  • 92 person couldn't jump no more

  • The Rangers may lead the way, but it's the 101st Airborne who rendezvous with destiny.

  • Awesome!

  • may be fan of the navy but gotta give respect for our paratroopers :)

  • Great grandfather served in George Company 101st Airborne world war two served with Fritz niland the real private Ryan wish I could've lived in their generation what great people!

  • @101AirborneFilmsGuns

    thanks from France

  • Currahe brought me here

  • I don't know why but I like this song

  • I heard this in band of brothers this song fills my house now.

  • Charlie 632 here. From back in 1972. Glad to hear they are still singing this song. Thanks.

  • I LOVE IT! My pulse beats to this song! I'm addicted to the military!

  • @aceflyer89 then serve for your country=)

    (except your living in Iran=P)

  • @aldjals54423 I will VERY shortly and I will serve with the greatest honour and devotion. It's in my blood so I must continue it :)) Yeah lol :P

  • here, take a look at this folks, interesting History of the Maroon Beret*if we are all to believe wikipedia like Fanatics* LOL.

Type in Maroon Beret on google and then goto the wikipedia link

  • Oh and Just look into the History of the Maroon Beret for U.S Paratroopers, and I think you Might not be Surprised at which British General authorized it for certain units in the United States Army, and when it was given to us. a Place Known to U.S Paratroopers as Hell's Highway. But Historically known as Operation Market-Garden :P

  • Well, Being as how the Brit Para Regiment are some of the best in the business, your among Good Company!

  • Band of brothers brought me here but massive respect from U.K.!!! I want to join the R.A.F. i wish we sang songs like this!!! and had brotherhood like WW2!!!!!!

  • Band of Brothers brought me here... but huge respect to the Airbourne.... from the U.K. can you believe!! HUGE RESPECT

  • the Airborne are the bravest soldiers in the u.s. military nuff said

  • Well, Everytime I Jumped, I must have heard every Deity you can Imagine being Prayed to before going out the Door, but after riding on the Herky Bird or C-141 for a while, I myself was ready to get the hell out of that aircraft! :P

  • We also need to give Credit to the other Airborne Divisions in World War 2: 6th and 9th "Ghost" Airborne divisions that served in the Pacific, and made the Combat Jumps in the Phillipines, and also 17th ABN Div that participated in Operation Varsity(Combat jump into Germany). All 3 of these divisions received less press then the 101st and 82nd of course.Brother paratroopers all!

  • HOOOAH xD

  • some guys get nervous when they jump......I get a hard on......

  • Lol soldier ghosts.

  • I would Amend PhogFreak's Comment about the 3 Ghosts Visiting... thatd be 1 Ghost wearing the patch of 101st, 1 Ghost wearing the patch of 82nd and the last Ghost wearing the Patch of 173rd Airborne Brigade. :)

  • how about this one:~ Momma told Sally not to go down town, said there were too many Paratroopers hangin around, Sally didnt listen and she went anyway, and came back with her belly round. Nine months later out it came, a Bad Little Paratrooper swingin a chain!~

  • Its always Been Gory Not Glory. Always has been, always will be! I hope they still sing it at Jump school with all the new recruits.. I saw 4 newbys from ROTC pass out when they first heard this song!Paratroopers Rule!

  • You have the title wrong. I am doing a report on paratroopers and found IN PRIMARY SOURCES that it is spelled "helluva" not "hell of a." That is how the paratroopers spell it, that is how you NEED to spell it.

  • @armoredwatermelon Good point. Never noticed. Done.

  • @armoredwatermelon If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Spent four years in the eighty deuce, abn inf.

  • @azazel221 thanks for fixing it. i feel that the paratroopers need to be honored in the best way possible. if you would be willing, would you like to be interviewed via email or something of the sort. we would like to get as many as we can. by the way, i love this song, it really helped our research.

  • @azazel221 so did i

  • @armoredwatermelon the paratroopers faught for a free nation so he needed change anything.

  • @sk8rhammy i recognize what they did, but spelling the title right at least honors paratroopers that much more.

  • I love this cadence. My DS sang it occasionally and it was my favorite one with his great voice.

