Any events you can share with me?
@toniburt Nothing bad or crazy has happened yet,. I kept my hair shorter for many years, never going beyond classic length until 2005 when I decided to go longer. Maybe my time is yet to come! I do take precautions by wearing it up in most situations. The vacuum brush is always a issue, lol. Although I use sponges now on the floors first to gather most of the hair BEFORE I vacuum. Sitting on hair, catching hair on doorknobs,clogging the shower drain have been my only issues so far.
@toniburt Hair sticks have been an issue and the only really crazy things have happened while wearing them. Catching them on curtains,poking people, hitting them on doors, stopping me from entering my car!
I limit use and only wear them for photos or for short periods at home. I mainly use claw clips for buns.
Sorry Young lady,,, as a stylist, I see a pretty gal with long stringy thin hair... NOT very attractive beyond mid back. Having show hair is NOT butch,,, It is the sign of a confident woman.

@cutscuts Hmmm... you're not the first person to come to me with this issue and I can tell you're passionate about it. I will certainly look into other avenues when the deed is done (I'd not heard about Pantene and I use Pantene products a few times per month). I appreciate that when you nix something, you offer another option/solution. Well done!
Long i fabulous! No doubt. I have a friend that had hair not quite as long as yours, that fifteen years back after wanting to grow hers to her ankles, decided she wanted a "haircut" . We talked and begrudgingly I trimmed her below knee length hair to the bottom of her jeans pockets. Her "girl friends" were pushing for an above chin length bob, but I could not do that to her. At age 55, it is still to the bottom of her jeans pockets. Don't let a barber butch you.

Bottom of the back, and then allow time to make further decisions. I have never had a lady friend complain that I took off too much. I can always take off more length, but putting it back is not an option. As for aging. Short haircuts age a lady 10-25 years. The barbers know that, but it doesn't sell the short haircuts that need constant attention and sell more short haircuts. Your mane needs a trim, not a drastic chop it all off.

As I mentioned to another, there are various reasons for cutting and I should cut while it still looks halfway decent. This is 4 years overdue. As for looking younger, I've decided to age the best I can instead of fight it... but thank you for the comment!

As for the "when", I think there really are some years to come until your hair *really* gets thin at the ends. As for now, most people would be glad to have your "thin ends" as hair on their heads...
Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I hope so much that you will change your mind and keep it. Cut one or one and a half feet if your "thin ends" really bother you, but PLEASE don't cut your hair off. It's such a gorgeous healthy, silky-looking, beautifully-colored mane! :)

Your hair is so long and gorgeous that it'll be sad to see you cut it. But if it is affecting your life especially your sex life - although long hair does turn most men on - you should cut it. I think you'd look nice with a Jennifer Aniston like hairdo.

Well, I am relieved that I can watch the entire video now. The lady waving the scissors and saying that you want it and that the video was called "Toni's Haircut" had me thinking the video had a horrific ending. Faith Hill's "reasonable" length seems kind of drastic for you, in my opinion . I read some of the other comments and I was shocked to see that you live right here in Dallas. At the risk of sounding kind of creepy, your hair so beautiful that I would love to see it before "the cut".

@UTAMaverick83 Mav, you are so funny! You crack me up! Watch the end... I've not cut my hair yet. It is getting thinner and thinner, however, and a cut is inevitable. To be honest, I've thought about everything from a buzz haircut to letting it go halfway down my back, to one like Faith Hill's cut (very reasonable). I've not made a final decision on the cut, so even I don't know the end of this story! I need the cutting to be special for someone and that hasn't presented itself yet. Cheers!

Yes for an haircut and if you were living close to me, I would like to cut it for free and more buy your locks of hair. I think it is too thin at the ends and it would be nicer for you and also for your hair if it is shorter . I cut my hair (almost as long as yours) all-at-once to a bob so short it was almost a wedge! Loved it (nervous as hell but) never looked back since... Freedom! Plus I had more men actually ask me out in the first month after than ever before. (one rude man told me what a mistake but long hair fetish guys are like that). Donations used for extensions are sold to pay for the making of the wigs as well, but the longer hair is what is needed for the long girl wigs. Yours is what they would use!

