  • I love this video :) Perry so humbly gives the glory to God. He takes all the negative criticism making no defense of HIMSELF but rather points directly to God and says, "Scoreboard!" Basically saying, "Look at what God has done here!" :D There is no arguing or dismissing the obviously powerful work of God that is happening at that church. Perry gives no credit to the works that he has done, but purely to the work that God has done through him and all the people around him! :) LOVE IT! :D

  • "[14] And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

[15] And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." - Luke 16:14,15

  • I believe he wasn't saying his scoreboard but God's. "what god has brought together let no man tear asunder" Things are happening, God is moving. Why fight this movement? I personally went from being angry at God and dismissing Jesus to now reconciling my relationship with my savior. And this is because Newspring opened my eyes. That God loves us. That god WANTS us to save souls, for us to be saved, for us to love. Why fight when good Godly things are happening? I do not understand.

  • Scoreboard all you want.....boasting of what you are doing or what God Himself is doing?! Just another sign of Brand Name religion! There's a reason you draw detractors...maybe...just maybe there is something amiss here? Think about it people!

  • duh

  • This video is AWESOME!!!!! God is using NewSpring is HUGE ways!!! So run up the scoreboard in Jesus name!!!! WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • "I FELT THE LORD TELL ME"!!!! How often have we heard this. He is alive, in our hearts it is clear many so called Christians feel the need for an idol.

Just the Warren association should be enough but then in the end times the one thing , the only thing that the church is in desperate need of is DISCERNMENT.

  • @TR5T amen to that i feel the same way...God bless you..well said

  • u kind of felt the Lord tell u its worth it??????....u actually have to audacity to suggest that those who attack u and your highly questionable preaching tactics are attacking God????....are u that delusional???.....guess so....yikes!!!....scoreboard???....even Christ himself prayed for his enemies....imagine God acting like this jackass??...thankfully not!

  • Lord, Lord! Didn't I have a really nice scoreboard?!

  • By definition, the seeker movement is all about numbers. Not the numbers of true converts but the number of people they can gather to entertain on a sunday morning.

  • He is not boasting about the stats of his church, he's saying that the criticism (like yours) is worth knowing that God is moving in that church. God is moving there in a unique way. He's not bragging on him, but the Lord.

  • @joshimator Well said, young man. He preaches the gospel and people are saved and their lives are changed. For some unknown reason, churches are afraid to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and give an invitation.

His formula is simple: Preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and ask people if they want to accept Christ. An amazing thing happens-they get saved.

He gives no glory to himself. He is the most self depricating man I know.

  • @mark0454 "Accepting" Christ isn't biblical. That type of theology turns scripture on it's head. It's always been about Christ accepting us AFTER repentance & trust in Him. Furthermore the idea of "accepting" Christ puts the decision of salvation in man's hands rather than what scripture says; the Lord is the author of salvation. He has chosen some to come to faith in Him and be saved (Eph 1). Most are not chosen but passed over (Matt 7). No one comes to the Fahter unless He calls Him (John 6:44)

  • @joetrainer31 Good afternoon Joe. I hope you are well. The word acceptance infers that the gift of salvation is offered to us in Christ, and it is our decision to recieve it. If this word is a stumbling block to you then the words of Christ may sound more apealing when he said: come unto me, believe on me, follow me, come to the Father, take my yoke upon you, receive. The gospel is replete with words of INVITATION by Christ, which would infer an acceptance or rejection of that invitation.

  • @joetrainer31 You are exactly correct that we are drawn by the Holy Spirit unto Christ I choose not to derive the truths of the Gospel from a word or verse, but throught the whole scripture. However, to answer John 6.44 you need only look at John 6.45-47 to see that ALL shall be taught. That he the BELIEVETH on me (Christ) shall have eternal life.

The entire Bible consists of the offer of redemption and man's decision to accept or reject that redemption.

  • @joetrainer31 "That type of theology turns scripture on it's head" Brother Joe, what I find is the origin of confusion in this area is a misunderstanding of the ENTIRE premise of scripture. The Bible cannot be wholly understood except in its entirety. Words and verses to do not explain truths.

If you love the Lord and want to know of Him, read his book from cover to cover. There you will see hundreds of examples of those who DECIDED to ACCEPT God's grace, and those who CHOSE to perish.

