Melendez showed the lack of wrestling and striking aoki possessed, hopefully training with sakuraba could make him at least a little bit rounded. Kawajiri probably has a better camp however.

If u aint trainin, stay off the mats! Saku has accomplished more than any other Japanese MMA fighter. Just take a look at who he's fought and who he was beating in the early days of Pride. And he's still going, talk about longevity. Saku is a true MMA legend and is one of my personal favorites. Aoki is smart for training with him.

It's interesting how the rivalry between Kawajiri and Aoki even led on to the gym they went to! Sakuraba and Akiyama's rivalry(or grudge) is not going to end too. Also I was surprised to see Kawajiri and Uno spar at the same place! I guess they are in good terms now!

Well, after the "incident" with Sakuraba & Akiyama, I think almost everyone started to hate on Akiyama. But you do have to admit, he is probably the best "Japanese" or Asian fighter in his weight class, and maybe even in all weight classes! I started to cheer for him again a little when he went to UFC. SOMEONE has to prove that Japanese MMA is not WEAK! All MMA fighters have to do something to hype up their fights. Remember what Kawajiri said against Uno? And look at them now!
