  • LOL I still have a VCR and i have the original Disney movies and all the Disney sing-a-long tapes. My family also has VHS tapes of our home videos. that's the only reason we still have our VCR and VHS tapes.

  • @h0n3yma1d I loved that the disney movies came in that really padded white plastic open-like-a-book covers.

  • @cyspence me too! i have most of them, like I said. we had a whole cabinet full of VHS tapes but it's since been stored in our basement and haven't seen the light of day since. haha. Rewinding was the worst! I remember having the coolest VHS tape rewinder ever! it was a race car and when we would rewind a tape it would make that sound and sounds like a race car! haha. good times. oh the joys of being a 90s kid =D

  • I am older than many of your fans I think. But I have a vhs player still and I still watch movies on it because some of them are not available in DVD or BluRay. You can still buy VCR's because I got a combo VCR/DVD player for Christmas. But yeah.. I am an 80's kid.. I remember the days before CABLE!! LOL I also recalll Cassette tapes and still have a casette player as well because I used to record the radio and listen to stuff from that too..LOL Yeah.. I'm old.

  • @KatieB480 Tape players!! When I was little I'd record my favorite songs off the radio on cassettes so I could listen to them whenever I wanted. I actually still have that radio out in the garage and it actually still works! I use it whenever I'm cleaning out there.

  • I have a dvd/ vcr player still. all of my old disney vhs tapes are still at my parents house as well.

  • @hometowncutie I had one of those combos at one point...it always scratched my DVDs and wrecked them lol.

  • I miss vhs. Anyone here remember Betamax?????

  • @thedudecalledpj we still have our Betamax! we have home videos on Betamax tapes and I sometimes watch it.

  • @thedudecalledpj My family never had betamax anything. :\

  • Mine is broken, but i wanna get it fixed though :)

  • I'm a 90's kid so yeah I was with VCR's and junk. Dunno what it means though actually, Video Capture Receiver? THat's a good guess me thinks. So anyway yea, VCR's were fun but rewinding never was all that cool. DVD's make it much easier with scene selection hehe

  • @mEcHjaW I miss how easy it was to fast forward and rewind with VHS. With DVD/BluRays you get this REALLY jumpy scrub through that's annoying.

  • @cyspence i agree, especially when you're like "I LOVE THAT PART! Let's replay it" then you rewind for like 2 seconds and it goes back like 2 scenes hahaha

  • Andre was way off on the percentage. Haha, does Andre have a youtube channel?!

  • @Scrussy Yep!!! His channel name is shade5511

  • I would still watch my VHSs, but my VCR took a shit like a year ago :-( some movies I still only have on VHS and don't want to re-buy on DVD. Rewinding sucks though!

  • @ash29ley I never took the step of "upgrading"/rebuying all my movies in DVD. I just stream everything I want to see. I rarely buy movies anymore unless they're dirt cheap or one of my all time favorites.

  • Video Cassette Recorder xD I still have one! I watch my old Disney VHS on it xD Still going strong

  • @UchihaHelena very nice!! I don't think I've watched a VHS anything since high school.

  • I still have VHSs! I watch Aladdin on it with my boy. I have other tapes in storage. I kinda like 'em. Nostalgia, I suppose.

  • @RandomAwesomenessCo Ahh!! Aladdin's one of my favorite disney movies!

  • @cyspence Yes! I think it had some of the best songs. "Riffraff, streetrat, I don't buy that...." lol

  • Are you kidding? i love my old vcr x3

Me and my dad wear out national lampoons christmas vacation every christmas :D

  • @windchill1belle awww, traditions are awesome.

  • VCR Video Cassette Recorder

I made money setting time on them for people ;-)

  • @StevenHagen01 realy dad

  • @StevenHagen01 haha really!?! That's awesome

  • I've had many VCRs and remember when I had to fix the tracking on some.

  • 1990. I've had plenty of VCRs and tapes to watch :P

  • I always thought it stood for 'Video Home Standard' Turns out, I am wrong :P

I remember getting a standalone VHS player for Christmas 2004 (I was 10 at the time) and it was the greatest thing ever! I used to constantly watch 'Only Fools and Horses' and 'Laurel And Hardy: Way Out West'

I loved that thing :) Although having to set the tracking was always a fun challenge.