  • @mark0454 Thank you for your reply Mark. I'm sorry but I just cannot agree with your presuppositions when it comes to salvation and who is ultimately in control of it -they just aren't biblical. God's either in control of everything including who He saves and doesn't save or He's not God. That is a thread that can certainly be followed through the entire cannon. The view point you assert is Armenian in nature whereas I would hold to a Calvinist view point.

  • @joetrainer31 Armenius? Wasn't that an Apocryphal book> Calvin? Wasn't that between Haggai and Malachi? I am kidding.

Joe, I have read the Bible cover to cover 26 times. I do not filter the Bible through a man's interpretive system. But what I can tell you is the Bible is filled with illustrations of man's obedience and disobedience to God, and the reward and punishment that accompanied that.

Does God know what we will do? Yes. Does he force us to do His will. We simply just don't know.

  • @mark0454 Prov 16:9 The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. 16:33 The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the LORD. Also Isa 46:10. God's complete control (sovereignty) over all His creation is clear and that includes the means and ends of who is saved...just read Eph 1. Man does not seek for God on his own (Rom 3) it is only those whom God chooses. Otherwise man is a slave to sin (Rom 3,7). Agreement w/me isn't important. Submission to God's word is.

  • @joetrainer31"But the LORD directs his steps."I am so glad you have referenced Proverbs. There is no greater book to illustrate the admonitions of living a Godly life and the consequences of WILLFUL disobedience.

"A text without a context is a pretext to a prooftext" I am afraid bantering with me will prove a little boring. If you challeng me with a verse, I will respond with a book. Proverbs is a book of admonitions which infers that we have the WILL to obey or disobey-reward and punishment

  • @joetrainer31 Isaiah 46.10 This is a wonderful text, and you are so right. God told Abraham that he would make of him a nation. He repeated this covenant all through the Bible. Chapters 42-66 of Isaiah reiterates that God will redeem and restore his nation in the millenial kingdom ON EARTH and that no denomination (Reformist), no man (john Calvin) and no church (replacement theology) will hinder His purpose and pleasure that Christ will sit on the throne of David as king of the Nation of Israel.

  • @joetrainer31 One more thing and I will shut up, and there may be some agreement here. Rom 1.20 God's creation point us to Christ, the Bible points us to Christ, the Law points us to Christ, the Gospel points us to Christ. The Holy Spirit points (draws) John 6.44.

Who does he draw, who are taught, who are saved John 6.45 ALL who learn of the Father.

For God so loved the WORLD, that WHOSOEVER believeth.

He is not willing that any should perish. Did God fail or man resist?

  • @mark0454 God did not fail and man cannot resist if/when he is called.

  • @joetrainer31 I completely agree with you that God did not fail. And I further agree with you that God is sovereign over all. However, from Adam and Eve to the Millennial Kingdom, scripture has demonstrated that this same sovereign God has given man has the choice to accept or reject salvation.

I have never seen a verse that is sufficiently clear to contermand the hundreds of examples in the Bible of man excercising his free will.

  • @mark0454 Mark I would suggest systematic theology by Wayne Grudem and specifically the chapter(s) treating election and reprobation (ch32), and the gospel and the effective calling (ch33). I think that would be a huge help to you as it was to me.

  • @joetrainer31 You have made an excellent point and it is germane to my point. I have suggested that you read the Bible, and you have suggested that I read the works of a man who, Wayne Grubem, who has written a commentary on the works of a man, John Calvin.

I have read Grubem, and there is much that I agree with. Howvever there is nothing that I disagree with reading the Bible, alone. I would again highly recommend just reading the Bible. Not as intellectual approach, but the origin of truth

  • @joetrainer31 Brother Joe, I have addressed each of the verses that you have given me to support election, limited atonement and irrisistable grace. You have not countered my explanation. I am sure I have not convinced you.

I am happy to continue. However, I would love to share with you the thing that has blessed me the most in my life and that is simply reading the Bible from cover to cover. It will either further substantiate what you already believe, or you will find error.