  • world at war is so devastating.they expense lot of money to gain territories? is that a human should be? thus god gave intelligence for the human to fight one another?.......its sad

  • Azazel and slyrez i agree with you both. In my opinion everyone in war had it hard and amazing respect to anyone, combat or not, that either is or has served our armed forces and to the soldiers overseas good luck, come home soon, and god bless.

  • im pretty sure its actually glory not gory

  • @therandomgoth ur wrong bud,its gory is and adjective and means bloody or horrible/brutal.

  • @therandomgoth You would be wrong. See lyrics in description. Then see lyrics on original distribution sheet through link in lyrics. Then look at the comments and see that this is resolved every month, and observe that you're on the losing side. Also notice that all of the people who think that it is glory and not gory was/is not a paratrooper while the ones correcting them are/were paratroopers.

  • @azazel221 I'm not a paratrooper, have no family that were paratroopers (Navy and Marines in my family). Have a friend that is a paratrooper but I knew it was Gory prior to him joining/me meeting him.

  • @azazel221 I think he gets that because this song is based from the battle hymn of the republic. Just sayin, they changed the whole of the other words why not change glory to gory :P

  • @azazel221 Lol, resolved each week?

  • @azazel221 agreed. My dad was an E5 in the 82nd in '71 and '72. The words are in the back of his Jump School yearbook; its gory.

  • @therandomgoth Gory, gory what a hell of a way to die. They also mention the guy's chute not working, pulling bits of skull and brains out of his boots when he hits the ground and pick up his risers with blood covered on them. It is most definitely gory and not glory. Glory is from the song "Glory Glory Hallelujah" or whatever.

  • @Gregolian Ok, thanks.

  • @therandomgoth The tune to the song is The Battle Hym of the Republic, which makes people think it should be 'Glory' instead of 'Gory', but ask anyone who has been on the DZ when someone burned in and ask them which word is more appropriate. If you look at the Wikipedia page for the song it mentions that same argument.

  • @therandomgoth Since the song is often sung at a shout, it is hard to distinguish whether there is in fact an "L" sound when it is sung. Most likely, however, it should be "Gory" due to the relation the word has with the rest of the song (being about a paratrooper falling to earth due to two faulty chutes).

  • @iFSify yeah thasts why to me it sound like Glory not Gory. But it seems a little strange that they WOULD'NT sing Glory.

  • @therandomgoth it is gory but hard to here it

  • as an iraqi i have mixed feelings about US army after they messed up my country and left it in a worse state than they lfound it in- lack of water, ;ack of petrol!!! lack of electricity, no security- sectarian in fighting- total corruption in govt, slow rebuilding etc-, however i have so much respect for the 101st airborne-especially after reading the story of easy company. mad brave men, loyal and awe inspiring- they fought the good fight. i would be proud to be associated with any one of them

  • I started the new year listening to this song, hell, Im going to remember this song as the song that started 2012. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OUR SERVICE MEMBERS!

  • great men

  • compassion ! respect ! how much of any of those two words did the people at auschwitz, riga, bergen belsen, buchenwald,to name a few, recieve ? you ignorant shits.

my only regret is that we didn't kill a million more of the goose stepping nazi bastards than we did.

  • AIRBORNE ! hooah !

  • The Fallschirmjager are Very Well Respected by U.S Paratroopers, Then and Now. All German Military were required to take the Oath of Allegiance to Adolph Hitler, That does not mean they were all Nazis.usnavy81887 is quite correct, showing respect for your enemys does not mean you are throwing away your compassion, nor does it mean your suddenly a Nazi.

  • We sang this song in Jump School at Fort Benning Georgia back in 1986 when I was there. I served in 82nd ABN Div as a Combat Engineer from 86 to 89. 2 thumbs up for this Video, I havent heard this song since 89 :)

  • my grandpa was part of easy company R.I.P. we miss you

  • @bizybuzz619 who was your granfather if you dont mind me asking

  • @kderocheross1 James Norman Busby

  • One of the finest, and deeply, deeply traditional military songs in U.S. armed forces history. Still sung today at the Airborne School in Ft. Benning, Georgia before new troopers go up for their first jump. If you haven't been there through the school, you can't really relate, so most of you civilians who don't know any 20th century U.S Army history, well, it's best you keep your mouth shut. If you don't, later tonight you'll be visited by 3 ghosts, all wearing patches from the 82nd or 101st..

