thank you so much for helpin me out , i thought i was never gonna play those notes !!! i literally could be lost without you in music class ! thank you so much again :) !
@JoseNickProductions lol, depends by what you call decent. I've been playing since four days a go and I can climb to the high A. What I didn't tell you is that I'm also a trumpet player :D.
i play french horn too and i am only in 7th grade going into the symphonic band but this summer i did not practice i cannot get the right face anymore i am catching on a little bit can someone help?
@Huskyowner2007 this is what i normally do. For C kinda relax your jaw and dont move your mouth a lot. and for E just tighten up a tad. and for G tighten up more and once you get that done you can just feel the note and let it out but you might want to practice on your mouthpeice first and get the feel of it and then put it on your horn
@rachelmray learning how to play i rough but once you are playing for about 2 months you are going to fall in love with the french horn. last year 6th grade, i hated it at first but now that i am going into symphonic band in my 7th grade year and now i love everything about the french horn!
haha that's okay man! Horn's got quite a learning curve. It took me about a year to get any sort of good at it! Just find what works for you and run with it!
I wish my band teacher would watch this vid because he makes me play a D to play a G on a piano. He always ask me to play a G, When I do, he says i played it to high. I wish he would understand that a G is a C on a piano. That helped me my first time playing! Thanks!

A "D" on a French Horn is a Concert G. Transpose any French Horn notes down 5 semi-tones and that is your concert pitch.
