I love Hunter College! But this nearly $3,000 per semester is killing me! Not to mention the undermining of adjunct staff. But hey it's a great school nonetheless.
@couturebabex33 im going to be a freshman in the fall! unfortunatly there is no housing. However, if you apply to the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter (the CUNY honors college based in Hunter) you can actually get 4 GUARANTEED years of housing and one year of housing for FREE at 1st ave and 25th street! you should definatly check out Macaulay and Hunter!
Definitely look closely at this school before deciding to come here and go to an open house and see the school for yourself. After one semester, I will be transfering out to another school. I feel unchallenged, unhappy with the buildings which are uninspiring, run-down and depressing looking, the professors are ok but the I don't feel I'm getting much of anything out of the classes. It's time to move on.
@freakyvictoria Im applying to Hunter for the Spring semester. I have heard amazing things about their theatre program. Once I transfer i will be a theatre major as well. A lot of known broadway actors, show creators etc, graduated from Hunter. You should go visit and check it out.
I'm gonna be honest. Is this school difficult to get into and enjoy if you have a 78 average? I feel like the people that are saying it's a good school are the ones that are doing well because they're geniuses.
Sigh. I don't know what college to go to. I'm scared.
@foosta026 It's just that the physical environment is oppressive. It is also very difficult to find a real sense of community there. These factors might not matter too much, but they can get to you every now and then. Still, I have to admit the Classics department is really great. You will get a fine education if you attend this college.
If you can afford a better school, go there. I have been at Hunter for over a year now, and I can say that the professors are excellent, but Hunter itself is genuinely depressing.
@octagonana i have the same question, i really want to take a course in photography when i checked they didnt have. they probably have it as a minor though... let me know if you find it and gud luck!
@road2happiness hunter college has a 26% acceptance rate because almost everyone applys so only about 26 percent of all those applicants get in. The huge number of applicants give makes the acceptance rate lower
@road2happiness I'm in Hunter College now. I didn't bother watching the video, what did they say was bad? The only bad thing about this school is the overcrowding. Be careful not to fall on the escalators lol. I love my experience here, I'm graduating this Spring. You will have fun here.
@donovan2010c nooo they want to have kids from other states and countries. theres more of a chance to get in, but the thing is u probably have to pay more than the kids that already live here. gud luck though!
@AsianHideOut No. I was alluding to the humor found in taking the sentence literally that students speak more than 100 languages - imagine a school where all students spoke more than 100 languages. Jokes aside, the diversity of the faculty may be more pertinent to the potential for student educational development in various programs. Not neccessarily ethnic diversity but more-so diversity of professor' field experience and whether they are highly revered in their respective fields of study.
im thinking of transferring there.... whats the fencing team like? and is it worth going to?
