But isn't umbrellas like a paper or something (in Japan)? It doesn't matter if you take someone other's umbrella if you really need it. So if someone in Japan takes an umbrella, it's not stealing, it's borrowing. I believe I read that somewhere.. Well, I find that strange, but I like it ^^.

I guess in the US or like in the big cities it's more common when it comes to stealing.