  • @05faber I don't think I've seen those movies

  • I don't imagine anyone born before 2005 haven't watched a VCR tape.. well, (not including people who couldn't afford them)

  • @RageMelody haha we were just a little off. It just seems like they were older than that.

  • I remember them! I loved the jungle book as a kid and wore it out xD That film is the best.

  • @ThatOtherSophie I remember watching that one with my brother at one point. Aww memories

  • I would use my old VCR but all my movies had water damage. I lived in a tropical island. Humidity+video tapes= no bueno.

  • @TheActorsChronicle Mine have been in the garage a few years. I'm pretty sure the humid summers have killed them lol.

  • @TheDeuceWins Awww, good 'ol grandpa electronic haha

  • I've still got a VHS player and bought Harry Potter #2 on VHS because I couldn't afford the DVD at the time :P (lol, back in the day...)

  • @LanethSffarlenn DVDs at first were crazy expensive, glad they've gone down :P

  • I still own my VHS player, I grew up watching them... old disney movies were so much cooler before they turned to dvd because you wore them out and they jumped at parts, just added to the greatness of the movie <3xx

  • @DanniDooocus90 Gave the movie more character and you had more of a connection with the movie. Does that sound weird? lol. That's one of the reasons I'm sad all the theatres are switching to be exclusively digital and no more physical film.

  • i still own my VHS's!!! the ones im most proud of........ my starwars!!! lol XD

  • @0frzire0 The one's before George Lucas started messing with the movies! haha

  • I used to love watching VHS videos, then DVD's came out. Haha, I remember owning a VCR

  • @videogames2201 oh the good ol days

  • I never had a VCR, my parents did, they had some tapes... there was something though Lazer disks maybe that were giant! we had then it went to something else..but I owned my first Blu-ray player/ 3D last summer :) I'm so glad I never had to deal with tape lol

  • @Misbcate01 Lazer disks were huge!!! Like a pizza.

  • Last time I counted, we had 126 VHS and 720 DVDs.... My grandparents are movie buffs C:

The only VHS I still watch is Fern Gully, because I can't find it on DVD. And we still have a VHS rewinder... aw man, I miss rewinding movies.

  • @CimoreneTheRebel I have Fern Gully on DVD. Got it at a dollar store.

  • @julieannaClark @CimoreneTheRebel I've found it on Amazon.

  • @CimoreneTheRebel Holy crap! That's alot of movies. "Be kind rewind", oh Blockbuster...

  • VHS stands for video home system (and I didn't even google it). I grew up on those things!?i watched jungle book so much when I was a kid, I wore the tape out and my mom had to buy me a new one.

  • @bbekahboo2391 Very nice! Thanks for not cheating lol. I wore out "Mrs Doubtfire" - one of my all time favorite movies.

  • @cyspence I love that movie!... other than the fact that it comes on ABC family like every other day. hahaha

  • i had a vcr. im 15

  • @nelbuscus Nice! I'm seeing most people remember having them.

  • There's a VCR built into my old T.V., but my mother had the audacity to throw all of the VHS's out. Now we only have the holiday films on VHS, and are forced to watch it on a miniscule screen because she refuses to buy DVD versions. Her logic astounds me at times.

  • @AceHainley Good 'ol combos. hahaha, scared of change perhaps.

  • I still have VHS's. All my classics like Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Tigger Movie, Nutcracker On Ice are on my shelf. Unfortunately, my VCR was on it's last leg a month ago, and now it doesn't work. :.( I had that thing forever! I think I have a few movies on VHS that aren't available on DVD.

  • @julieannaClark nice!!! I still have a bunch of our VHS tapes, though we no longer have a VCR...

  • @julieannaClark A month ago!!! Holy crap!

  • I grew up with a VCR and Disney Tapes :) (Video Cassette Recorder)

  • @TheAlexisLord Yes! Video cassette recorder :) Disney tapes were the best.

  • I was one of the last people in my town to get a DVD player, which means I've used VHS.

  • @Werewilf My family actually waited a while to get a DVD player too.

  • 3rd

  • @shade5511 wooo!

  • SECOND

  • @StraySpence Good job me.

  • @cyspence LOL!