  • @Phogfreak 101st Airborne Reenactor, Ft Campbell Kentuckey. thanks for your service man

  • @Phogfreak my dad was in the 82, my mother was a feild medic. i am a civilian but i have 2 more years untill i folo in the family tradition, i understand what your saying about civ's talking shit like they know anything, and it's annoying too the family's of vet's aswell, but at the same time, its flattering they want to impersonate the best, because they never will be the best

  • @Phogfreak so does this mean I get to see my relitives

  • Long live the memories of my fallen brothers since the beginning! Oh Hail, Oh Hail, Oh Infantry.

  • @edemardil QUEEN OF BATTLE FOLLOW ME !!!!!!!!

  • I remember sitting in the harness shed in Fort Benning waiting 5 days for the weather to clear so we could jump. We would watch videos of the Airborne School and Band of Brothers along with listen to this song, and Jump by Van Halen. Man, I love being a paratrooper!

  • I am a little late to responding to this, but I would like to say Thank You to my Dad who is 92 years old and still going. He spent 4 years in the pacific with the 41st Inf Div also known as the jungliears. I believe that I survived Viet-Nam because I knew I could (my Dad went through worse) so I could make it.

  • Airborne song. CAK

  • @stubbostubbs wats ur problem

  • What a load of fucking BOLLOX

  • makes me cry... love live the battered bastards of Bastogne

  • 88 diikes. 8th letter of the alphabet is H. HH. Hail Hitler. O.O DAMN.

  • @DNTMESWITDAZOHAN stop hating on the devil dogs, somebodies gotta be the sponge on the battlefield.

  • @werwr4 your right someone does but these sponges dont go down easy and this is coming from an Air force guy...allllthooooo guess who they call when things get too hairy...."These guys" no disrespect i just poking fun at the other branches but we are a unity we cant function without the other

  • The germans made 88 accounts

  • @SouskeSagara1 Not all Germans are nazis. only a small amount of Idiots are nazis in Germany!

    Im German and no nazi....

  • who in disrespectful christ dislikes this song...

  • blood upon the risers is not a sad song. it is an ode to a kind of person. god bless the airborne. amen.

  • GLORY GLORY WHAT OF A HELLL TO DIE HE AINT JUMP NO MORE. MARINES ARE THE BEST AND THEY DONT NEED GUNS

  • @1391ct In your wet dreams, jarhead. AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!

  • Memorized this. I am in JROTC and on the drill team. i was selected for inspection platoon for the competition. The first thing the sargent asks me is if i know the song, i said yes. He then told me to recite it. longest inspection ever.

  • @100ceasar fuck yeah!

  • I woke up this morning and felt a bit of nostalgia. There was a certain cadence singing in my head, bringing back memories of Ft. Benning, the Sgt. Airbornes singing this in cadence with our whole 200 man company singing along, in perfect timing. Voices ringing off the barracks and buildings around the jump towers, it was so powerful! It was enough to give me goosebumps from head to toe. I will never forget that, thank you 1/507.

  • SALUTE TO ALL WHO SERVED!!!! RLTW!!!

  • My mom asked me to put on Christmas songs. For some reason I felt a need to play this song instead.

  • Was skydiving today and after jumping outta the plane. This was the first song that came to my mind.

  • I went to a old folks home today and met a ww2 vet he had a bronze star a purple heart and was in artillery .......he was old and fun :3 I know it has nothing to do with the song but I still fell good about it

  • Comment removed

  • Fuckin sick ass song, love this one.

  • I was there 1944,I died by mortar in open field in France

  • Can't wait to hit recon jump school! This song is getting me pumped!