  • @joetrainer31 One final thing and I will shut up. Accept the Bible for what it says. There is much symbolism, metaphors anthropormorphism and alligory in scripture. However, it is posed as just that. But when the Bible says the nation of Israel over and over, it means just that.

Doctrine is never obscure, but repeated over an over.

Never let someone give you a doctrinal position with one verse. Examine the verses around, the context and the audience.

    Sorry, I am being condescending

  • @joshimator When was the last time he broke down into tears and prayed for hours and hours in front the church because his burden of the sinners of this world was too great?

Have you heard of Evan Roberts? Are you familiar with the Welsh Revival? Have you any idea how Church should function? Would you say the Welsh Revival was wrong?

  • when does this guy preach the bible?

  • @SpcMedia21

He can't preach because obviously he hasn't read it.

  • @SpcMedia21 Great point!

  • I love it. If you get criticized then claim that you have been "bashed". What a girl. Oh, and the "scoreboard" appeal is just lame. The scripture calls us to be faithful. We aren't guaranteed numerical success as a result. Sometimes it happens that way. Peter's first sermon is a notable example. Sometimes it doesn't. Stephen's murder is a notable example.

  • Umm, Jesus didn't die so more people could come to NewSpring. He died to atone for the sins of mankind, pal. I would say I feel sorry for the people in his church who are being led astray, but I believe Paul Washer put it best when he said that false teachers are God's judgement upon those that would listen to them. Perry Noble is a reflection of the people who choose to go to his church and add their numbers to his "scoreboard", and that's incredibly sad.

  • I would like to Blog about the Scoreboard. As I see it, the Score is God = Infinity, Perry Noble = Zero. Actually, Perry Noble probably has a negative score considering the recent, violent harassment of AU professor James Duncan, his total lack of training in theology and biblical interpretation, and the fact that his ministry impacts less than 10% of the addicts and broken homes that he claims. Ah yes, the Scoreboard. Hope that works out for you Perry.

  • Perry Noble seems like a self-obsessed douchebag of the lowest form. Wow.

  • Jesus' 3 year ministry resulted in just a handful of followers? No my friend, it perhaps resulted in just a handful of Apostles. That is certainly not the same thing as the number of followers that He had, which by all accounts numbered in the thousands. Not to mention the growth explosion that occurred after His resurrection.

As for the video, I understand the point, but I definitely disagree with the delivery.

  • @mysterymayo What's really sad is the silence coming from Perry Noble over what some NewSpring Staff members did to James Duncan.

See: Calling on the people of NewSpring to demand Perry Noble to repent and meet with James Duncan

You can go to my blog and read about the how some NS staffers tried to destroy Mr. Duncan because he is a critic of Perry Noble.

  • YOU AGAIN! lol You are so obsessed with bringing people down aren't you? I've seen your name come up with just about every newspring video. Where do you find the time man?

  • and he does not even know why Jesus really died.

    tim.

    reformata.

  • It's wrong because Christianity is about GRACE. It's about Christ's work on the cross, not our work on our own. If we were left to work our own salvation out (by keeping "score"), we'd all get what we deserve. Hell.

  • Noble, did you miss the Gospel entirely? It's all about Grace, all about Christ sacrificing his life for us, not YOU doing whatever you think is right. You are incorrect, and you are being heretical by taking credit for that.

Jesus did not die so you, Noble, can have a scoreboard. Jesus did not die so we can feel good about ourselves. Jesus died to save us. He died the death we should have died, and lived the life we should have lived.

    Anything else is heresy.

  • Perry,

My prayer for you in that the Lord would humble you, I don't know a lot about your ministry, but i do praise God for what he does through you. I really don't say this out of anger, or malice, but out of love for you and those on that are under your leadership.

    In Christ,

    Bud

  • that's pretty funny. everyone needs to take a chill pill...man, go hang out at family christian book store or something.

  • We are saved by grace through faith. It is the GIFT OF GOD. So that NO ONE CAN BOAST. To appeal to a scoreboard is saying "i'm doing better than you are, so shut up."

Where does he get this prideful boasting from? If he has done any true "good work," he would be glorifying God for it, because it is the WORK of GOD. He ought to be drawing the attention to GOD, not the "stats" of his church.

    So arrogant.