She keeps it up most of the time, except when we go out (weather permitting), or when we stay idly home. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Although I truly understand your ordeal, I hope like all long hair lovers here, that you wil not go too drastically short. Jeans pockets length or classic, or just above this as to not sit on it would be gorgeous, and still keep you in the "amazing mane" range for most of us(...)

You can't really be serious about cutting your hair. You are beautiful and have a uniqueness that others can only dream about. It would a great shame to get rid of this very feminine part of your personality. I'm sure your gentleman friend must prefer it to a short cut.....and if you want to give something to charity simply give some money rather than destroy something that must give pleasure to everyone who sees you.

Interesting comment (and thanks for the compliment) because various people have voiced those very words about donating. I, myself, used to say the exact same thing about my hair temporarily winding up on someone else's head as extensions. After 30 years, that's definintely not what I want. Someone was kind enough to give me the name of another organization guaranteed to give the hair to people with medical needs.

I knew there would be others who could relate! : ) It actually becomes dangerous more often than folks would know! The scene where the vacuum sucked up my hair was a lot worse in reality. As I bent to pick up the cord, the hair was sucked in so quickly, I was yanked to the ground in a split second and the machine whacked me hard on the head... I actually saw stars! Whiplash and stars! I actually laughed because I knew it would be a great story to tell. Any events you can share with me?

@toniburt Nothing bad or crazy has happened yet,. I kept my hair shorter for many years, never going beyond classic length until 2005 when I decided to go longer. Maybe my time is yet to come! I do take precautions by wearing it up in most situations. The vacuum brush is always a issue, lol. Although I use sponges now on the floors first to gather most of the hair BEFORE I vacuum. Sitting on hair, catching hair on doorknobs,clogging the shower drain have been my only issues so far.

@toniburt Hair sticks have been an issue and the only really crazy things have happened while wearing them. Catching them on curtains,poking people, hitting them on doors, stopping me from entering my car!
I limit use and only wear them for photos or for short periods at home. I mainly use claw clips for buns.

@cutscuts Hmmm... you're not the first person to come to me with this issue and I can tell you're passionate about it. I will certainly look into other avenues when the deed is done (I'd not heard about Pantene and I use Pantene products a few times per month). I appreciate that when you nix something, you offer another option/solution. Well done!

Long i fabulous! No doubt. I have a friend that had hair not quite as long as yours, that fifteen years back after wanting to grow hers to her ankles, decided she wanted a "haircut" . We talked and begrudgingly I trimmed her below knee length hair to the bottom of her jeans pockets. Her "girl friends" were pushing for an above chin length bob, but I could not do that to her. At age 55, it is still to the bottom of her jeans pockets. Don't let a barber butch you.

Bottom of the back, and then allow time to make further decisions. I have never had a lady friend complain that I took off too much. I can always take off more length, but putting it back is not an option. As for aging. Short haircuts age a lady 10-25 years. The barbers know that, but it doesn't sell the short haircuts that need constant attention and sell more short haircuts. Your mane needs a trim, not a drastic chop it all off.

@stutkm75 You're funny. Yep, I grew it because guys liked long hair [back in the day]. As I mentioned to another, there are various reasons for cutting and I should cut while it still looks halfway decent. This is 4 years overdue. As for looking younger, I've decided to age the best I can instead of fight it... but thank you for the comment!

As for the "when", I think there really are some years to come until your hair *really* gets thin at the ends. As for now, most people would be glad to have your "thin ends" as hair on their heads...
Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I hope so much that you will change your mind and keep it. Cut one or one and a half feet if your "thin ends" really bother you, but PLEASE don't cut your hair off. It's such a gorgeous healthy, silky-looking, beautifully-colored mane! :)