  • just got a m.o.a.b. on mw3 after listening to this song (i was usin the acr silenced)

  • @RJKProductionz no one gives a fuck you sad shit

  • @RJKProductionz wow u dick i will tell u a story i had a great grandfather he was in the 101 airbornehis plane was hit he stayed on and held it up intill every 1 was out then he tryed to jump but at the last second a shell hit the plane all his friend saw was raining body parts.....

  • such a sad song. fucking mad respect for ww2 vets. they had it hard. not that i still appreciate modern soldiers its just that if there was a tank or a sniper thy had to take care of it themselves. today all they have to do it bring a drone or remote controlled machine. respect for all allied vets

  • @slyrez You're right about respecting the WW2 vets. They did have it hard, but don't take anything away from the boys over there right now. Drones and bots are not as common as video games might make you think they are. It's also pretty handy to have your enemy wear a uniform. Modern enemy combatants don't.

  • @azazel221 yes thats true. i didnt think of that. our guys now in the midle east have no clue who the enemy until they fire first.

  • Must say that in WW 2 , all involved fought a war way more HONORABLE as compared to the way middle east terrorist war. Honorless enemy hides behind their own innocent civilians and in plain clothing .. and STILL, the HONORABLE troops from the west do not carpet bomb cities and villages to kill a few hidden terrorist fucks. and these terrorist fucks plant IEDs on their own roads near their own population .. HONOR TO HONORABLE SOLDIERS FOREVER.

  • @azazel221 yea now its gillie suits, to blend in better now and break up the human figure so it makes you harder to see

  • @slyrez yeh mate in the british airborne we go barebones pulling ww2 rambo shit on the enemy non of that drone bullshit we have it hard but the training prepares you for it almost feelsw like the enemy is better equiped then us but we are efficent killing machine MAROON MACHINE!!!

  • @slyrez Someones been playing to much cod.......

  • @Akiminos and how is that exactly? i dont play video games because i have better things to do

  • @slyrez Well then, I apologize you made it sound like you played it a lot. But then I must also add that the use of drones and remote controlled machines are very uncommon. In fact the majority of the troops have to rely on the same weapons(although more advanced) as the soldiers of WWII.

  • @Akiminos oh no problem man xD

  • @slyrez War makes it "hard" for everyone, both sides.

  • @smoku46 what I mean is a lot of people today think that japanese or germans weren't human and they took the bullets in them because that was their goal lol. That's a bad thinking.

  • @slyrez Fuck off. Mad respect to our elder brothers in arms. They are the reason we are so great. We learned from the mistakes they made, and paid for.

  • @yamkippur2112 i am respecting elder vets did you not read my fucking comment correctly or are you dyslexic?

  • @slyrez Why just the allied vets? i say: Respect to everyone of those who fought, lost and suffered, everywhere and anytime.

If you don't respect your ennemy, you don't even respect yourself.

  • @AbdulElRazad As said in FMJ "These are great days we're living, bros. We are jolly green giants, walking the Earth with guns. These people we wasted here today are the finest human beings we will ever know. After we rotate back to the world, we're gonna miss not having anyone around that's worth shooting."

  • @AbdulElRazad of course u must respect allied vets. of course. what i meant was i thank them all. im not going to thank enemy soldiers...

  • I have little compassion for the Nazis and imperial Japan that started the war.

  • @usnavy81887 Yeah, so all the german soldiers were nazis, and all nazis deserved to die. Right. Why not. The point is not about showing compassion, but respect.

  • Airborne Oorah!

  • R.I.P All soldiers from both world wars :( and of course from all other wars to

  • Zooom Zooom zooom zooom

  • FOR NARNIA!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks - for some strange reason I just love this. Is this a for-real 'anthem'?

I ask because I've had family in all branches of US Services - except Airborne. I've heard some crazy 'anthems' from the rest so can believe this is for real, but wasn't sure.

(Had was an uncle who was part of a bomber crew in WWII - and they had some crazy 'anthems' - but they not Airborne.)

Takes guts to jump out while getting shot at!

  • OHHH AHHH AIRBORNE!!! ALL THE WAY!!!

  • gory!

  • 88 people had there parachutes deploy properly

  • Helikoptern den har landat och ska ta oss med på färd, den skall landsättas i Tensta för där är en annan värld.