  • @Floatie114 That's what he was saying SCOREBOARD for....scoreboard for Jesus doing work in that church..he wasn't boasting about himself...and by the way...that verse you quoted out of context is about boasting about ones own works to get to heaven...you can boast about things of the Lord..and things that He is doing!

  • @surgicalbassist If you knew about the history of revival and how church functions during a true revival you would indeed say scoreboard.

The Welsh Revival lead by Evan Roberts ring a bell?

Churches during the Welsh Revival did not close for days at a time. People would be there all night, several nights a week. The entire church would pray together for hours continuously and entire towns were changed

if God is in this church why do people not stay long into the night? Better things to do?

  • @Icannottolerateit

There is a video called "Superbowl at NewSpring" here on you tube. You may have already seen it. Instead of seeking fervently after God like they did in the Welsh Revival, Newspring makes it quite clear who their God is by canceling service for the Super Bowl because they want to be home to watch it also. I can only imagine what Leonard Ravenhill would have said about a carnal and worldly church like NewSpring.

  • @A0n79fRtW During the Welsh Revival people became wholly uninterested in sports and instead started to pray together during the time they would have been messing around with rubber balls.

I can only imagine what kind of punishment this poor pastor is going to receive when he dies, unless he repents. But history has shown that most preachers in churches like these do not repent and in fact being put into this position IS their punishment.

  • @Floatie114 : How could you say he is arrogant. Arrogant: " Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities." He isnt boasting in his ability but he is boasting about the power of God that is working through his church. Hence the children get parents back, Marriages being restored etc... All 16 people who liked your comment are like the Pharisees when they criticized Jesus on the Sabbath.

  • haha awesome, if you guys where walking in the spirit youd know he doesnt think about numbers(scorebored) hes just making a example, and then give it to the lord

  • This man is an arrogant reprobate. As he lists his "Scoreboard stats"...he of course fails to mention what he and his staff did, and are continuing to do to PRofessor James Duncan. These frauds love to make themselves "appear" that they are some counter cultural revolutioniaries, when in fact Perry Noble is a biblically illiterate, manipulative, fould mouthed, beliigerent, and pretty much every time I hear him the word Narcissist comes to mind. Othe than that he is a fine Christian leader.

  • wwoooww....

"scoreboard" = proof Nobles theology is disgusting heretical and works base... Nothing to do with Gods grace and justification by faith alone...

He actually thinks he's a good person.

    extremely sad...

  • "Blog about that one, buddy!"

Oh, we will! Because the number of people who attend your church and pray some prayer matters to God? Pastors who really teach what the Bible says usually have a relatively small congregation. Why? ... because the world hates the Truth! When you preach the real Gospel, the world will hate you and real Christians will like you, not the other way around as it is with Noble.

  • Sounds like you pretty much hate Noble so maybe you hate the truth ...Scoreboard

  • Yeah, Perry, Jesus died so you could play "Highway to Hell" in your church

  • Guy looks like a young Michael Moore to me. Not saying that good or bad I just mean physically he looks like him.

  • its bad.

    :)

  • SCOREBOARD! lulz

  • If you would take the time to come to NewSpring and listen to what Perry has to say instead of "blips" of what he has to say then you would KNOW it is not about the praises of men AT ALL! If you dont' go to NewSpring then why are you so worried about what he has to say anyway?

  • you dont know perry i do. you dont know what he has to put up with its people like you.... but what he is saying is he will put up with that because he loves Jesus and is willing to do anything to further his kingdom. and LaneCh you got it all wrong the vison of newspring is o reach the lost hich is kinda wat a lot of christians need to remeber... thats what we are here for. i will be praying for you.

  • Perry told a lie to his people. Refer to his blog

    w w w perrynoble com 2009 07 15 four ways to deal with a critic

    1-4 Ignore Them

So which one of Perry's mouths speak the truth?

  • When perry says "Ignore Them" he is referring to ignoring the individual people that come down on you. If there is a general consensus of opinion going around a large group of critics, then it is important to point out the error as Perry has just done here.

  • The only reason that it's hard for Perry to accept criticism from other men is because his "ministry" is based on seeking the praise of men so naturally when the goal is not met, it's tough on little Perry.

  • false. how can you even say that...? like i want som evidence. because that is 100% false
