I like very much, that your interpretation is much less pathetic than Petula Clark's, who seemed to be wanting to give the song a special depth or just was trying to impress with her voice or compass. I think, u much better catch the idea of the song giving a lighter (but not cheerful) feel to it.
I especially like your singing of the short 3-line stanzas before the bridge. Gorgeous!