Där svenska bonden plöjde lever nu ett annat folk

Därför tar jag med min stora dolk.

    Ref:

    Glory glory svarta skalle

Jag ska slita av din balle

    Skjuta av din svarta skalle

Och dränka den i bensin, blattesvin!

  • What a hell of a way to die!!!

  • can i get this version on itunes? i don't like the high choir voices

  • @BkrazaytheGOD Whats the name of cadence? Sounds like another way to increase the morale of the troops.

  • @irondude0611 It's a double-time. The chorus is "Airborne Ranger." I think it's called I hear the choppers coming.

  • The most gory song ever in history

  • @Sithlordxxxx This is most definitely the most goriest song that the army sings. I want to watch the 82nd sing this.

  • @GreekRocker00 type the name of the song into Google and go to the wiki page :)

  • The Official Remembrance day may have been yesterday, But as far as i'm concerned We Will Remember them Every Day

  • @truthfullcomentator AGREED! MANY THANKS TO THE TROOPS!

  • @tayloraddicted *Salutes* A Brave man

  • This at one time played as each rookie unit went for their first jump at Fort Benning Georgia when I was stationed there.

  • @TheBige42 when were you stationed?

  • @sayguywtfisjuice 1986 is when I went through at Benning.

  • @TheBige42 me too. D-2-2 Infantry then Airborne School

  • why shoud anybody dislike this ?

  • you guys think the american airborne is hard to get in you should try the british wooo i would have gotten in but bugged my knee up on the last day i could only become a tanksman because of this :(

  • @greggyinfantry That sounds an awful lot like Sgt. risners story from Brothers in arms:road to hill 30...

  • @theleggett171 indeed i sooo wish i was a para though :(

  • I can vouch for Ironwolf the physical is pure hell but in the end is worth it. I worked on the crab boats in alaska and it is a hell of a lot different Wannabe

  • Everybody who does not like this song is a f****** nazi!

  • @marhop9 Oh oh... better not start a Nazi discussion on Youtube, they are everywhere, and waiting for somebody who say something negative about them :D

  • Hooah

  • the good old days of airborne school Hooah

  • One of the most frustrating things in my life is that I'm 4F

  • GOD BLESS THE AIRBORNE RANGERS!!!

  • For a long time I thought they were saying "glory glory".

  • SORRY GUYS HOW CAN I FIND THIS SONG LYRICS??

  • @GreekRocker00 See where it says show more? It's both written out in there and linked.

  • @honkie fuck the airborn it all about the seal get on my level bitch were all bros but your weaker so shut the fuck about the mirnes there still better then u

  • @99mattman123 Get fucked shitbag, Hey asshole, you sound like you have a big dick in your mouth. Paratroopers are 10 times better than sissy marines. You can not even spell the word marine right. What an ignorant mother fucker!!!!!!!

  • @DumbHonkie1 We're all on the same team. I've seen shitbag paratroopers and shitbag marines. Neither is really superior. The fact that paratroopers have the airborne status forces the units to train paratroopers to a higher standard than the rest of the Army (except rangers and sf), but it doesn't make them necessarily better than marines.

  • @azazel221 You make a lot of sense. You have my respect. The Special Forces and the Rangers are paratroopers too. They are SUPER paratroopers. To the marines who come to this site, I consider this site an AIRBORNE SITE. I will not tolerate your disrespect for the AIRBORNE. I wouln't go to a marine website and belittle the marines either. My tirades against the marines began only when some marines became disrespectful to the AIRBORNE,

  • @99mattman123 And what are the marines? We are people, and they are people. They are just people willing to fight for their homeland. Can you say the same for yourself? And the airborne, they have to parachute down with the danger of their parachute failing. They are all people, we are people. We can all do what they do.

  • i think it's gory glory

  • @SilvahDot You thought wrong. See links in description.

  • @azazel221 well, I guess the title's wrong too, then. ;)

  • @SilvahDot yep...except that it's now called "upon the risers" in the airborne community. Easier to search for.

  • @azazel221 were you in the airborne?
